Keshav felt restless looking at her shedding tears without any reaction in her body language. He wiped her tears and pulled her into a hug caressing her hair.
Keshav: I love you so much Myra and its ok if you don’t love me back but please talk to me and I will be happy to be with you. I love you butterfly.
He pulled back from the hug and kissed her forehead and eyes mumbling I love you non stop. His actions stopped abruptly when he heard Myra speaking in the lowest of her voice.
Myra: I love you
Keshav: You what ?
Myra: I love you.
Keshav felt his soul has returned his body and his lips twitched knowing that his love has won. His palm were about to touch her cheek but Myra stopped him swatting it gently.
Myra: Do you know my past ? do you know whom I was in love with ? I want to hear from your words so say it loud.
Keshav: Krish
As soon as the name escaped his lips Myra caught his collars and shook him vigorously.
Myra: No, you are wrong, infact I was wrong. I have been a fool all these years. I loved the guy who fought for me when some idiots bullied me, I fell in love with the guy who thrashed a boy for trying to misbehave with me, I fell in love with the one who took all his time to give me hand made gifts, I saw the love he had for me in those gifts and the time that was spent in making them, I fell in love with the one who gave me my favoruite yellow roses when I met with accident. I fell in love with the K who did everything for me. I fell in love with him when I was just 16.
Keshav froze hearing her words and his heart was thudding against his rib cage. Myra was now crying vigorously with her head on his collarbone.
Keshav: Myra.
Myra raised her head and looked at him with her eyes blood shot eyes. She grit her teeth in rage and pulled him still holding his collar.
Myra: But you know what ? I thought Krish was the one who did everything, I thought he was the one who gave me those gifts and flowers, chocolates and you know what was the result of it ? I started assuming all his actions to be his love for me and I made a fool of myself. I cried over someone I never loved in my life, I cried over someone for leaving for other girl, I was broken into pieces and my heart was shattered for what ? For something that never existed and happened in my life.
Keshav: Myra, I m sorry, I didn’t know that you fell in love with me.
Myra: Don’t ..don’t, you chose to love me in silent all these years so you will be silent today and I will do the talking. If you had mentioned your name instead of that K then we could been together for years now. If you had been open then I would have not felt heart broken and insulted by that bitch for so long. Its not Krish or Roshni’s fault, even its not my fault but you, you are the one responsible for everything. Only you are at fault, its not Krish who broke me but its you Keshav, you broke me, you shattered my heart, you made me give my love to someone else when it belonged to you, you were the reason I gave a different face to the person I fell in love. Its all because of you.
She pushed him and rose to her feet to leave but Keshav was quick on his feet and rushed behind her and took her in a hug from back.
Keshav: Butterfly, I didn’t knew all these would happen. I had reasons for not bringing my love into your limelight. Please little one, I m not justifying my acts but please listen to me. I never did anything because Krish was possessive of you. I didn’t want to hurt him.
Myra: You are right, you didn’t want to hurt your brother so you chose to break me into pieces. Your love for your brother was more than the love you had for me so you chose his happiness only to shatter my soul.
Keshav: No, please don’t say that Myra. You are the only reason I breathe, you are my oxygen little one. Please let me explain, give me a chance.
He turned her to face him and peppered kisses all over face and moved the hair that stick on her tear ridden face.
Myra: For years, I have been living in an illusion. Why didn’t you confess to me if you loved me so much Ketchup ? What did I do to deserve all these pain in my life ? You brothers played well for your own reasons.
Keshav: Myra, please.. please.. please little one, please I agree that I m the only one at fault, it was me who made all the mistakes and you punish me for that but please don’t cry Myra, my heart breaks to see you cry. One of the main reasons I hid my love is I m weak, utterly weak to see you broken but never in my dreams I thought all these would happen and I would be the one breaking you. Come with me, I will tell you everything today.
Myra: Give me some break I had listened and beared enough for the past two days. Drop me at home.
Keshav: I sent message to appa that we will not return home tonight. Lets stay here and don’t you want to know about this home ? This is our home butterfly, I built this with all my love for you and chose everything to your liking. This is your home little one, didn’t you say that I m your king ? I want my queen by my side. Please let us stay here.
Keshav lead her to the room in the ground floor and picked a towel from the wardrobe. He crouched before her and wiped her face with the towel. He cupped her face and placed a kiss on her forehead.
Keshav: I will be back in sometime little one.
He entered the kitchen to get some water for Myra while she was looking around the room. She stood before the mirror and looked at her dull face with smudged eye liner and lipstick. She tied her hair in a bun and opened the draw of the dresser looking for some tissue paper. She saw a box with a satin ribbon tied around it.
Myra pulled out the box out of curiosity and removed the satin to open the box. She gulped and all the tears found its way back to her cheeks as she looked at the cricket cards with her scribblings and a tassel which she thought she had lost along with the first kiss. She picked the tassel reminiscing the day she kissed the man in the dark.
Keshav entered holding a tray with juice and sandwich but stopped on looking at Myra who was holding a tassel in her hand. Myra turned to him and showed the tassel in front his face.
