There were queries on the sweet flag plant in the last chapter and some of you have given clarification on it. Many might have not seen those clarified comments so here I m giving the details of it.
Sweet flag is called as Vasambu in Tamil language. People don’t pronounce the name and instead call it as “pillai marundhu or peyar solladhu” as they believed saying its name reduces its power. The dried stem of this plant has many medicinal values. Bracelet is made of tiny beads of this stem and tied to the wrist of the babies which they inhale and suck onto it to boost digestion. After two or three months people burn this stick and along with this nutmeg ( jathikai ), long pepper (thipili), oak gall (masikai) – one or two lines of grazing these with breast milk is used to feed the babies which help in digestion and to sleep well. When the baby cry of stomach ache again this stem is burnt and made a paste with breast milk and applied around the belly button to give instant relief.
A small of piece of this stem is also carried in purses and kept in lockers and considered to attract money. – Google to know more about this using the term ” Pillai Marundhu “
Warning: Don’t give any medicines to your babies without any proper guidelines from doctors or elders. Please do contact someone who has knowledge on the quantity of the tamil medicine to be given to the babies. Any medicine will work in a positive way only when it is used in the right proportion.

Recap: Reyansh promise Mithun a Rolls royce Phantom to help him bond with Vaishu.

Reyansh got dressed and entered Mithun’s room. He saw him sleeping and grabbing the bottle from the night stand he simply dumped the water on Mithun who woke up startled but on seeing Reyansh he glared and was about to curse but stopped when Reyansh took the name of Rolls Royce Phantom.
Mithun: Unnoda nalla neram naa nalla mood la irukken illa … poi thola ready ayitu varen. ( Its your good time I m in a better mood.. get away I will come after getting ready )
Reyansh: I m waiting…
Mithun scoffed and entered the washroom. Reyansh descended the stairs and looked around searching for his favourite people. He heard voices from the kitchen and ambled towards there. Asha was talking to Vaishu and they were laughing to their heart.
Reyansh Mv: Enna paatha odane sirikradha stop panniduva. ( She will stop laughing as soon as she sees me )
He opened the refrigerator to announce his presence and Vaishu stopped laughing as she saw him.
Reyansh Mv: Sollala… appadi enna naa pannen ? ( Didn’t I say ? What did I do for this ?)
Asha cocked her eyebrows at Reyansh pointing to Vaishu but he shook his head as no and walked out taking nothing from the fridge.
He sat for breakfast and Asha placed a plate of moong dhal dosa with chutney. Reyansh looked at the color of the dosa and the chutney.
Reyansh Mv: Color color ah dosa chutney seiyura aana ellam nalla irukku. ( She is making dosa and chutney of different colors still they too good )
Asha: This is moong dhal dosa good for health. Our new chef Vaishu has prepared for you.
Vaishu came with another and placed it before him and was about to leave but stopped when Reyansh spoke to her.
Reyansh: Dosa is very nice Vaishnavi. I loved the dinner very much. You are really a chef. Thank you for giving the best and healthy food for me.
Vaishu nodded her head and walked away disappointing him. He felt a pat on his back and saw Mithun giving a smile.
Mithun: Why worry when I m here ? Let me handle this.
Mithun entered the kitchen and signalled the staffs to leave. Reyansh followed him and stood without Vaishu noticing him and Mithun sat on the counter with a plate asking for dosa from her. Vaishu smiled and placed a dosa on his plate with chutney. Reyansh fumed and threw daggers at Mithun through his eyes. Mithun ignored him and started eating as well as praising her.
Reyansh couldn’t take it anymore and left from there to Vaishu’s room. He saw Ishaan and Ishika awake in the crib and looking at the colorful toy.
Reyansh: I m angry with your mother and your Mithun uncle. Let us ignore them like they are doing me. Don’t talk to your mother and Mithun uncle too. No no no… Wait let me go see what are they doing now ? I will ask Asha maa to look after you until then.
Reyansh reached the kitchen and saw Mithun starting the conversation so he stopped in his track listening to them.
Mithun cleared his throat and Vaishu looked at him.
Mithun: Vaishu if you don’t take me wrong shall I ask you something ?
Vaishu: Ofcourse Mithun brother. You don’t need permission.
Mithun: You talk to me, Asha maa but why not with Reyansh ? I mean we can see you avoiding him completely. Did he do something wrong ?
Vaishu: Enna solringa Mithun anna, avar enakku kadavul madhiri. Naa yen avara avoid panna poren ? ( what are you saying Mithun brother ? He is like a god to me. Why will I avoid him ?)
Mithun: Avoid pannala na yen avan kitta pesa matra, avan vandhale silent ayidura ? ( If you are not avoiding him then why are you not talking to him and become silent as soon he appears before you ?)
Vaishu: Avar engalukku neraya seiraru. Ennala avarukku endha ketta perum vara koodadhu. Naa romba unlucky adhunala avarukku problem vara koodadhu, naa inga irukradhu nala avarukkum avar girl friend kum endha problem vara koodadhu. yendha ponnukkum thannoda lover illa husband vera ponnukku importance kudutha pudikadhu. ( He is doing a lot for us. I don’t want his name to be tainted because of me. I m very unlucky and I don’t want him to get in any trouble because of me. I don’t want any problem to arise between him and his girl friend. No girl will like her lover or husband giving importance to some other girl)
Mithun: don’t be stupid to think that you are unlucky. Why do you think you will cause problem in his life ? And moreover she is not his girlfriend.
