Vaishu was seated on the comfy seat in her home office working on the files while Ishaan entered holding a tray in his hand and placed it on the huge mahogany table passing a smile at her. He moved behind her and started massaging her head but Vaishu removed his hand pulling him before.
Vaishu: Ishu, you know I won’t interfere when your appa does something to discipline you. I love you and your sisters and brother a lot but that doesn’t mean I will support you in everything you do.
Ishaan: Maa, I m so sorry. I promise, I didn’t want that to happen but I lost myself in the heat of the moment.
Vaishu: How old are you Ishu ?
Ishaan: 17
Vaishu: Do you think you could decide everything on your own ? Don’t you think you should have come to us with the issue ? We elders would have handled it.
Ishaan: I agree whatever you say and even accept all your punishment but for one last time help me maa. I m really scared to face appa.
Vaishu: Ohh I see. What about when you both sneak out at nights for long drive. Were you not scared at that time ?
Ishaan: Maa, our appa is the best in the world and the most loving father but he is absolutely an angry alpha when he is mad. I m scared seriously. Last time when I got into a fight with a boy he got pissed and grounded me for a week. God knows what he will do this time.
Vaishu: You still haven’t shared the reason to me Ishu. Never mind and save it to confess to your father. You did waste your time in preparing hot chocolate for me. Go think what you can do to cool him. I m sure he must have got the message already and he might be here anytime to confront you.
Ishaan groaned and walked out of the room. He sat on the couch in the living biting his nails and was checking the front door every now and then.
An hour later Reyansh reached home and entered the living. Ishaan rose to his feet as soon as he saw Reyansh and had his eyes cast on the floor. Reyansh saw all the gadgets of Ishaan was placed on the teapoy before him.
Reyansh: Follow me
Reyansh walked towards his study rolling his sleeves which made Ishaan gulp in fear and once they were in the room Ishaan closed the door and locked it.
Reyansh: Care to explain why you hit those boys Ishaan ?
Ishaan knew he was in deep trouble when Reyansh called him Ishaan rather than muffin, Ishu or prince.
Ishaan: I m sorry paa.
Reyansh: I m not your principal or the parents of those boys to listen to your sorry. I want the reason and think of the consequences before you cook any story. I have my own ways to know reason but I want you to spill it.
Ishaan: Those boys teased Pari and one of them was planning to propose her. I couldn’t stand watch someone teasing her trying to propose her so I lost my mind and hit them.
Reyansh: You are of their age and you should have come to us and we would have handled those boys. Who gave you rights to raise your hand ? Didn’t I make clear that I won’t compromise in your attitudes ?
Ishaan: Appa, I like Pari. I can’t see her with someone else.
Reyansh stayed numb for a moment and cleared his throat.
Reyansh: Like in the sense ?
Ishaan: Like you love our mother.
Reyansh: You are still in your school and do you even know what is love ? Liking someone and fighting everyone for that person is not love Ishu. If you like or love someone truly then you will have to take the place of being a best friend to her. You will make sure you are the reason for the smile on her face and not the reason for the tears she shed, you will not scare her. You will be a rock support for her, she must feel that you are the most comfortable person she could be with and she could share everything with you. In short you must be her home and I don’t have to say the result that the feelings will be mutual then. You will feel that she is your home too.
Even after all you do for her if she decides her future with someone else you will let go of her. You can love her but you cannot force her to love you when she is in love with someone else.
And what did you today ? You scared Pari by thrashing those boys infront of her. This is not some movie that you beat some boys and the girl falls in love. My baby was scared on seeing your rage and I badly wanted to punish you for that alone.
Ishaan: I agree that I m still not in the right age to understand the right meaning of love but what is wrong if I hit them for teasing Pari. I would have done that if they had teased Ishi, Amma or Aadhvi too. I believe you will do the same.
Reyansh: Ofcourse you can do that but when you become an adult not when you are still in your school. Right now we have the responsibilities to handle everything that concerns our children. Am I clear ?
Ishaan: I m sorry paa. I understand and I promise to not repeat this. And about love, I give my word to you that I will not make Pari uncomfortable with my acts. Its my promise to you and Ishaan Rey doesn’t go back on his promise.
Reyansh smiled at his son and seeing him smile Ishaan crashed into his arms hugging his father. Reyansh ruffled his hair chuckling at him.
Ishaan: So you forgave me right paa ?
Reyansh: Yes, still you will be punished. No gadgets for 2 weeks and you are grounded for a week.
Ishaan: This is so unfair paa. Please forgive one last time. I won’t disappoint you.
Reyansh: I had to meet the principal and handle all the mess you have done. Those boys are suspended for 2 weeks. Now its your turn for punishment and there is no going back young man.
