Chapter 19

Recap: Reyansh confess his feelings to Vaishu but she runs away from him.

Two days passed by with Reyansh trying to flirt with Vaishu and she avoiding his talks. Mithun returned to office to handle business and Reyansh worked from his study now and then.

Vaishu laid Ishaan and Ishika in the crib in the dining and worked in the kitchen to cook lunch even after Reyansh denied her from cooking. Reyansh was in his study attending a conference call with the clients. Half way through the meeting he made a call through intercom to contact someone in the kitchen. Vaishu answered the call and a smile appeared in his lips.

Reyanshu: Avi darling can you get me a cup of coffee. My head is aching terribly.

She hummed and cut the call. She made a coffee and took some tablets along with pain relief balm and knocked on the door. On hearing his voice calling her she entered the room and placed the tray before him.

It was an audio call so he just put the call on mute and looked at her.

Vaishu: Take the tablets and apply some balm you will feel relief. Lunch will be ready and you can come once the call is over.

She turned to leave but he stopped holding her wrist.

Vaishu: Reyansh, leave my hand. Please don’t these things.

Reyansh: Ok, I won’t do but will you please massage my head a little with the balm. Its aching terribly and I couldn’t concentrate on the call. Please Avi, consider me as a patient and do this.

Vaishu thought of the time he had taken care of her when she fell ill and she could see the real pain from his expression. Moreover her heart ached to see him pain so she nodded and took a pinch of the balm and applied it on his forehead. Since his posh seat had a long back she couldn’t do it from behind so she stood next to him and slowly massaged his forehead and the sides giving relief to him.

The call was long forgotten when all he could see was only her in a close proximity. He cast his eyes down and saw the pallu tucked to her waist. He untucked it and covered her waist with her saree. Vaishu glared at him and he shrugged simply.

Reyansh: Don’t glare at me. Your waist was distracting me so I just covered it from my eyes. If you want then I will keep it like before.

She tried to move away but he stopped her and tucked her pallu in her waist his fingers brushing her skin in the process. Vaishu gasped and he controlled his smile keeping his face like it was nothing. He placed her palm over his forehead to continue the massage and closed his eyes but Vaishu backed off.

Vaishu: Take the tablet and finish the coffee to get relieved from the headache.

Knowing very well she will run again he held her hand and took a box from his draw and placed it in her palm.

Vaishu: What is this ?

Reyansh: I don’t know. May be you will know once you open it.

Vaishu opened the box and saw a new apple mobile in it. she closed the box again and returned it to him.

Vaishu: I don’t have anyone to make calls so I don’t need this.

Reyansh: May be you will need this to call me when I m at office.

Vaishu: Why will I call you ?

Reyansh: Won’t you call me when you miss me ? Alright you don’t call me but I will call you when I miss you.

Vaishu: Reyansh, finish the call and we will talk. This can’t be going like this. Please I beg you.

Reyansh understood she was serious and nodded his head. Still holding her hand he spoke to the people to continue the meeting later and ended the meeting.

Vaishu: That was your work call.

Reyansh: It can wait and I decide when to have a call and not them so don’t worry about that and tell me what do you want us to talk.

Vaishu: Reyansh, you might have been bad once but what you are today is genuine and good that you will find someone to your match. Trust me I m nowhere to match your standards. People will make fun of you. For god sake I m married, divorced and I have two babies whose father has abandoned them and me. We are good like this and if want I will go somewhere away from you.

Reyansh stood from his seat in a force pushing the seat behind and his grip on her hand tightened.

Reyansh: Tell me the reason why can’t we be together and don’t you dare think of leaving me. Did you hear me ? You can’t leave me Avi.

Vaishu: We can’t live forever here Reyansh. You need a family, a girl who will love you and give you everything you need in your woman, you will want to have child of your own not just being a father to someone’s children.

Reyansh: I have a family Avi. A girl who will care for me and that is you, I have my kids Ishaan and Ishika will be my babies. Don’t forget I was the one to hold them first, it was my hand they held first so don’t you ever think of keeping them away from me.