Vaishu: She may no be the girl friend now but she may become his with time and I don’t want to be an obstacle in their way stopping any good from happening in his life.
Mithun: You are really crazy Vaishu. Lavanya will never be his girlfriend. Infact he never had interest in any girls so far. Now tell me will you talk to him ?
Vaishu: I really bring bad luck to everyone around me.
Mithun: You are lying Vaishu. Actually you hate him and that is why you are not ready to talk to him but you are giving some lame excuses.
Vaishu: No, I will never hate him. Hating him is like hating my Ishu and Ishi. He is the one who gave us this life.
Mithun: Then tell me, if you don’t hate him, will you be his friend like you accepted me ?
Vaishu stood not answering and fidgeted with the end of her shawl.
Mithun Mv: Mithun oru act poduda. ( Mithun put an act man )
Mithun : Doesn’t he deserve atleast to be your friend ? Poor fellow he felt bad and even started to believe himself that he is bad that is why you are avoiding him. You hurt him too much Vaishu. I won’t force you anymore. My Rey, I m sorry but don’t worry, I will be there for you.
Mithun Mv: Rolls royce miss ayidum polaye ( I think I will miss Rolls royce)
Vaishu: I will be his friend
Mithun: Is it ? Woww I m so happy but someone is more happy.. Rey, come on why do you stand there still ? Come greet your friend.
Reyansh Mv: God, he is truly mad. Now will she think as if I m a creep and desperate to talk to her. Its ok she has agreed to be friend so take it on from here Rey.. come on do it.
Reyansh glared at Mithun and walked to them and stood before Vaishu with a smile. He stretched his hand for a hand shake and Vaishu looked at him and his hand.
Reyansh: Won’t you shake hands with your friend ?
Vaishnavi nodded her head and her hands were literally shaking as she stretched.
Reyansh: I think we should consult a neurologist for you. See how your hands are shaking.
Her trembling hand got in touch with his and he held her hand a tight grip and shook with confidence.
Reyansh: Always be confident of yourself Vaishnavi. Nothing and no one is stronger than our own self. Ishaan and Ishika will grow seeing you. Show them how strong you are.
Vaishu smiled at him realizing how true his words were. Reyansh was a doing a dance in his mind looking at her smile. Mithun nudged him and gestured him to leave her hand which was still in Reyansh’s hold. He gave a sheepish smile and let go of her hand.
Vaishu: Thank you sir for everything you are doing for us.
Reyansh: You are welcome madam.
Mithun: madam ah ????
Reyansh: Yeah, if she is my friend and call me sir then I should give the same respect to her. So from now on I will call her madam. hmmm Mithun, your PA was trying to reach you go check on him.
Reyansh glared at him to leave and Mithun squinted his eyes but Reyansh grit his teeth making Mithun leave the place.
Mithun Mv: Starting trouble nenachu ivan sixer adikuran. ( I thought he has starting troublem but he is hitting sixer here )
Reyansh: So, we are good as friends calling each other as sir and madam.
Vaishu: illa sir appadi lam koopidadhinga please… ( No sir, nothing like that..please don’t call me that. )
Reyansh: you agreed to be my friend and friends don’t address as sir and madam. There should be no differences between friends isn’t it ?
Vaishu nodded her head again.
Reyansh: Good then you will call me Reyansh or Rey like everyone call me.
Reyansh Mv: not that I mind if you give a nick name to me.
Vaishu: Re….R….Reya… Reyansh..
She closed her eyes which he found extremely cute and rolled his tongue on his cheeks.
Reyansh: good, see its very simple. Now will I get another hot dosa to seal this friendship ? Don’t nod your head please. I have been seeing you only nodding your head from day 1.
Vaishu: Sure wait at the table. I will get it.
Reyansh Mv: Can’t I sit over the counter and enjoy a little ? May be next time. Lets take it slow.
He Walked out and saw Mithun and Asha running away seeing him after listening to his conversation with Vaishu secretly.
He got seated and Vaishu served him dosa but Reyansh pushed the plate to her.
Reyansh: Now sit and have your breakfast. We will have food together hence forth. I mean you, me , Mithun and Asha maa. We will place a crib or mattress so that muffins will be before us and they not be alone when we have food.
Vaishu: Its ok I will have later.
Reyansh: Won’t you listen to your friend Vaishu ? Can I call you that ?
Vaishu: hmmm.
Reyansh: good, now sit down and have this dosa.
He pulled the chair and Vaishu sat hesitatingly. Reyansh served chutney and poured a glass of water.
Once she was done he walked out giving her a smile and saw Mithun waiting for him leaning on the car. They got in the car and Mithun caught Reyansh’s chin to look at him.
Reyansh: What????
Mithun: Won’t you listen to your friend Vaishu ? Can I call you that ?
Mithun mimicked him and Reyansh smacked his shoulder blushing and Mithun burst out laughing. Once he was done he showed his palm to Reyansh.
Reyansh: now what ?
Mithun: Roll Royce…
Reyansh: Waiting for you at office. you will see once we reach.
Mithun: how ?
Reyansh: Mithun will do anything for his craze for cars and I will do and buy anything for my stupid friend even if fails to do his task. Actually I booked the car long back as soon I saw you looking at it in a magazine and waited for a special occasion to give you and it happened to be today.
Mithun: You are the best Rey…
Mithun leaned and kissed Reyansh’s cheek as they bickered until they reached office. Mithun got down and ran to the new black Rolls Royce Phantom that was parked with a satin ribbon tied to the bonnet. Reyansh felt happy to see his friend happy.
