Chapter 10

Recap: Vaishu reveals her past to Asha. Reyansh gets raged on hearing it and decides to not let her go away from him.

Reyansh saw Vaishu shaking a rattle and laughing looking at the babies. Earlier when he heard her laughing over the phone for the first time he badly wanted to see her in person and get that smile etched in his heart. Like his dream came true he stood watching her laughing and talking in a baby voice. Mithun knocked on his head and he came out of the trance.

Reyansh knocked on the door but Mithun entered just like that making Reyansh whine like a kid in his mind. He followed Mithun and Vaishu stood with her head lowered on seeing Reyansh in the room.

Reyansh Mv: Naa vandha sirikka koodadhu nu rule portukena enna ? Konjam sirichirukalam ennayum paathu. ( Did I impose a rule that she shouldn’t smile on my arrival ? She could have smiled a little towards me )

Mithun: We got held up with some work so got late. Did our muffins miss us ?

Reyansh hit on Mithun’s head for calling them muffins and Mithun pouted taking Ishaan in his arms. Reyansh carried Ishika and saw from his peripheral view Vaishu smiling towards them. She saw them leaving the room with the babies and knew she would be free for another one or two hours or atleast until the babies start crying in hunger.

Reyansh reached his room and laid on the bed with Ishika next to him and saw Mithun on the couch.

Reyansh: Hey idiot bring my boy here.

Mithun: You have Ishika so I will have Ishaan. Don’t disturb our boys time.

Reyansh got down from the bed and took Ishaan from Mithun and laid him next to Ishika before he joined them. He propped on his elbow and smiled at them who were also looking at him. He leaned and pressed a kiss on their forehead and pressed their chin and nose with his forefinger.

Reyansh: Did my muffins miss me today ? I m sorry for being late. From tomorrow I will be on time.

Mithun smiled looking at Reyansh and the babies and clicked few photos of them together.

Reyansh: Your mother has given you nick names is it ? Ishu and Ishi, sounds good. I will also call you the same but muffins is my favourite. Wow Mithun, look at their costumes. Twinning with bear printed onesies…You both look so adorable muffins. You know I have seen a bunny jumpsuit and will get that designed specially for you.

Mithun: Get one for you too. I will click photos of you three and make a portrait to hang on the wall opposite to your bed.

Reyansh: One for you too. A secret play time of us then..

He raised their hands made a hifi and kissed their palms.

Mithun: You should learn to change diapers Rey, what if you had take care of Ishu babies for more time then you should know that.

Reyansh: you are right. Get some diapers and a doll we will learn tomorrow at office.

Mithun: Why not at home ?

Reyansh: What if Vaishu see us ?

Mithun: As if she will enter your room.

After an hour Reyansh saw Ishika sucking her fist and smiled taking her in his arms.

Reyansh: She is hungry and now doesn’t want to cry because I will leave her with Vaishu.

Mithun: Its been 1 and half hours you have been keeping them with you Rey. Come lets go enough for today.

Reyansh: Can we bring them back after Vaishu feeds them ?

Mithun glared at him and they reached the guest room and gave Ishaan and Ishika to Vaishu.

Reyansh: Shall I wait outside to burp them or do you want me to call Asha maa ?

Vaishu blinked not knowing what to reply. Will he feel bad if she wanted Asha maa or would it be wrong holding him to assist her.

Vaishu: As you wish…

Reyansh: I will wait outside with Ishaan and you carry on with Ishika first. She is more hungry than Ishaan.

Mithun opened his mouth and looked at Reyansh. Once they were out Mithun whistled at Reyansh.

Mithun: Ishika told you that she is more hungry than Ishaan ?

Reyansh: Yes, not through words but I can feel that communication. You won’t understand that.

Mithun: I doubt if a real father will be understanding like you. I have a doubt.. What will you do if you have to travel for your business purpose ?

Reyansh: Destiny had planned everything that is why I have you as my next in line to run business. So if there is a need to fly then you will do that and take care of business while I will stay with my muffins.

