Aakash was at his office but his thoughts were completely on his wife. The glow and the smile on his face made him look devilishly handsome, especially after he had changed his appearance following his marriage to Meenakshi.
He leaned back in his seat and opened his mobile gallery to look at the photo of his wife that he had clicked before leaving for the office. She had been walking out of the room when he called her name and clicked the picture at the exact moment she turned to look at him.
She looked gorgeous in the yellow saree. The slight twist of her waist revealed the soft folds that always drove him crazy and made him want to rush back to her but he knew better.
It had been three days since they had been intimate. With the family constantly around them and their room far from soundproof, they had been controlling themselves. The tension between them was intense and with little touches, stolen kisses and quiet cuddles, they had somehow been surviving. Yet they both craved each other deeply.
Aakash walked out to get a cup of coffee to calm his mind and noticed the staff looking at him. Usually, they would mind their own business and speak to him only for official matters. But recently, they had been smiling at him and even initiating conversations.
Aakash realized it was all because of his new appearance. Unlike Meenakshi, none of them knew the real him.
” My wife is the best. She is the kindest person in the world”, he thought while sipping his coffee and the smile never left his face.
By evening, he drove back home. On the way, he stopped when he noticed a woman selling flowers. He bought Meenakshi’s favorite jasmine and continued driving home. He couldn’t wait to see his wife and her smile, the moment she see him.
Meenakshi was folding clothes when he entered the room. He closed the door behind him and hugged her tightly from behind and kissed the nape of her neck.
Meenakshi bit her lip to hide her smile and turned to face him within his embrace.
“You look happy, Accountant Sir. Did something happen?” she asked while unbuttoning his shirt.
Aakash rested his arms on her shoulders. “Just seeing you makes me happy. And nothing has happened for the past three days. I was wondering if something might happen tonight,” he mumbled and kissed her cheek.
“What if we get caught? It would be so embarrassing,” she replied, pinching his cheek.
Aakash huffed lightly and pressed his forehead against hers, “I looked up for a little help from Google and found out that, on average, a man lasts for three to seven minutes. I love hearing your moans but how about we find a way to stay quiet?” he said while removing his shirt.
Meenakshi nodded her head. But when he tried to hug her again, she pushed him gently toward the bathroom.
“Where are Rajesh and Sharmi? I didn’t see them in the hall,” he asked while picking up his track pants and towel.
“They have gone out for a movie and dinner. Uncle, aunty and Lavanya have already had their dinner. It’s only you and me,” she said, placing the folded clothes in the wardrobe. Aakash stood watching her with a slight frown.
“Did he get a job?” he asked and Meenakshi shook her head.
“No, the same routine. He went for an interview in the morning and came back home for lunch. Sharmi was bored at home, so aunty gave them some money to go out,” she explained.
“Go freshen up and come quickly. I will make chapathi for us. I’ve prepared your favorite paneer masala,” she added before walking out of the room.
Aakash sat on the bed, lost in thought.
” What is happening here? He is married and still hasn’t found a job, yet no one seems bothered to put some sense into him. When he was single, it didn’t matter if the family took care of his needs. But now he has a wife. It is his responsibility to take care of her ” he thought and sighed before entering the bathroom to fresh up.
When he entered the kitchen, he saw Meenakshi rolling the dough. He quietly stood beside her and began flipping the chapathis on the pan.
They were having dinner together when Balaram walked out of his room to get some water.
“Did you take your tablets, Appa?” Aakash asked and Balaram nodded his head with a smile.
“Aakash, I think uncle’s tablets will last only for two more days. Please buy them on your way back home tomorrow,” Meenakshi said and immediately Aakash nodded his head.
Balaram felt a pang of guilt seeing his son and daughter-in-law working tirelessly for the family, yet often being treated like outsiders in their own home. He didn’t want to interrupt their little time and returned to the room quickly.
Later, Aakash and Meenakshi returned to their room. He handed her the jasmine flowers he had bought for her. Meenakshi stood before the mirror and pinned the flowers into her hair with a soft smile.
After a while, they lay together, cuddling. Aakash gently kissed the nape of her neck while she spoke about her day.
Once their conversation ended, Aakash turned her toward him and captured her lips in a deep kiss that lingered for a long moment.
“Let’s try to be quiet… shall we?” he whispered and Meenakshi’s shy smile was all the answer he needed.
He kissed her waist, the same place that had been tormenting his thoughts all day and she bit her lip to stop a moan from escaping.
Slowly, he loosened her saree and pressed soft kisses along her neck. Soon they were wrapped in each other’s embrace. Aakash took his time, cherishing every moment with her. Whenever she was about to make a sound, he gently hushed her and both of them tried their best to remain quiet in the silent house.
He thrust inside her and stayed still catching his breathe.
“Just bite me whenever you feel like appreciating me with your moans,” he whispered with a playful wink before moving against her.
He leaned forward and buried his face in her neck as he continued to move with growing urgency. Meenakshi could no longer hold back and bit his shoulder softly. Instead of stopping him, it only fueled his desire further and he let out a low grunt as he picked up the pace.
“Bite me more, Meena,” he murmured in his husky voice.
Meenakshi gently bit his chest and pressed her palm against his strong, sculpted back, holding him close. Their desire was raw and passionate, filled with the intensity they had been holding back for the past three days.
Finally, when they both reached their peak, Aakash collapsed beside her and still held her close. His hand remained protectively over her bosom as if it were the most precious treasure in the world.
Meenakshi rested her head on his chest while Aakash gently wiped the sweat from her forehead.
