Recap: Vaishu falls ill and Reyansh take care of Ishaan and Ishika.

Reyansh informed the chef to prepare porridge for Vaishu and returned to the room to check on the babies to see if they were awake. He sat on the couch with his elbow propped on his knees and face covered in his palm thinking of his feelings getting stronger with each day. At this moment he realized Vaishu and the babies has become his world and he could tolerate anything but not their pain.
The man who had never let anyone in his personal space other Mithun and didn’t care of taking responsibility for someone was now willing to take huge responsibility of twin babies without anyone’s help. The man who was stubborn on remaining single for the rest of his life has turned his heart into so fragile for someone who is stubborn on not letting anyone in her life.
All his life he cried for the first time when he lost his parents and the second time was when Ishika cried in his arm out of hunger.
Reyansh Mv: I have gone deep into my feelings for Vaishu and my muffins has already made their unshakeable place in my heart and life. There is no way going back or even imagining a life without them.
He moved to the crib and touched Ishika’s cheek and caressed her head slowly.
Reyansh: I will never let you cry once again. It broke my heart to see you cry like this. I may not be your biological father muffin but I will give you the world that no father gives his child. I want you to be my little princess and Ishaan my little prince. I will do anything and everything to keep you all for myself forever.
Mithun who heard everything felt a sudden confusion raising in his thoughts and wanted to clear it immediately so he called Reyansh with him out of the room.
Reyansh: Tell me Mithun, any of them might wake up anytime.
Mithun: Rey, answer me genuinely. Do you really like Vaishu or is it because of the babies ? I mean do you really want Vaishu in your life or you want her just because you wanted the babies to be with you ?
Reyansh: No. I want them altogether because I don’t think I can survive a day without any of them. I hope you got my answers.
Mithun: I got it but Vaishu might have the same doubt in future when you open up about wanting her in your life but then she won’t be convinced with the answer what you gave me now. I hope you too get what I meant so make sure you convey what you feel for her with right words.
Reyansh nodded his head and they returned to the room. After checking on Ishaan and Ishika Reyansh touched Vaishu’s forehead and felt a dip in the temperature.
Reyansh: Should we wake her to give food. Its almost evening and she hadn’t had anything after breakfast.
Mithun: hmm try but why did she fall in fever all of a sudden. I mean she was perfectly when I was gone in the morning.
Reyansh thought for sometime and his eyes went wide and gasped.
Reyansh: Mithun, could someone fall in fever because of strawberry smoothie ?
Mithun: Why do you ask ?
Reyansh: I made her smoothie in the morning. Could it be ?
They heard a groan and saw Vaishu trying to wake up. Reyansh was by her side quickly and helped her to sit leaning on the headboard but Vaishu held her chest and started crying in pain. Reyansh understood the problem and immediately called the maid to nurse her and waited outside the room along with Mithun. After 30 minutes the maid walked out and informed him that she is feeling better. They rushed inside and saw her sitting leaning on the headboard.
Reyansh: How are you feeling now ?
Vaishu: good.. she said I was asleep for a long time. I m sorry..
Vaishu looked for Ishaan and Ishika trying to get down but both Reyansh and Mithun stopped her.
Reyansh: Vaishu, they are fine and we took care of them. I m sorry but doctor said to keep them away until you recover.
Vaishu: But they will be hungry…Its been so many hours.
Reyansh: We fed them formula milk which doctor suggested and they are sleeping and will wake up any time. You should be hungry and I have informed the chef to prepare porridge for you.
Mithun called the maid to get porridge in a bowl and once it was brought Reyansh took in his hand to feed her but Vaishu took in her hands to eat.
Reyansh Mv: Another chance missed. Its ok something better will happen.
Mithun: Vaishu how did you fall in fever all of a sudden ? do you have any allergies to strawberries ?
Vaishu: No, I … I.. I m not to used to cold items and fall ill immediately.
Reyansh: What the fu.. I mean why did you drink the smoothie then ? You should have told me that you are not supposed to take cold drinks.
Vaishu: But it was tempting and I loved it. I always wanted to taste some cold drinks but everyone has denied me so I couldn’t resist when I saw it in the morning.
Reyansh: No more cold drinks to you in your life. Forget to even dream about it. How could you ? I mean why didn’t you think of muffins before you decided to drink it ? Atleast you didn’t think about your health ?
He wanted to scold more but Vaishu pouted and a tear escaped her eye which made him stop and he huffed trying to be calm.
Reyansh: I m sorry and its ok to have a cheat day once in a while. Now finish the porridge and go back to rest.
Vaishu: No, I m fine now and will make dinner for you.
Mithun: Chef has done and you are not fine so have your tablets and go back to sleep.
Vaishu looked the crib with longing eyes and tears rolled her cheeks. Reyansh and Mithun carried Ishaan and Ishika to her and she gently touched their head.
Vaishu: I m sorry Ishu, Ishi.. I gave into my temptation and you had to suffer because of me. I m a bad mother. Forgive me please.