Vaishu: That is what I m saying Reyansh. You want us to be together because you want Ishaan and Ishika with you. Your feelings for me is nothing but a pity and you want your muffins so you want me in your life.

Reyansh: How could you easily belittle my feelings for you Avi ? Do you want to know what I feel for you ? Do you want to know the reality of what you do to me ? Then listen…

When I saw you on the road the first thing I saw was your eyes. They were so captivating yet held so much pain and screamed at me to save you and protect you. I felt a spark in me for the first time and I thanked god that he finally showed mercy on me and sent you to me. I didn’t knew anything about you then but I wanted you in my life.

Later I saw you were pregnant, it was like god failed me again. I felt like he gave a little hope only to crush my heart once again. I cursed god that night again for bringing you in front of me when he had made you someone’s already.

I felt broken that night that you couldn’t be mine. I took you to the hospital and I didn’t even know I was holding your hand until the door was closed and the nurse wanted me to let go of your hand. I felt my eyes tear up seeing you cry in pain. I don’t know if you remember but you were holding my hand and our fingers were interlaced until you were taken to the labour room. Do you know how much I was scared until you gave birth to muffins ? Do you know how I felt when I carried Ishaan and Ishika in my arms ?

I thought if I had only met you early then they could have been mine. Avi, they would have been my babies. The happiness I felt when I held them couldn’t be explained.

Call me selfish but a part of me wished that no one turns up in search of you and I could take you and the babies with me. I don’t know what the fucking feeling was at that moment but I felt I was not alone anymore. My mother has given you all to me. I could have left you at the hospital after the babies were born but I couldn’t leave you or the babies. After Asha maa told me that you were divorced I felt happy that still I had a chance to mend my life.

Yes, being a playboy was my choice and I did let women in my personal space because in reality I was searching for someone who could really love me for who I am and not just be with me for my money and fame. May be the first woman whom I met was you or someone like you then my life would have been what I m today.

I know you trust me Avi, because not once you locked the doors of your room even after knowing I had been a playboy and you even knew I had entered your room every night to look after Ishaan and Ishika and you may not know but I come for you too.

Do you remember the night we started our night dates ? I said about me coming home for Ishaan and Ishika but in real I come for you too Avi. I want you too to wait for me and I m yearning for it. Avi, if my past is what is stopping you then I m ready for any punishment you give me but give me a chance. If a human who has made blunder in his life doesn’t deserve a second chance then what should he do ? Should I die to prove that I have changed and will never go back to that life ?

Vaishu: Anshhhhh, I will never judge you with your past and every human deserve a second chance in life if he has realized his mistake and ready to repent for it.

Reyansh: Then what is stopping you Avi ? Give us a chance Avi, we can be family. I will be a man you wanted in your life, I will be the best dad to my muffins. You may not agree to my words but they are my babies and will be mine forever. I will shower you three with all my love from my heart.

Vaishu: There is no doubt that you will be the man I want in my life but I can’t be the woman you will need in your life. so please change your mind for your own good.

Reyansh: You are everything I want in my life Avi. Why can’t you understand that we complete each other ? We both need us Avi.

Vaishu yanked her hand from his hold and sobbed tired of explaining him.

Vaishu: You will hate me after knowing my past Ansh. Please understand.

Reyansh: I know your past Avi. I don’t give a fuck about it. You are my present and I want you as my future.

Vaishu: You don’t know my past Reyansh because I never told my complete past to Asha maa that day.

Reyansh saw her sobbing and poured a glass of water and made her drink. Vaishu took a few sip and he gulped the remaining water from where she sipped. He made her sit on his seat and he sat opposite to her on the table.

Reyansh: I don’t want to know your past Avi. It doesn’t really matter to me. Just tell me you will give us a chance. Please Avi.

Vaishu gave up and started screaming at him.

Vaishu: Ansh, I can be anything you want me to be in your life but I can’t be your wife. God has given me a cursed life and I can’t give you anything that a wife should give her husband.