Myra: What does this mean ?
Keshav placed the tray on the dresser and pulled her to sit on the bed and sighged rubbing his face with his palm.
Myra lost her senses feeling betrayed and walked out of the room. Keshav followed her to the living and saw her lost and broken. Myra laid on the couch and closed her eyes in the hope to shut everything that was hurting her at the moment.
Keshav did not disturb her and sat opposite to her watching her back as she was facing the couch. Few hours later Keshav fell asleep from not sleeping from the last night.
In the morning he jolted from his sleep and saw Myra was missing from the couch she was sleeping. He panicked and started searching her in the whole home screaming her name but Myra was not found anywhere.
Keshav saw the door was unlocked and walked out only to see his car missing. He ran to the road and got into an auto. He reached their home and saw the car missing. He entered inside and saw his parents were having their morning coffee.
Archana: Keshav, you are back ? Where is Myra ?
Keshav Mv : Myra is not here ? Where would have she gone ?
Keshav: Maa, I came to take my enfield. Myra wanted to go on ride in it so I m leaving and I will call you back later.
He rushed to their room and left as soon as he picked the keys of his Enfield. He reached Naina’s home to check if she had gone to her home. He pressed the door bell and to his relief Naina opened the door.
Naina: Bro, what a surprise ? Did Myra bring you here ?
Keshav: Did Myra call you in the middle of the night or in the morning ?
Naina: No, but why do you ask ? Where is Myra ? Is she ok ?
Keshav: She is missing. Please call me if you hear from her.
Naina: What happened that made her go missing all of a sudden ? She was stressed too much yesterday.
Keshav: I need to find her, call me if you get to hear from her.
He left from there and Naina got ready quickly to go in search of her. Keshav informed Varun and set a team to search for her. Within an hour they found his car has crossed a few toll gates. Varun drove his car to pick up Keshav and they soon started driving to catch up Myra.
Varun: I think she is heading to Coimbatore. Whom does she know in Coimbatore ?
Keshav: She is on way to Ooty.
Keshav sent a message to Naina that he found Myra and later he called Rakesh to take his help.
Keshav: Rakesh, Myra is on way to Ooty. Send someone to clean up the cottage and arrange food for her. Don’t question her anything and just take care of her. I m on way there.
Without waiting for his reply Keshav cut the call and switched to the driver seat and dropped Varun to the nearest railway station for him to return Chennai.
Naina drove to a park to relax once she received Keshav’s message. She gulped some water and sighed in relief that Myra’s location was found yet she was scared of what could have happened that made her run away from Keshav.
She leaned back on the concrete bench and closed her eyes. A few minutes her mobile started ringing with call from her mother. She groaned and cut the call since they have been pestering her to marry her mother’s nephew.
She was about the leave the park but stopped when she saw Krish sitting under a tree with closed eyes and tears rolling from the corner of his eyes. She quickly sauntered to him and crouched before him. Krish got startled feeling a touch on his shoulder.
Naina: Krish, What are you doing here and why are you crying ?
Krish: Naina.. nothing. I m about to leave.
Naina: Wait, did you meet Myra last night ? You crying here is by anyway connected to Myra’s disappearance ?
Krish: Myra .. is missing ? But bro took her with him last night after what happened. How did she go missing ?
Naina: What happened last night ?
Krish: Nothing..
Naina stopped Krish who was ready to leave and glared at him.
Naina: You better spill the beans or you will regret.
Krish gulped and confessed what he did to Myra and immediately his face turned to the side from the force of the slap landed on his cheek.
Naina: How dare you to hurt her ?
She held his collars and slapped him again. Krish didn’t stop her and fell on the ground sobbing.
Naina: Why did you do this to her ? She trusted you so much and how could you betray her ?
Krish: I was forced to do this for her safety .. for her life…
Naina pulled Krish to sit on the concrete bench and simply placed a pocket knife on his neck threatening him to spill everything but Krish swat her hand.
Krish: I m not scared of death anymore but promise me that you will keep this a secret and I will share with you.
Naina promised and Krish started revealing everything to her.
At Ooty, Myra arrived at the cottage and saw the door open. She parked the car and entered inside, the maid passed a smile to Myra greeting her.
Myra: What are you doing here ? Is someone staying here ?
Maid: No madam, I used to clean the cottage twice a week and take care of the garden but I m surprised to see you here. Get refresh and I will cook a quick meal for you.
Myra: Don’t bother, I m not hungry. Just finish your work and leave. I will call you if I need your help. Don’t inform Rakesh sir about my arrival, I will meet him myself.
Maid hummed and left from there. Myra took bath and changed into Keshav’s shirt and shorts that she packed when she left from their home. She laid on the bed looking at his photo in her mobile and dozed off being exhausted from driving for a long time.
By evening she woke up to the clattering of the vessels. She refreshed and entered the kitchen and was not surprised to see Keshav cooking. Looking at her he opened his arms with a smile and bobbed his head. Myra ran into his embrace and Keshav wrapped his arms around crushing her in his embrace and kissed her hair.
