Recap: Pranitha is pregnant
*******************
Vikram and Sana accompanied Pranitha and Pugazh as they all returned home. The moment they entered, Amudha’s face lit up with joy. She was on cloud nine after hearing the news of a new member soon to join their family.
“I’m so happy that I have no words to express it,” Amudha said, her eyes sparkling.
“I’m so happy, Mom. I’m going to be a father!” Pugazh added, unable to contain his excitement.
“What did the doctor say?” Amudha asked eagerly.
Vikram took over, his voice serious yet gentle. “Pranitha is weak, and she needs plenty of rest. So, Pranitha, you’ll stay home. No more office from now on.”
“No, bro, I’m good. I’ll come to office,” Pranitha insisted.
“No way,” Vikram replied firmly. “Take rest. If you really want to work, I’ll let you know when it’s okay.”
Sana stepped in with a warm smile. “Sis, rest well. Sharath bro will take care of the office, paathupaaru.”
Pranitha sighed with mock frustration. “You all have decided everything. What should I even say now?”
“Just for a few days,” Sana said gently. “You can start working later. We won’t stop you.”
“Okay, fine,” Pranitha finally agreed with a soft smile.
“Pranitha, go rest. I’ll get you some juice,” Amudha said and walked toward the kitchen.
Just then, little Sara came running in. “Appa!”
“Princess, come to Appa,” Vikram said, lifting her into his arms and kissing her cheek. She returned the kiss sweetly.
Pugazh looked at Sara and smiled. “Sara, you’ll have a baby brother or sister to play with very soon.”
“Is it, uncle? Wow! Happy, happy!” Sara squealed.
“Okay now, go to Amma. And you shouldn’t disturb Aunty,” Vikram instructed.
“Okay, Appaa,” Sara nodded and trotted away.
Pranitha chuckled. “Bro, what is this? Sara, baby, you don’t have to listen to him. You come to Aunty like usual, and we’ll play.”
“Okay, Aunty,” Sara replied with a giggle.
Vikram turned to Sana. “Sana, I’m leaving for office. Will meet you tonight.”
He kissed her cheek, then walked out of the mansion and headed to his office. Upon arrival, he found Sharath waiting.
“Rajeev is waiting for you,” Sharath informed.
“When did he come?” Vikram asked.
“Two hours back,” Sharath replied.
Vikram walked into his cabin where Rajeev was already seated.
“Hi Rajeev, sorry I couldn’t make it earlier,” Vikram greeted.
“It’s okay, Vikram. How are you?” Rajeev smiled.
“I’m good. How about you?”
“Doing good,” Rajeev nodded. “But there’s something important. Akash’s father is forming an alliance with your rivals.”
Vikram’s brows rose. “Interesting. So he has taken over his son’s unfinished business.”
“He wants revenge, and he’s planning it quietly.”
“Let him plan,” Vikram said coldly. “We’ll return the favor—this time, on a much bigger scale.”
“Watch out for your factories and operations,” Rajeev warned. “It seems he might start there. His lawyer visited him recently, and from what I gathered, they’re also planning to get Akash out through some alternate means.”
“What??” Vikram’s voice sharpened.
“I’m not certain yet, but I’ll update you as soon as I get more details.”
“Alright, Rajeev. Keep me posted.”
“I will take your leave now. Bye.”
Rajeev exited the cabin.
Vikram turned to Sharath immediately. “Keep an eye on all our factories. Appoint our guards in each of them to monitor things.”
“Okay, I’ll take care of it,” Sharath replied. “We’ll have to weaken our rivals if we want to control Vishwanath.”
“Hmmm,” Vikram nodded. “Check their market share. Let their weakness become our strength.”
“Done,” Sharath assured.
“Also, Pranitha won’t be coming to the office for a few months. Make sure her tasks are handled by her assistants.”
“Got it. I’ll also convey my wishes to Pranitha and Pugazh,” Sharath said before getting to work.
Sharath quickly assigned trusted guards to each factory to monitor operations and reached out to Rajeev for more insights into their rivals. Using the information Rajeev provided, he began making strategic moves to corner them.
One by one, the four major rivals were cornered separately and brought to meet Vikram in a confidential setup arranged by Sharath.
By the end of the meeting, all four rivals had surrendered.
They realized that if they continued supporting Vishwanath, they wouldn’t just lose their businesses—but their families too. Terrified, they withdrew their support completely.
Vishwanath tried repeatedly to reach out to them, but none of them even picked up his calls. After several failed attempts, Vishwanath finally understood—Vikram had learned of his plans and neutralized his support system before it even began.
Akash’s father had finally decided to take matters into his own hands. He made a call to a few hooligans and instructed them to infiltrate Vikram’s factories.
