10 years Later:
Reyansh with his assistant and guards arrived at the Chennai office of Ministry of Women and Child Welfare. He had an appointment and was waiting for the past 20 minutes. PA of the minister came out of the minister’s room and greeted Reyansh.
PA: Welcome sir, 5 minutes for the meeting to end and you can meet minister then.
Reyansh: Your minister should learn to keep up with time. I have been waiting for the 20 minutes leaving my business behind.
PA: I m sorry sir but you are here 25 minutes early to your appointment time.
Reyansh saw few men walking out of the room and the PA entered the room immediately to inform about arrival of Reyansh. He came back and lead Reyansh and his assistants to the minister’s room.
Reyansh sat opposite to the minister with his assistants standing behind him with tabs in their hand. Reyansh gave the flowers to the minister.
Reyansh: Congratulation for your win in the elections and for being appointed as the minister for Women and Child welfare.
Minister: Thank you Mr. Badrinath. Can we make up to the point as I have couple of more meetings line up for the day.
Reyansh: Right on point is it ? good. I m here to invite you for the 10th anniversary of our Welfare trust for Woman and Children. Also it will be special occasion as we are launching 10th branch of our trust across the country. It would be a pleasure to have your presence.
Minister: See Mr. Badrinath, nothing comes free here so what do I get in return for my appearance ?
Reyansh: Well, I can give you anything in return and it would be better we discuss this in private. What say ?
Reyansh cleared his throat and his assistants walked out of the room dragging the minister’s PA with them. Reyansh locked the door and ambled to the minister. He removed his blazer, tie and rolled the sleeves to his elbows with a smirk.
Reyansh: What did you say ? Mr. Badrinath is it ? Mrs. Vaishnavi Rey Badrinath, I think you forgot. Last night you were screaming Ansh withering under me.
Vaishu tried to run away from him but he stopped her and in a swift he carried her and made her sit on the desk. He stood between her legs and holding her nape he crashed his lips with her soft ones. Their lips were moving in sync as they kissed slowly and passionately smiling in between. Vaishu pushed him and got down from the desk adjusting her saree and hair.
Reyansh: If you are not satisfied then I can do more as return gift.
Vaishu: Shut up Ansh. I thought you were kidding when you asked for appointment.
Reyansh: Why would I be kidding and how will I not come to wish you Avi ? My wife has won the election in her first contest and also she is now the minister. You truly deserve this position Avi. I was not surprised to see you here today because I know you deserve more than this.
Vaishu: You know why I had to choose this Ansh. Money alone is not sufficient to help people the way we wanted and we have suffered enough in the past years for that so I forced myself to choose this path. Now we have power and no one will stop us from expanding our trust to help people.
Reyansh pulled her and kissed her forehead with his lips lingering a little longer.
Reyansh: You are a true and born leader Avi. I m so proud of you. You know I felt my chest heaving in pride when people outside your office identified me as Minister Vaishnavi’s husband and not as the billionaire Reyansh Badrinath. It would be a honour and respectable only if I came over to invite you officially and personally.
Reyansh passed the invitation to Vaishu and she received it and placed a kiss on his cheek.
Vaishu: I have to meet few more people before returning home. What about you ?
Reyansh: I have a meeting Avi. A very important one to launch our store in Los Angeles so I have informed Lakshman to pick up kids from school but don’t worry I will return as soon as possible. Now stop worrying and take care of your work. I will arrange a nice bath and massage for you when you are back home.
He winked at her and Vaishu hit him on his chest. Reyansh pecked her lips started dressing up.
Reyansh: My time is up and your next appointment should be here already so I will take my leave. Take care Angel.
Vaishu: Miss me until I m back home.
Reyansh: That I will do for sure baby.
Reyansh walked out of the room with a stoic face as if nothing happened back inside. He arrived at office and entered the meeting room directly. All the members were waiting for him and the meeting was started with some officials from Los Angeles on video call.
Half way through the meeting his mobile blared with call from Lakshman. Looking at the time from his wrist watch he saw it was time kids must have returned from school. Lakshman doesn’t call Reyansh unless it was something related to kids so he answered the call immediately. Hearing from the other side he stormed out of the meeting not minding to even give any instructions.
He got into the car and instructed the driver to take him at the earliest possible to home. On reaching home he rushed to the kids room and saw Lakshman, Ishaan, Ishika along with Ayaan, Reyansh and Vaishu’s three old boy standing out of the room.
On seeing Reyansh, Ayaan immediately moved to him from Asha.
