Recap: Vikram and Sana are married.

———————————————————-

All the television channels and social media platforms flashed pictures of Vikram and Sana. They were officially married. Priya sat frozen, watching the news. She never thought this would happen. She felt as if she had lost her game, and now, nothing remained.

At the hospital the next day:

Vikram, Sana, Rakshat, and Sana’s father waited outside the hospital room. The doctor called Vikram aside.

“Doctor, how is my father now? Is he okay?” Vikram asked, his voice edged with worry.

“As of now, he is stable, but we will observe him for the next forty-eight hours. Ensure that he doesn’t undergo any stress.”

“Thank you, doctor. Thank you so much.”

“It’s my duty, Vikram. Take care. You may all leave now and get some rest before returning.”

Krishnan turned to Vikram. “Your dad is better now. You should leave home with Sana and return after some rest. I will stay until you come back.”

“It’s okay, Uncle.”

“Call me Dad,” Krishnan insisted. “You’ve married my daughter and from now on you hold the place of my son.”

Vikram hesitated for a moment before nodding. “Sure… Dad.”

As Vikram and Sana left the hospital for Vikram Mansion, neither of them spoke nor even glanced at each other. Upon reaching home, Vikram called the maid and instructed her to assist Sana before retreating to his study. Immediately, he dialed Priyanka’s number but her phone was switched off. He grew restless.

Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Krishnan entered the ward to meet Lakshmikanthan.

“Lakshmi, how do you feel now?” he asked.

Lakshmikanthan chuckled. “What would happen to me? I am doing perfectly fine.”

Krishnan smirked. “I have never seen an actor like you.”

“At least we succeeded in our plan. That’s what matters.” Lakshmikanthan said sitting leaning on the hospital bed.

Krishnan nodded. “We should be thanking the doctor first.”

The doctor smiled. “Please don’t thank me. I have known Lakshmi sir for years, and I owe him this.”

Lakshmikanthan, still grinning, responded, “Still, this is something huge that you have done for us.”

The doctor waved off the gratitude. “Enough of all the thanks. Stay in the hospital for a week, and I’ll prescribe some vitamins to continue once you return home.”

“Alright, but for now, I am starving. Treat me before Vikram returns.”

Krishnan laughed. “Of course! Time for a celebration.”

As planned, Vikram’s father was discharged within a week. Vikram, however, never entered his own bedroom since Sana occupied it. He continued calling Priyanka but couldn’t reach her. The media swarmed outside, making it impossible for him to leave and find her.

Fifteen days later, Vikram finally received a call. He answered immediately, only to hear an unfamiliar voice it was Priyanka’s roommate, informing him that she had been admitted to the hospital.

Panic surged through him. Covering his face to avoid media attention, he rushed to the hospital, unaware that this too, was a setup. Entering the ward, he saw Priyanka lying pale and weak.

Her friend whispered, “She took poison.”

Vikram clutched his hair and slumped onto the chair beside the bed. Moments later, Priyanka stirred, putting on an act of waking up.

“Priya! Why did you do this?” he demanded.

“I’m sorry… I didn’t know what else to do,” she whimpered.

Vikram sighed. “My father asked me to marry Sana when he was hospitalized with a severe heart attack. I thought I was going to lose him… I had no other option.”

Priyanka began sobbing.

“Priya, listen. Believe me. Give me some time. Once my father is back to normal, I will divorce her. Until then, don’t do anything like this again. I’m already drowning in guilt.”

She wiped her tears. “I believe you, Vikram. I won’t do anything stupid.”

“Take care. I’ll call you.” Vikram muttered and walked out of th room.

Two weeks passed, but nothing changed. Vikram never spoke to Sana and immersed himself in work. One morning, during breakfast, Vikram, Sana, and Lakshmikanthan sat at the dining table. Suddenly, Sana fainted.

The doctor arrived and examined her. “Congratulations, Vikram. You’re going to be a father.”

Vikram stood frozen. His mind reeled, he had never even touched her.

Lakshmikanthan beamed. “Thank you, doctor! Vikram, congratulations, my boy! I’m so happy! Sana, you need plenty of rest now. I must go share this wonderful news with your father. I want to see the happiness in his face. Vikram, take care of her. She needs you now.”

Sana stood in front of the mirror in her room, placing a hand over her abdomen. Tears streamed down her face in joy. But before she could revel in the moment, Vikram stormed in, grabbing her hair roughly.

“You cheat! How dare you?!” he roared.

“Vikram, please! Leave me! You’re hurting me!”

“Do you even know how much I’m suffering? I feel disgusted just standing in front of you!” Vikram spoke disgusting her.

“Vikram, listen to me. I can explain!” Sana tried but he was nowhere to listen her words.

“Don’t you dare speak a word! I want a divorce. I’ll get the papers, and you will sign them. Got it?!” Vikram roared once again.

Sana pleaded, “Vikram, please, just give me a chance to explain.”

Vikram stormed out. That evening, as fate would have it, his father met with a tragic accident on his way back from Sana’s house. He was rushed to the ICU.

When the doctor came out, Vikram asked anxiously, “Doctor, how is my father?”

The doctor sighed. “We are doing our best, Vikram, but the chances are slim. He wants to meet Sana.”

Sana hurried inside and held her father in law’s hand. “Dad, please don’t worry. Nothing will happen to you.”

Lakshmikanthan grasped her hand weakly. “Sana, I have little time. Promise me you will never leave Vikram, no matter what.”

Tears welled in her eyes. “I promise, Dad. I will not leave him. Please calm down. Let me call the doctor.”

Lakshmikanthan smiled faintly. “I’m happy my Vikram is no longer alone. Call him.”

Sana stepped out and called Vikram in.

Vikram sat beside his father. “Dad, please stay strong. Nothing will happen to you.”

“Be happy, Vikram…”, Lakshmikanthan mumbled and exhaled his last breath.

Soon the news was over the media and Vikram performed his last rites.

Present:

Vikram’s rage knew no bounds. He slapped Priyanka hard. Grabbing her by the hair, he slammed her against the table.

“I trusted you with my life, and this is what you did?”

“I’m sorry, Vikram! Please forgive me! I will never come into your life again! Please let me go!” Priyanka begged him for mercy.

His voice was deadly. “Not so soon. My Sana loved me with her life and heart, but you disgusting bitch, took advantage of her. I treated her horribly because of you, yet she stayed. I will kill you.”

“Please… I’ll never interfere again!” Priyanka pleaded miserably.

“Who helped you?!” Vikram asked her gritting his teeth

“I don’t know! I swear!”

His bloodshot eyes darkened as he pressed his foot against her throat. Her hands flailed. Her breath hitched. He showed no mercy.