“Make sure you do your work without raising any suspicion,” he ordered.
“Okay sir,” one of them replied. “We’ll first mingle with the workers. Once the time is right, we’ll do it.”
“Good. When things begin to mess up, create a blast inside the factory. At least half of the workers should be dead,” he said coldly.
“Okay sir, we will do it,” the hooligan confirmed.
Over the next month, the hooligans had blended in seamlessly with the workers. No one suspected a thing.
Meanwhile, in a private chamber, Vishwanath’s lawyer had arrived to discuss Akash’s release. The atmosphere in the study was tense, heavy with unspoken expectations. Vishwanath leaned back in his chair, his eyes locked on the man seated across from him. His lawyer had arrived moments ago, briefcase in hand and urgency in his voice.
“Sir, the SP has agreed to help get Akash sir out of prison,” the lawyer began, choosing his words carefully.
Vishwanath didn’t flinch. His tone remained cold and sharp. “What’s his demand?”
“He wants 50 crores.”
Vishwanath let out a quiet breath. “No problem. Pay him half now. He can take the rest once Akash is out.”
The lawyer nodded quickly. “Okay sir. He will start arrangements to replace Akash sir inside.”
“Fine,” Vishwanath said, his voice now low but firm. “When is this going to be executed?”
“Next week,” the lawyer replied. “There will be an inspection by the superior officers. Once that’s over, we can go ahead.”
Vishwanath’s eyes narrowed. “Make sure this is absolutely confidential. I don’t want any risk.”
“Okay sir,” the lawyer said, standing up. With a slight bow of his head, he gathered his things and left the room quietly, the weight of the mission now resting on his shoulders.
At Vikram Mansion:
“Sister, come let’s have food,” Sana called.
“No way,” Pranitha replied, covering her mouth. “I feel nauseous just looking at it.”
“It might be hard, but you need to eat something—for your health and the baby. You’re too weak,” Sana pleaded.
“She won’t listen to us, Sana. You bring the plate,” Pugazh said.
Sana handed the plate over, and Pugazh began feeding Pranitha forcefully, bit by bit.
“Pranitha, don’t starve yourself. At least try to eat something,” Amma said softly.
“I can’t hold it anymore,” Pranitha mumbled, turning away. “I’ll get some sleep.”
“Have some juice at least,” Vikram suggested.
“Hey bro, I’ll kill you if you force me more. I really can’t,” she groaned and walked away.
Once she left, Vikram turned to Pugazh. “Did Rakshat call you?”
“No, Vikky,” Pugazh replied.
“What happened?”
“He’s a little busy,” Sana interjected.
“What is it that’s keeping him busy now?” Vikram asked curiously.
“He’s in love,” Sana smiled.
“What??????” Vikram and Pugazh said in unison, utterly shocked.
“Yes,” she confirmed. “I don’t know who the girl is, but he’s in love. He said he’ll let us know when the time is right.”
“Wow,” Vikram said. “He never spoke to us about it.”
“I’ll call him tomorrow,” Pugazh grinned. “We’ll have a little enquiry session.”
“No bro,” Sana stopped him. “Let him come on his own.”
“No, that can’t be let go,” Vikram insisted. “Call him tomorrow.”
“Okay. I’ll head to my room now to call him. I’ll also check on Pranitha,” Pugazh said, standing up.
“Hmm… take care of her,” Vikram replied.
“I’m leaving too,” Sana said, about to walk away.
“Where’s Sara?” Vikram asked.
“Madam is busy in her nursery with Amma,” Sana smiled.
“I’ll go get our princess,” Vikram said and walked to the nursery.
He peeked inside and saw little Sara playing with her toys. Amma was sitting nearby, keeping an eye on her.
“Amma,” he called gently, “you go rest. I’ll take care of her. Please eat something and take a nap.”
“Okay,” Amma nodded. “Sara, come say bye to granny.”
“Bye granny!” Sara waved.
“Come on, princess. What are you playing?” Vikram smiled.
“Appa… ice cream, please,” she whispered sweetly.
“Your Amma will scold us if she finds out. And granny too—no ice cream at night,” he warned.
“Please, Appa,” she pleaded with big eyes.
“Okay, fine,” he whispered. “But be quiet.”
He carried her silently to the kitchen and gently sat her on the counter.
“Just one scoop, princess. If Amma finds out, we’re doomed.”
He opened the freezer and took a scoop of her favorite chocolate ice cream, feeding her lovingly.
Sana stood at the kitchen door, watching them quietly, leaning against the wall. She didn’t disturb them—her heart warmed by the sight. She remembered her own father… the stolen moments of eating ice cream together. A soft smile touched her lips as she quietly walked away, lost in the memory.