Reyansh: What happened muffins ?
Ishika: Appa, she started stop crying from the moment we stepped out of school. We tried to stop her and even I gave her my new paintings.
Ishaan: Yes appa, I gave her my ice cream and even fish fry.
Ishika: You and your fish fry. Shut up Ishaan.
Reyansh: Ok muffins no fighting. Get back to works and I will take care.
Reyansh entered the room and looked around and heard whimpers from beneath the cot. He laid on the floor and saw his 7 years old little angel Aadhvika crying. He moved close to her wrapped his hand around her.
Reyansh: what happened to my cupcake ? Why are you crying ?
Aadhvika: Appa, I m so sorry.
Reyansh: Ok sorry accepted but first you need to come out and tell appa what happened that made you cry. Come on appa ki jaan (love)
They rolled out from either side and Reyansh was quick to carry her in his arms. He wiper her tears and kissed her cheeks. He sat on the couch with Aadhvika on his lap and she leaned her head on his shoulder.
Reyansh: Cupcake now tell me the reason you cried.
Aadhvika: Appa, I lied to my friend Tina in the morning and my teacher taught us a new story about Pinocchio. That boy lied and his nose grew long the next day. Now my nose will grow long and everyone will laugh at me. I don’t want a long nose.
Reyansh: what did you lie about to Pari ?
Aadhvika: She said she has a beautiful blue gown like Elsa and I lied I have 2 gowns like Elsa but have only one.
Reyansh smiled at his daughter who was still sobbing scared of having a long nose.
Reyansh: But my Cupcake didn’t lie.
Aadhvika: No appa, I have only one.
Reyansh: Aadvi, appa wanted to surprise you today so I already bought one blue gown similar to Elsa so you didn’t lie cupcake.
Aadhvi stopped her cries all of a sudden and looked at her father wrapping her hands around his neck.
Aadhvika: Come appa, I want to see it now.
Reyansh: No cupcake, didn’t I say it was a surprise so you need to wait until amma is back. How do we reveal surprises ?
Aadhvika: We all sit around and reveal the surprise together. I will wait but when will amma return ?
Reyansh: Amma has got some work but appa is here so let us play and I will cook for my muffins and cupcakes. Now go get ready and I will get changed too. ok ?
Aadvi nodded her head cutely and he kissed her forehead before leaving the room not before sending a message to Lakshman.
Reyansh got changed into a shorts and gym vest and reached the living. All his kids were sprawled on the floor playing board games. On seeing him Ishika jumped on his back wrapping her legs around his waist. He turned his face and she planted a kiss on his cheek.
Reyansh: What did my muffin do today ? Did you miss appa ?
Ishika: I missed you a lot appa. I painted the garden in our school campus today. My teacher said I will become an excellent artist in future.
Reyansh: That my princess will be for sure. Show me your painting before you go to sleep. I will add that to my gallery.
He sat on the couch and Ayaan climbed to his lap immediately and Reyansh ruffled his hair.
Reyansh: Shall we go to garden or do you have any other plans ?
Ishaan: Appa, lets go on a bike ride. please.
Ishika: Lets play badminton. Last week you won the game and today I will beat you.
Aadhvika: Appa, swing paa. pleechh
Ayaan: Appa bike..
Reyansh: Alright then lets go to garden and I will take Ishu and Ayu on bike ride first then Aadhvi will play swing and finally my muffin will try to beat me in badminton today. When we are done you will all refresh and do your home works and I will cook dinner today. Its been long time I cooked for you all.
They all are cheered and ran to the garden. Reyansh shook his head at their excitement and followed them. Two hours they spend in the garden playing and enjoying their time with their father. Later they returned to their rooms to refresh and Reyansh entered the kitchen to cook for them. With help of staffs he completed cooking all his children’s favourite. He returned to their room and saw them busy with their school works.
He sat on the couch watching them and helping them with studies. Ayaan who was only in his pre school was playing with blocks and driving his toy car on his sisters and brother’s notebooks.
Before they could finish their works they heard the sound of the anklets which grabbed everyone’s attention. Vaishu entered the room and hugged them all kissing them on their cheeks. They started sharing everything that happened in school that day which included Aadhvika’s crying for the lie.
Reyansh called Lakshman who gave him few gift boxes and they all sat in a round with the gifts placed in the centre.
Reyansh: Shall we reveal the surprise to Aadhvi first ?
Ishaan: but appa didn’t you say that we should earn our gifts ? what did we all do today ?
