Sid spread the mattress in the hall and placed a pad and pen. He took the cushion from the couch and waited for Yamini to join him who joined him shortly. Vijaya came with plate of breakfast and sat on the couch watching them. Yamini sighed and took the pad and placed it on her lap.
Yam: Look Sid, this is high time you should get settled. You are already 25 and no one will be ready to get their daughter married to someone who is still thinking of getting settled. Atleast now be serious and do start some business. How long will you be so careless and keep eating and sleeping.
Sid passed the water to Yamini who drank it immediately and Sid, Vijaya shared a thoughtful look to each other and cocked their eye brows.
Sid: Yami, you forgot one line today….” Sid, you are not a kid anymore”
Vij: Right, I was about to tell this but this boy had to rush first. Next time I will guess first.
Yami: No, I will not forget any line next time so both of you don’t have dreams like that.
Vij: Fine, atleast write some ideas for the sake of getting the pad, paper and pen. I have some work to be finished and will see your ideas later.
Once Vijaya left Sid and Yami became serious and started thinking of ideas.
Yami: Siddu, how about opening a restaurant ?
Sid: We don’t have so much money and we will need more resources for that .
Yam: how about street food in a vehicle ? You can cook and no need of resources.
Sid: You will clean vessels ?
Yam: No…..how about gift shop ?
Sid: Sounds good but there are so many gift shops already. Competetion will be tuff.
Yam: Nursery ? textile showroom ? saloon ?
Sid: Tell me something relating to my qualification and also to match your crush’s status.
Yam: Poi puncture kada veida loosu payale. ( then go start a puncture shop …you mental man)
Sid: Hey come on Yami, if I don’t start my business then dad will force me to join office. I swear , I can’t work there. I want to do something on my own.
Yam: Serious ah pesuriya da ? ( Are you speaking serious ?)
Siddu nodded his head and Yami ruffled his hair. A fews hours later Vijaya came to the hall and saw the duo sprawled on the floor with snacks and juice by their side. The paper was filled with score from playing cards.
Vij: When will you both become serious and do something useful. I will call Madhuri and see what we will do to both of you.
Vijaya left her home and called for Madhuri who came there and stood with her hand on her hip. Yami eyed Sid who immediately hid their snacks behind him.
Madh: You both are the worst i have seen so far. What did you say me when you left home? You both would discuss and finalize an idea of Sid’s business but is this what your discussion ?
Vij: they completed most of the snacks Madhu.
Madh: Useless idiots…move aside both of you.
She pushed Sid and took the snacks from behind him and sat next to Yami who rolled her eyes. Vijaya sat next to Sid and hit his head.
Madh: Yenda, indha thenmittai enakkum vaangitu vayenda. ( biy, why could you not buy buy this honey mithai for me too ?) Now include our names too and give the card. Game starts fresh and whover loose today will cook dinner. Deal ?
Everyone except Yami said deal and Sid nudged her to accept giving a wink and she happily accepted it. Their game was on with the duo cheating their mother and Madhuri lost the game with least score.
Sid: Mom, today don’t forget to cook mushroom briyani for me and pasta for Yami. Ok now I will buy us briyani for lunch.
He stood and pulled Yami with him and started his bike with Yami behind him. She hit his head to wear the helmet.
Sid: Hey, girls won’t get oppurtunity to see my face if I hear my helmet so let me be please.
Yam: If you don’t wear helmet then you can’t see yourself nor we will see you tomorrow. Idiot, follow safety rules or lets not go and eat ice briyani from home.
Sid shook his head and wore his helmet and they left to buy briyani for them. By night after dinner Vimal was in the garden and called Sid to discuss about his ideas. Sid rubbed his nape and sat opposite to him and cleared his throat. Right in time his saviour entered there and sat next to Sid.
Vim: so what have you decided Sid ?
Yam: Actually we have decided to open an online shopping portal for customized gifts. We both are interested in crafts and we are planning to do that business and also for a regular business Sid wanted to open a cafe.
Vim: Cafe is usual one. We find one in every corner of street. So you need to think of it.