Ishaan knew his father won’t change his mind so he nodded his head and walked out of the room to get all his gadgets. He returned to the room and placed them in the draw and locked it passing the key to Reyansh.
Ishaan sauntered to the door and turned to Reyansh with a smirk.
Ishaan: Appa, how did you make amma fall in love with you ? Will you give me some ideas. Please ?
Reyansh: How about you take your Mithun mamu’s help in this alone ?
Ishaan: Paaaaa, I would have happily taken his help if Pari wasn’t his daughter.
Reyansh: There is long way for that Ishu. Go become a man who deserve Pari because not only Mithun but even I will not go easy when it comes to selecting or accepting the man for our darling. You need to prove worth of her. She is no different from Ishi and Aadvi for me so beware of me too.
Ishaan: Not fair paa. You must be on my side.
Reyansh: Everything is fair in love and war my dear prince. Now get back to your studies.
Ishaan ran to his room and Reyansh retired to his room to get refresh. When he walked out of the closet dressed in sweats he saw his other children waiting for him and as soon they saw him they jumped on him.
Reyansh chuckled and kissed their temples before he settled on the couch with Ayaan on his lap, Aadhvi sitting next to him and Ishi massaging his hair.
Reyansh: Before you shoot your questions to know if I roasted your brother then no but I gave him punishment. You won’t share your gadgets with him. Do you get me ?
They hummed and Reyansh ruffled Ayaan’s hair.
Reyansh: Muffin, I know you love your brothers and sister but you shouldn’t support them when they are wrong. Why didn’t you call me immediately when you saw Ishu fighting those boys ?
Ishika: Appa, I m sorry but he hit them because they teased Pari.
Reyansh: but was it ok when Pari was scared at the scenario ?
Ishika: I tried to console her until aunty arrived at the school to pick up her.
Reyansh: The reason might be right princess but you are all our children and too young to go violent. So you deserve punishment and that is you will clean the garden this weekend.
Ishika: Appa, please.
Ayaan: Appa, please…
Reyansh: Cupcake why don’t you help your sisy then ?
Ayaan pouted with a frown and Reyansh chuckled biting his cheeks gently.
Reyansh: Put this in your mind sound and clear that violence is not the solution for any problem. As you grow up you will know how to handle a situation.
With that they started sharing everything happened at school and when they were done and ready to leave the room Reyansh moved the mini fridge and gave them chocolates. A few minutes later Vaishu entered the room yawning.
Reyansh hugged pulled her to his lap and kissed her cheek.
Vaishu: what happened between you and your muffin ? Did he reveal the reason for the fight ?
Reyansh: He said he is in love with Pari.
Vaishu gasped and looked at him while he was laughing at her reaction.
Vaishu: What did you do hearing him ?
Reyansh: I made him understand when and what he should do so don’t worry about him anymore. Also I spoke to Mithun and informed him about Ishu’s budding feelings for Pari. He is more than happy to know that but finally it will be Pari and Ishaan who will decide that in future and not anytime now.
Vaishu: What do you think ?
Reyansh: He is our son and he is growing seeing us how much we are in love and how we care for everyone so he will very responsible when he is an adult. I m very positive about our children and I m happy that we are with them guiding them in the right path.
Vaishu: What did you do to those boys ?
Reyansh: My prince had did what he can do already so I just gave some advice with subtle warning and ofcourse they were suspended for 2 weeks.
Vaishu: Ishu is also suspended for a week.
Reyansh: Collateral damage happens but he won’t repeat what he did today. I thought of going on a dinner with our children but now we will cook something special at home.
Vaishu: If you had planned already then why not take them ?
Reyansh: No, I grounded prince for a week and we can’t go out without him so we shall plan it later.
Vaishu shook her head at his way of punishing children and also being on their positive book.
Vaishu entered the closet to refresh but stopped when Reyansh too followed her.
Reyansh: Don’t give me that look now. Go ahead or I m carrying you. Choice is yours.
Vaishu: Here I thought our children are growing and our son is in love but look here old man couldn’t control himself still.
Reyansh: Excuse me Mrs. Reyansh, did you call me old man ?
Vaishu: I don’t find anyone else here in our room Mr. Reyansh
Reyansh carried her over his shoulder and locked the door of the closet. He dropped her on the couch and hovered her.
Reyansh: Not my problem when I have a temptress teasing me all time.
Vaishu: No, I did no tease you.

Vaishu moved the hair from his forehead and was about to peck there but he caught her nape locking their lips.
An hour later they reached the living and kids were seated around Asha listening the stories of their mother and father from her. Reyansh wrapped his hand around Vaishu’s shoulder and watched his family with content.