Reyansh: My muffins and cupcakes behaved very good and supported amma by not disturbing her during the elections so you all deserve a best gift from your appa and amma. But Promise to continue to be good and not hurt anyone. You will also say sorry truly if you are at fault.
Ishaan/ Ishika/ Aadhvika: Yes appa, its a promise we will do as you say and Rey’s muffins/cupcake don’t go back on their promise.
Reyansh and Vaishu passed the gifts to them and Aadhvika jumped on Reyansh looking at the Elsa gown. Ishaan and Ishika received a music rhythmed hoverboard and finally Ayaan received latest model remote controlled car.
Ishaan: appa lets go for a round now. I want to try this.
Vaishu: No Ishu not now. Its late and its our dinner time and you need to finish up with your works. Wake up early and join appa in the gym he will guide you. Now lets go have dinner.
Reyansh carried Aadhvika on his back and Vaishu carried Ayaan on her hip with Ishu and Ishi following them the family reached the dining and had the dinner chatting and feeding.
Once they were done they returned to the kids room and Ishika showed the painting she did for the day.
Vaishu: You did a good job Ishi. We shall frame and add this to your gallery room.
Reyansh: Princess I will be the first model to pose for your live painting.
Ishika: Ofcourse appa. I love you.
Reyansh carried the kids and laid them on the bed.. He and Vaishu sat on either side with Ayaan on Vaishu’s lap. Reyansh started patting them and read stories for them to fall asleep.
Reyansh smiled looking at their sleeping figures and kissed their forehead reminiscing the day they decided to give up a separate room for the kids. Both Reyansh and Vaishu were against the idea of having the kids in a separate room but when Ayaan was born the little one was exactly opposite to his brother and sisters. He stayed awake throughout the night and Ishaan, Ishika and Aadhvika couldn’t sleep and was being cranky all the day. So the couples decided it would be good for the kids to stay in the room next to theirs and Reyansh got it ready in every way they would love with their favourite cartoons, favourite model bed and even did paintings according to their choice. They would stay until they fell asleep and also checked on them couples of time in the middle of the night. They would sleep with them some days until they got used to sleep without their parents.
Reyansh carried Ayaan and Vaishu followed him to their room. Reyansh laid Ayaan on the bed and Vaishu laid next to Reyansh cuddling him.
Reyansh: Look how beautiful how our life has turned out. We have four lovely kids, we have launched our diamond store across world, thousands of children are getting educated through our trust, lakhs of women from the rural and urban across our country are promoting their products through our women entrepreneurship program.
My Avi has become a prominent minister, Mithun and Kajal are married and blessed with Pari. You have become a role model for women and children. And our kids, they are just the way we wanted them to be in their life. I was so happy when Aadhvi cried that she lied. I m so proud of what we are today. I m so proud that we are good parents to our kids.
Vaishu rotated her fist on their faces to ward of the evil eyes making Reyansh chuckle at her antics.
Vaishu: Don’t laugh Mr. husband. Let us not cast evil eyes on ourselves. Now tell me what are the plans for this year vacation. Tomorrow is the last day of their school and annual day celebration too.
Reyansh: How about we spend the vacation in cruise ? Its been years and kids will enjoy a lot.
Vaishu: I will inform Mithun bro, Kajal and Pari to pack.
Reyansh: Do you know what Ishi will be performing tomorrow ? She used to share everything with me but this year she kept it a surprise.
Vaishu: If she said it is a surprise then you should wait for it Ansh.
Reyansh watched the time and suddenly flipped her with a grin.
Reyansh: Wish you happy anniversary Avi.
Vaishu smiled and pulled him closer holding his collars.
Vaishu: Wish you a very happy anniversary Ansh.
Reyansh: It was like I saw you yesterday for the first time but we completed 10 years and stepping into 11.
Vaishu: You say this words every year and just the number has changed.
Reyansh got down and carried her to the closet. He made her to sit on the couch and picked a box and knelt before Vaishu. He opened the box revealing a beautiful bracelet with an angel wings attached to it and clasped it around her wrist.
Reyansh: Angel wings for my angel. Do you like it ?
Vaishu pulled him and locked their lips and he smiled the way she gave her answer. He pushed her on the couch and hovered still continuing the kiss and the rest was history.
Morning when Reyansh woke up he saw Vaishu was drying her hair dressed up in the silk saree he gifted her last night. He watched her braiding her hair and adorning with jasmine flowers. He got down and rushed to her taking a seat before her.
He started adorning her with jewels by himself and kissed her forehead and eyelids.