Sid: Cafe like not the usual one. I wanted to do it differently. A special cafe and I m gathering some ideas for it so I will let you know about it.
Vim: Do you want to open a cafe and will be cleaning the tables and you thought I will watch my brother doing those things just like that. I m sorry Sid, please think of something better and about money just me know and don’t bother about it. I want my brother to be well settled and I m not taking any more No and delay from you…..both..got it ?
Sid and Yami nodded their head and Vimal left from there leaving the duo sighing in relax.
Sid: So what next ?
Yam: you will achieve your dream Sid and I will support you so don’t worry. Tomorrow we will get one room ready to work on gift ideas. We will make some gifts and then post them online for sale. We need to make some unique ones.
Sid winked and hified with her and they retired to their rooms to sleep.
Before Sid could sleep he got a call from his friends to meet them for a drinks night. He quickly got ready and left the home in his bike and reached his best friend Navin’s apartment. Sid, Navin and Parthy were best friends from college and hang out together. Sid would join them at the weekends night and have drinks night but ofcourse Sid drink only juice as he is scared of his Yami.
Sid entered the apartment and saw Navin and Parthy ready with drinks and Navin preparing omlete for them.
Nav: Machan how are you and Yami ?
Sid: Idiot its only Yamini for you. How many times should I tell you this ?
Nav: Sorry da….tongue slip…ippo sollu enna plan night…( Now tell me what plans for night)
Sid: neenga dhan kudikaranga naa nalla paiyan da enakku juice mattum podhum ( You guys are drunkards but I m good boy..only juice for me )
Parth: Yes yes good boy who doesn’t drink but watch dirty films with us….next time when we meet Yamini we will inform her to keep you in refrigerator.
Sid: she know I watch them when I m with you…so don’t try to blackmail me with this.
Parth: She is ok with that ? God, tell me which lover will allow her boyfriend to watch porn movie ?
Sid threw a pillow on Parthy and kicked Navin who was laughing at him.
Sid: Idiots she is my best friend thats it so shut your mouth.
Parth: Sid, jokes apart just think how good it would be if you have someone who understand you in every way become your wife. Your life will be blessed Sid.
Sid: Stop this topic. Neither me nor Yami has such thoughts. We are happy being friends and I want her through out my life as my best friend and I will not lose her hearing all your stupid words.
Nav: fine but what happens after you get married. Your wife will throw you out of room and will never let you touch her with Yami…I mean Yamini around you.
Sid: Then simple I won’t get married. Problem solved.
Nav: Yeah problem solved but what if Yamini gets married then her husband will kick your ass if you go to her home to look for her. Don’t even dream of taking her in your bike or playing with her.
Part: Yes, may be wait for some more years then you can play with her kids.
Sid: you guys are annoying. Shut up and start the movie now and let me get my juice.
Nav: Oru naal vandhu idhey sarakka kudichitu Yamini venum nu polamba pora paru appo irukku da unakku. ( One day you will be here drinking this alcohol and rant on wanting Yamini. We will deal that day )
Sid: Keep dreaming…
Half way through movie Sid returned home and saw the lights of Yamis’ were on and immediately entered her room through the balcony and saw her reading book. He silently went behind her and saw it was romance book.
Sid: Adipavi, book padikkuren book padikkuren nu idhan nee padikure book ah ? ( girl, you keep saying reading book and is this what the book you are reading ?)
Yami: Hey Sid, when did you come and shut your mouth. Its just a book unlike the movies you watch with your idiot friends. Now tell me why did you return so early ?
Sid: hey Yami, Navin and Parthy keep saying that once you are married then we cannot be friends. I will not get married but what about you ? Enna vittu poiduviya Yami ? ( Will you leave me Yami ?)
Yam: Nonsense, I will not leave you if that needs me to remain single then I will also not get married. Now stop sulking and that doesn’t suit you.
Sid: what if your parents force you to get married ?
Yam: Definitely should be considered ? Lets think of it but now I m sleepy so get out or just sleep silently.
Yami pulled the duvet over her head and Sid returned to his room thinking of ways to keep Yami with him forever.