Reyansh: You are the best mother in this world. If someone has to be blamed then it should be me. If only I hadn’t made that smoothie to you.
Vaishu: No no please don’t say that. You didn’t know about my weakness. I m fine now.
Reyansh: Doctor said you will be fine completely atleast by tomorrow so just rest and I will take care of muffins.
Vaishu: But you have been taking care of them for so long already so don’t trouble yourself. I will take someone’s help for the night.
Reyansh: Why will I give my muffins to someone else when I m here to take care of them.
Mithun Mv: Will they realize there is another human in this room along with Ishaan and Ishika.
Mithun cleared his throat and Reyansh glared at him for disturbing the longest conversation he was having with Vaishu for the first time.
Mithun: Rey, come lets go prepare milk. Ishu babies are already awake in the crib.
Reyansh quickly gave the tablets to Vaishu and left the room with Mithun carrying Ishaan and Ishika.
Mithun: You are trained well to change diapers than me so do that and I will prepare the milk.
Reyansh laid Ishaan and Ishika on the mattress in the living and changed their diapers. When Mithun returned with their milk bottles he gently took one by one in his arms and fed them. Babies were wide awake and started playing making sounds and kicking their hands and legs in the air. Reyansh and Mithun showed them different toys and rattles playing with them totally forgetting about the dinner.
Morning Vaishu woke up feeling completely fine and quickly took a bath knowing well Reyansh wouldn’t let anyone touch the babies until they are clean. She came to the living and saw Ishaan and Ishika in a deep sleep cocooned in the arms of Reyansh and Mithun sprawled over the couch. Empty feeding bottles near by the mattress and a trash can near by the couch filled with diapers.
She couldn’t express how grateful she was to god for finally giving a ray of hope in her life through Reyansh, Asha and Mithun. A smile crept her lips looking at Ishaan and Ishika. She wanted to hug her babies but she couldn’t as Reyansh had caged them in his arms. She slowly called Reyansh to wake him and he jerked looking at his muffins but smiled when they were still asleep. He turned back and saw Vaishu fit and fine and smiled at her.
Reyansh: You look fine in the morning.
Vaish: hmmm, did they trouble you a lot at night ? You and Mithun brother look very tired.
Reyansh: They would be anything but trouble to me. Mithun had to attend few calls at night so let him sleep.
Vaishu informed him to refresh to have coffee and left to kitchen. Reyansh refreshed and entered the dining and saw Vaishu entering with two coffees and gave one to him. They sat opposite to each other sipping the coffee.
Reyansh: Vaishu, when was the last time you had something cold to your liking ?
Vaishu: When my parents were alive but they too didn’t let me have any cold drinks or ice cream.
Reyansh: Tell me what is favourite food, color something about you. You know everything about me or atleast something from Ashaa maa so it would be fair if I knew some of your favourites.
Vaishu: I m not a picky eater.
She remembered the time when she was happy to get anything to eat to satisfy her hunger.
Vaishu: When being given food is a big thing we shouldn’t complaint of the choice of food given.
Suddenly she realized what she had blurted out and left to the kitchen mumbling a sorry ignoring Reyansh calling her. Reyansh followed her to the kitchen and saw her pretending to clean the already clean counter.
Reyansh: Vaishu, I know about your past.
Her hands froze and held the cloth in a tight grip biting her lips in nervousness scared of him judging her with the past.
Reyansh: I m sorry but I heard everything you spoke to Asha maa that day. I made her talk to you to know everything. It was wrong of me to do that to invade your privacy but trust me I just wanted to know your past only to make sure there is no threat to you or the babies. Please forgive me and Asha maa is not at fault so don’t be upset with her.
Vaishu: I… I.. If you want me to leave from here then I will do.
Reyansh: Didn’t you hear what I said Vaishu ? I wanted to know your past not to chase you away from here or to judge you. I will never judge you with your past. I only wanted to make sure there won’t be any trouble in your life anymore.
Vaishu did not speak a word and fidgeted with the cloth in her hand. Reyansh took the cloth from hand and throwing it away he held both her hands in his. Her hands were trembling and he held them in a tight grip like assuring her everything is fine. Vaishu raised her head and looked at his eyes which had an unreadable emotion.
Reyansh: Everything is fine Vaishu. You are my friend and friends don’t have secret between them. You can trust me and I will be with you as a constant. How about me make a deal to make you comfortable with me ?
Vaishu: Wh….wha…What ?
Reyansh: hmmm, from today we will have a friend’s coffee date at night after dinner. We will share everything happened during the day.
Vaishu: Why ?
Reyansh: Because, I always wanted someone to listen to what happened in my life during the day. By this date I will share my day with you and you can share yours with me. When I was young my mother used to listen to all my rantings when I return from school. After her I never had someone to listen to me. Mithun used to hang with all the time so he knows everything so I don’t have to talk to him about the same. I won’t force you but if you want this then I will wait in the garden after dinner. Promise, I won’t feel bad if you don’t show up.