Reyansh: You look gorgeous Avi. My wife, my angel only mine.
Vaishu pushed to him to get ready and soon he came out dressed in the shirt and pant she bought him. Vaishu clasped a chain around his neck with a locket and kissed his forehead.
Reyansh opened the locket and saw it had Vaishu’s photo on side and the kids photo on the other side.
Reyansh: I love the way you think of everything and everyone. You amaze me with your choice of gifts for me. I love you wifey.
He tried to hug her but Vaishu pushed him out and they reached the kids room and saw they were ready for school.
Ishaan/Ishika/Aadhvika: Happy anniversary amma, appa
The couples kissed their kids and received the cards they gifted them. Soon after the pooja kids left to school and Reyansh took Vaishu to the beach house to spend some time together. They got changed and he cooked for her, took her on a bike ride, they watched movies cuddling on the couch and they made love until they had to leave to reach the school for the annual day celebrations.
The couples arrived at the school as any other parents dressed casually and got seated in the first row. They interacted with other parents casually like any other day when they used to arrive at school to drop and pick up the kids.
All the parents focused on the students who started with their performance one by one. Reyansh and Vaishu beamed with pride when Ishaan did a stunt with silambam. Reyansh threw an air kiss to Aadhvika when she completed reciting a story which Vaishu trained her.
Finally the teacher announced the fancy dress round and students one by one made their way to the stage and did their role.
Reyansh: How long we should wait for Ishi to grace the stage ?
Vaishu turned his face towards the stage and Reyansh couldn’t help but move forward in his seat and he rested his elbows on his knees covering his mouth with his palms as he looked at Ishika who stood there dressed up in his mother’s saree and with all the makeup jewels and hair style she looked like a mini version of his mother. His eye brimmed with tears and he couldn’t avert his eyes from her.
The teacher announced the character she was dressed in and Ishika started her role.
Ishika: Reyu, eppadi irukka ? Ammava miss panniya? Naa unkoodave dhan irukken Kanna. Enakku evlo sandhoshama irukku theriyuma ? Avlo perumaiya irukku unna pakkum podhum. Vaishu apram kozhandhaingala nalla pathukura. Eppavum ippadiye sandhoshama irunga. Happy anniversay Reyu, Vaishu. Naa eppavum unga kooda dhan iruppen. ( Reyu, how are you ? Did you miss amma ? I m with you all times son. Do you know ho happy I am ? I m so proud to see you like this. You take very good care of Vaishu and kids. Be happy forever. Happy wedding anniversary Reyu, Vaishu. I will be with you all forever )
Ishika kissed her palms for him and walked away to the back stage. Reyansh rose to his feet and rushed to back stage with Vaishu tailing him. As soon as he saw Ishi he knelt before her and hugged her to his chest.
Vaishu: Lets go home. Ishi was the last to perform so function has come to an end.
Reyansh nodded and they reached the car with their kids. All the while Reyansh didn’t let go of Ishika from his lap and as they arrived home he made Ishika sit on the couch in the living and laid with his head on her lap. Taking her palm in his hold he showered kisses.
Ishika: My special wishes for your anniversary appa. Did you like it ?
Reyansh: I loved it princess. Avi, didn’t I say my princess is my mother. Look she looks exactly like my mother.
Ishaan: Not exactly appa, she is granny only. Hello Granny..
Ishaan teased and Reyansh pulled Ishaan and started tickling him. Vaishu shook her head on seeing the father and kids indulged in tickling war. Their laughter echoed through out the living. Asha reached the living with refreshments which stopped their war for some time.
Reyansh returned to the room and saw Vaishu was patting Ayaan to sleep.
Reyansh: You knew she was planning this surprise ?
Vaishu: No Ansh, she asked for mom’s saree and I gave her but I didn’t had any idea about this.
Reyansh: She is like you and know exactly how to treat people. She will be a star one day in future.
Vaishu hummed and Reyansh laid on the bed and the door opened with the kids running to the bed. They all settled and started planning for their vacation including Kajal and Pari on a video call.
Reyansh intertwined his fingers with Vaishu’s and winked at her. She blushed and gestured him to look at the kids who were so busy in their chatting.
Reyansh and Vaishu were not perfect couples but they filled the void in each other’s life. Like a light at the end of the dark tunnel they entered each other’s life and slowly and gradually they made a love story for eternity.
Love is all about giving without any expectations in return. They gave their love to each other unconditionally and without expectations, there began the new beginning of their life filled with only love.