Mithun: romba over da idhellam. ( this is too much man )

Reyansh: Ishaan tell your Mithun uncle that everything is fair in love and war. Tell him you will not allow me anywhere leaving you and Ishika alone. and your mother too.

He said the last part audible only to him and Ishaan. Vaishu wiped Ishika’s mouth and now she wanted Ishaan so she called Mithun.

Vaishu: Mithun anna, Ishaan kondu varingala ? ( Mithun bro, will you bring Ishaan ?)

Mithun smirked hearing her words and raised his collars looking at Reyansh.

Mithun: You love your muffins but their mother is my sister and friend. She will call only me and even speak only with me. Get lost loser…

Reyansh glared at him and entered the room lowering Ishaan to the bed. Vaishu came forward and passed Ishika to him and Reyansh couldn’t control his smile as he walked out patting her back gently.

Once they were out Reyansh laughed at Mithun.

Reyansh: Your best friend and sister might not talk to me but I m her first priority when it comes to my muffins. Get lost loser…

He stopped talking when Ishika burped puking a little milk.

Reyansh: She always does this. Is it common for babies to puke like this or should we consult doctor ?

He wiped her mouth and he could smell milk when he kissed her cheeks. His ears turned red of blushing to the dirty thoughts and he cursed his mind to stop being a creep.

Asha took Ishika from Reyansh and applied a little paste from the stem of sweet flag and applied it around her belly.

Reyansh: Asha maa enna adhu ? Yen papa ku adha poduringa ? Edhuvum allergy vara pogudhu venam podadhinga.                                                                                                                          ( Asha maa, what is that ? Why do you apply it for baby ? Don’t apply it. It may cause some allergy )

Asha: Idhukku peru pillai marundhu. Kozhandhainga nalla thoonguvanga apram serimanam agum. Konja naal kalichu paal la kalandhu kuduppom. Onnum agadhu.                                            ( This is stem of sweet flag plant. Babies will sleep well and have good digestion. After few days we will feed them this on mixing with milk. Nothing will happen )

Reyansh: You will give them to drink mixing in milk ? Can they be fed other milks ?

Asha: No, we will mix with mother’s milk.

Reyansh Mv: mother’s milk ? Ohh .. idiot there are ways to extract milk so they will do by that. Now shut your thoughts.

Asha: I will leave Ishika to Vaishu and you both come to have dinner.

Reyansh nodded his head and entered the dining with Mithun. Asha returned to the kitchen and made appam to them and served them.

Mithun: She has magic in her hands Rey. Asha aunty will you be jealous if I praise Vaishu ?

Asha: Go ahead. Some one did that already in the morning.

Reyansh: Asha maa, thank you so much for what you did today. Please take care of her in my absence. She deserves all the happiness in the world.

Asha: Will you give her ?

Reyansh: If she is my destiny then everything will fall in place. Tell her I loved the dinner.

Asha: I m not a messenger. Go tell her yourself. How long will this go on and someone has to make the first move. Don’t you think you should be the first to do it ?

Mithun: May be I will help but what will I get in return ?

Reyansh: Your favourite Rolls Royce Phantom worth 11 crore or the beach house.

Mithun: Rolls Royce…

Reyansh: Done but offer valid only for 24 hours. All the best.

Mithun: too much time. I will finish this in the morning.

Reyansh knew Mithun will do anything for his car collection and now he couldn’t wait for the morning. He returned to his room and laid on the bed discarding his shirt. He closed his eyes inhaling the fragrance of the baby powder that lingered on his bed. Placing his cheek over there he closed his eyes and hugged a pillow close to him imagining his muffins and the one with those innocent eyes haunting him recently.

He rolled over to his back and something hard pressed on his back. He sat and and saw a rattle that woke him up. He shook it giggling like a crazy fellow.

Reyansh: What are you doing to me little ones and adding to whatever you are doing to me, your mother is making me go mad with her doe eyes. You people have come into my life with a plan for sure. You must be sleeping peacefully but here I am waiting for the sun to light the world and your mother to light my life.

He hugged the rattle to his chest and slept with a hope for a new beginning.