“How about we buy an air cooler?” he asked after a moment.
“At least I work in an air-conditioned room but you stay here all day and can’t even sleep peacefully in this summer heat. Tomorrow I’ll visit a showroom and check for one.” he spoke with concern, wanting her to be comfortable at night but Meenakshi quickly shook her head, refusing the idea.
Suddenly, they heard Balaram coughing. Meenakshi quickly slipped into her nightdress and Aakash wore his track pants and vest before both of them rushed out of the room.
“Appa, what happened? Didn’t you take your tablets?” Aakash asked, gently patting his father’s back.
Padma was sitting beside Balaram with a glass of water.
“He was fine earlier, but he couldn’t manage the heat in the room. Earlier he used to sleep in the hall with the windows open, so he could manage the heat better,” Padma explained.
Balaram relaxed a little and smiled at his son and daughter-in-law. “Don’t worry, I’m fine. I will sleep on the terrace for a while,” he said and tried to get up.
But Aakash stopped him and insisted that he sleep in the hall instead. He waited until his father fell asleep and then returned to the room.
Meenakshi was sitting on the bed, leaning against the wall.
“I think we should buy an air cooler. This is the third time this week uncle has had breathing trouble because of the heat. He will sleep better if we keep an air cooler in the room or maybe we should buy an AC. We can manage the electricity bill with the money you earn from online tuition.” she said thoughtfully and Aakash nodded in agreement.
“You are too good for this family, Meena. I always thought God had cursed my life but maybe he just shut the world around me so that I would find you. I’m so lucky and I don’t even know if I deserve you. All you do is sacrifice, yet you never expect anything in return.” he said softly and gently pulled her toes playfully.
“Who said I don’t expect anything? I expect a lot. In fact, I’m a very greedy woman. I want you all to myself. Will that be okay?” Meenakshi asked with a small smile.
Aakash pushed her gently onto the bed and kissed her.
“I’m all yours and only yours, Meena,” he murmured and soon they cuddled together and fell asleep.
The next day, Aakash returned early from the office and saw the family having tea and snacks. Meenakshi was in the kitchen cleaning the vessels.
“Meena, get ready quickly. We are going out,” he said.
Meenakshi looked at him in surprise and wiping her hands with her shawl.
“Where are you taking her? And what time will you return? Your father needs to have dinner on time to take his tablets,” Padma said sharply, earning a disapproving glare from her husband.
“We might be late, Maa. Cook something for him or I will order food,” Aakash replied calmly. Without waiting for her response, he walked into the room.
Padma turned to Meenakshi and her expression hardened.
“Yesterday Rajesh and Sharmi went out for a movie and dinner so you planned to go out today, didn’t you? My God, I have never seen a woman as jealous as you,” she said through clenched teeth.
“Aunty, I know you dislike me but you really don’t know me. If I were jealous, I would have first forced him to find a job. But you never ask him to do that. I hope you understand.” Meenakshi said looking at her calmly.
She then noticed her father-in-law smiling at her with quiet approval.
Aakash and Meenakshi left home and he drove straight to a home appliance showroom. Aakash took out his mobile and showed the models he had shortlisted. The executive explained all the pros and cons of the products Aakash had asked about.
After discussing for a while, they finally decided which one to buy. Aakash informed the showroom manager that he would choose the EMI option but Meenakshi quickly stopped him and pulled him aside.
“Aakash, since we got married at the temple, Appa gave me some money. I haven’t used it so far. Let’s use that money instead of going for EMI,” she said and Aakash looked at her in shock.
“No, Meena. Uncle gave that money to you and we shouldn’t use it like this. Don’t worry, I will get a hike in my salary next month and I can still manage everything. If needed, I will skip saving money for Lavanya’s marriage for a few months but I don’t think that will be necessary,” he said.
“Do you feel ashamed to use your wife’s money? Am I not your family?” she asked softly and held his wrist gently.
Aakash cupped her face with his other hand, “You are my only family, Meena. I would never feel ashamed of anything involving you. But I want you to use this money for yourself,” he said, trying to convince her.
“Oh… okay then. I won’t ask you for anything from now on. Whatever I want, I will buy using that money. Let’s go,” Meenakshi said and started walking away.
Aakash stopped near an air cooler and called the manager.
“Please bill both the AC and the air cooler,” he said and Meenakshi looked at him in surprise.
“Why are you choosing an air cooler now?” she asked.
“Because I want to buy that for my wife,” he replied and pinched her cheek lightly.
Meenakshi felt a little upset that he had refused to take money from her. When they reached the billing counter, the salesman asked for the payment. Aakash turned toward his wife.
“My wife will pay for the AC and I will pay for the air cooler,” he said and Meenakshi looked both shocked and happy.
“Why are you smiling at me now? Pay the money so we can go have dinner,” he said teasingly.
He gave his card to pay for the air cooler while Meenakshi used her card to pay for the AC. After giving their address for delivery, they drove to a restaurant.
While they were seated, Meenakshi nudged him with her shoulder. Aakash winked at her playfully, which surprised her even more.
” Excuse me kanakku pulla, enna paarththu kannadichcheengalaa ? Ippolam romba romantic ah irukkenganu thonala ? ” (Excuse me, Mr. Accountant… did you just wink at me? Aren’t you becoming very romantic these days?), she asked, biting her lip to control her smile.
“Not my problem. Looks like my wife has cast a spell on me and turned me into a romantic hero,” he replied, feeding her a bite from his plate.
Meenakshi blushed shyly and noticed people around them glancing in their direction.
