Recarp: Vikram  and Sana with her friends headed towards Taj

****************************

Vikram reached the hotel and walked straight into the hall where the press was assembled. There was a lot of commotion before his arrival, but the moment he entered, the atmosphere turned silent. All eyes were on him. His PA stood next to him, ensuring order.

“Welcome, everyone. Thank you for turning up at this time. Over to you,” the PA announced.

The press took turns asking questions.

“Congratulations, Mr. Vikram! You have been awarded the title of the youngest successful CEO of the nation. What is your secret to achieving this?” one reporter asked.

“Thank you. My dreams are my secret,” Vikram replied calmly.

Another reporter inquired, “Why did you choose to build your business independently when your father is already a well-established businessman?”

“That is his business. I survive for myself. I wanted to be known for who I am rather than as my father’s son.”

“Is there anyone behind your success?” another journalist probed.

“My employees.”

“What advice do you have for young entrepreneurs?” reporter continued with his question.

“Don’t listen to advice.” vikram kept it short.

“What is your motto for success?”

Vikram smiled at the question. “Nourish your mind. Ignite your soul. Multiply your success with deep insights.”

A journalist commented, “All your answers are precise. Any reason in particular?”

“There are more successful people to speak elaborately.” Vikram spoke straight on point.

“The most eligible bachelor and handsome hunk is still not married. Are you in love?” another reporter asked, drawing chuckles from the crowd.

“No. But I love to love.” Vikram said it in simple words.

“What are your thoughts on love?”

“That, I would express only to the girl who will be my life.” Vikram’s words carried deep meaning.

Vikram signaled his PA to conclude the meet and left after thanking the press.

Meanwhile, Sana and her friends reached the hotel and headed to the garden restaurant, where Rakshat had reserved a table.

Sana looked around in awe. “Rakhs, this place looks amazing! Now, shall we go meet him? Please?”

“We will, but not now,” Rakshat replied. “Let him finish the press meet and let the crowd disperse. He will walk out alone, and you’ll get a better look at him. You can also see him from here when he leaves.”

Sana beamed. “Aww, you really thought this through. Thank you so much!”

“You can thank me later. Now, place your order.”

Sana ordered, “Mushroom biryani for the main course and crème brûlée for dessert.”

“Spaghetti carbonara with Coke,” Priyanka said.

“Same for me,” Sam added.

They enjoyed their dinner. Suddenly, Sana’s eyes fell on a firefly, and she got up to follow it. Meanwhile, Vikram stepped out of the hall, answering a phone call, and unknowingly walked in the same direction. The area was dark except for the glow of the firefly.

Vikram noticed a girl watching the firefly but couldn’t see her face in the darkness. He ended his call and stepped closer. Sana turned to leave but was startled to see someone near her. She moved back, stumbled, and fell onto Vikram. He instinctively caught her by the waist, but they both lost balance and fell onto the grass.

For a moment, time seemed to freeze. Sana was the first to snap out of it. She tried to get up but realized that her pendant had gotten tangled with Vikram’s blazer chain. Her heart pounded was this a sign from her mother? She struggled to untangle it when Vikram’s phone rang again. The light from his phone illuminated his face.

Her breath hitched. It was Vikram!

Just then, she heard footsteps approaching. Hastily, she unhooked her chain, left it with him, and prepared to leave.

Back at the table, Sam grew concerned. “It’s been a while. Let me go find Sana.”

“Do it fast, Sam,” Rakshat urged.

“I’ll be back with her soon.”

As Sam went to search for Sana, Priyanka’s phone rang. The caller ID read “Unknown.”

She picked up. “Hello?”

A distorted voice responded, “Go to the backyard now. Vikram is there with Sana.”

Priyanka frowned. “What will I do there now when she’s already with him?”

“Just go. You’ll know what to do.”

Curious yet anxious, Priyanka hurried towards the backyard. Her eyes widened when she saw Sana and Vikram lying on the grass, tangled together. Rage simmered within her, and she hid behind a tree.

Sana wanted to speak to Vikram, but Sam reached her first and pulled her away.

“Sam, let me go! He’s calling me!”

“Sana, look around!” Sam whispered urgently. “There are reporters everywhere. If they see you with him, it’ll create unnecessary attention.”

With a heavy heart, Sana allowed Sam to lead her away.

Once Sana left, Priyanka stepped forward. Vikram had just ended his call when he saw a figure returning. Thinking it was Sana, he smiled and walked toward her.

“Hi!” he greeted. “I just wanted to say sorry.”

Priyanka feigned surprise. “No, please don’t be.”

“I shouldn’t have startled you in the dark. You seemed scared.”

“It’s okay. You didn’t do it intentionally, right?”

Vikram frowned slightly. “Why do I feel like I’ve heard your voice before?”

Priyanka smiled. “Yeah, I feel the same.”

“We should move into the light so we can see each other.”

They stepped into the glow of the garden lights. Vikram was momentarily stunned. “Oh! Hi! Meeting you for the third time today.”

Priyanka gasped in mock surprise. “Oh my God! I’m shocked too.”

“I’m Vikram. Mind introducing yourself?”

“Who wouldn’t know you?” she said with a playful smile. “I’m Priyanka. I’m here with my friends for dinner.”

“Good. Enjoy your time. I’ll leave now. Bye.”

Priyanka returned to the table, smiling smugly. Sana and Sam were already there, waiting for her.

“Sana, what if someone from the press had seen you?” Sam asked, still worried.

“But they didn’t,” Sana replied confidently.

Rakshat interrupted. “What happened? Why are you two bickering?”

Sana sighed dreamily. “Raksh bro, I saw Vikram, but I couldn’t talk to him. If I had spoken, he would have seen  me.”

“Why didn’t he see you?” Rakshat asked, puzzled.

“It was too dark,” Sana explained. “But you know what? I’m so happy. I found my soulmate. My mom showed him to me. My Vikram, he is my soulmate.”

Rakshat grinned. “Wow, so you finally admit he’s more than just a crush.”

Sana nodded. “Yes. Now, the task is for him to realize how much I like him.”

Priyanka’s expression soured.

“Hey, Priya, where did you go?” Sana asked.

“I wasn’t out searching for a soulmate,” Priyanka said dryly. “I just went to the restroom. By the way, where’s your chain?”

Sana giggled. “My mom is with my soulmate.”

Priyanka scowled. “Girl, what are you blabbering? That chain was a gift from your mother! You just got it today!”

Sana beamed. “Yes, and now it’s with my darling Vikram.”

Rakshat chuckled. “Oh wow, someone is in la-la land.”

Priyanka, however, was fuming inside. Why didn’t Vikram mention the chain? she wondered bitterly.
