Recap: Priyanka and Sam arrested….

*****************

Vikram held Sana by her shoulders and walked her towards the car. They both sat at the back. Sana leaned on his shoulder, tears still pouring down her face. Vikram gently rubbed her arms, trying to console her, but it was in vain. She continued to cry silently, her heart shattered.

By the time they reached home, her face had turned red and her cheeks were streaked with dried tears. She had fallen asleep out of exhaustion. Not wanting to disturb her, Vikram gently carried her in bridal style into the house.

“Bro, what happened?” Pranitha asked, concerned as soon as she saw them.

Vikram raised his hand, signaling her to stay quiet. He walked into their room and carefully placed Sana on the bed. He pulled the duvet over her and slowly caressed her hair before kissing her forehead.

“Sorry baby… I know you are feeling low and bad… I promise you to protect you at any cost. Just a few more days. I will sort out everything and you will not have any traces of these betrayals. I promise you only love and happiness in our life,” he whispered in his mind, brushing his lips gently on her cheeks before stepping out into the living room.

“Vikram, whatever we saw in the news… is it true?” Amudha asked with concern.

“Hmmm, yes ma…” Vikram sighed. “They both betrayed her. She broke completely. She trusted him a lot, even after that bitch backstabbed her.”

“How come they had a heart to hurt such an innocent soul?” Pranitha asked in disbelief.

“Do you think they possess a heart?” Vikram snapped softly, his anger barely contained.

“You’re right,” Amudha agreed. “Poor Sana… how much she would have endured.”

Just then, Pugazh entered the room.

“Problem is not yet solved,” he announced, tension lacing his voice.

“What?” Pranitha turned to him.

“Hmmm. There is still the mastermind who helped these culprits,” Pugazh revealed.

“Who is that?” she asked, eyes wide.

“We don’t know…” Vikram said, rubbing his temples. “Still trying to find him.”

“He’s playing a smart game,” Pugazh added grimly.

“He cannot be too smart. We will get him soon,” Vikram said with quiet determination.

“First, look after Sana. She’s too weak and broken,” Pugazh advised.

“We shall take care… keep her busy and let’s not leave her alone. Let Sara be with Sana all the time,” Vikram instructed.

“Ok, now get refreshed and stay with Sana. I’ll call you for dinner,” Amudha said, patting his arm.

Vikram went back to the room, freshened up quickly, and sat next to Sana on the bed. Her face was frowning in sleep, her expressions troubled like she was having a bad dream. Gently, he shook her awake.

Sana woke up with a jerk, tears already brimming in her eyes. Vikram immediately pulled her into a hug and rubbed her back.

“Sana… shhhh, nothing sweetheart. I’m here with you… don’t be scared.”

“Vi… vik… Vikram…” she sobbed.

“Shhhh… nothing baby… everything is alright… don’t worry.”

“I’m scared…” her voice cracked as she clung to him.

“Baby, please don’t cry… I’m there with you, don’t be scared of anything…” Vikram cupped her face and kissed her eyes and cheeks.

“Please wifey, I can’t see you cry like this… I’m there to handle everything. You don’t worry for anything.”

“Hmmm… sorry…” she sniffled.

“Don’t be sorry to me… You are my brave girl… You are Vikram’s queen… You need to rule everybody around you. Our princess will grow looking at you. You need to be strong and keep smiling always. She will learn from you. Do you want our princess to be a scaredy-cat?”

“Nooo…” Sana whispered, wiping her tears.

“Good. Now go freshen up… Let’s go down. Sara is searching for you.”

Vikram handed her clothes, and she quietly went to get changed. Later, they both came down for dinner and saw Sara in Pranitha’s arms. The moment Sara saw Sana, her eyes welled with tears and she started to cry, reaching out for her mother.

Sana took her in her arms, kissed her cheeks and whispered, “Sorry baby… did you miss mom?”

“Sana, have your dinner first and then feed Sara. Vikram, keep Sara with you until then,” Amudha instructed.

“No ma, let her be with Sana and I will feed Sana,” Vikram said, sitting beside her.

He lovingly fed her with his hands. Sana felt overwhelmed with emotions and quietly ate. After dinner, she went upstairs to feed Sara. Vikram, Pugazh, Pranitha, and Amudha remained at the dining table, where the maids served them.

“Vikram, eat well. Don’t think a lot. We shall handle everything,” Pugazh said, watching his friend closely.

“Yes bro, relax for a while. If you keep drowning in the same thought, you will miss looking at the important things that are right before you,” Pranitha added.

“Pranitha is right, so relax, Vikram,” Pugazh echoed.

Vikram nodded and went back to his room. He saw Sana feeding Sara and sat beside her, tickling Sara’s little feet.

“Vikky… wait until I feed her and then you can play with her,” Sana smiled faintly.

Once she wiped Sara’s mouth, she handed her over to Vikram to pat her back. He gently placed Sara on the bed and the couple sat together, speaking to her and enjoying her soft babbles. They were delighted to see her trying to crawl, her little movements and coos bringing light into the room. Vikram quickly recorded the moment on his phone.

Suddenly, he noticed Sana had fallen silent. She seemed lost in her thoughts, staring blankly at the bed. When she didn’t respond to his voice, Vikram handed Sara to Amudha and came back into the room.

He hugged Sana from behind, took her hands in his, and kissed her knuckles.

“Sana, what are you thinking?”

“Do I deserve you?” she asked in a trembling voice.

“What? What do you mean? Why do you think so stupid?”

“Yes, I’m so stupid, that’s why I worry if I really deserve you… You may deserve someone intelligent, brave, independent, someone who could assist you in business… and someone beautiful.”

Vikram felt like a dagger had been plunged into his chest. Her words shook him. He was stunned into silence, questions flooding his heart. Was he the reason behind her insecurity? Had he failed to show her how much she meant to him? Was his love not enough?

A tear rolled down his cheek, and he turned his face away to wipe it. Then, with heavy emotion, he cupped her face and looked into her eyes.

“Sana… look at me…” he said softly.

She slowly met his gaze, her eyes shimmering with tears.

“Why do you feel that I don’t deserve you? You know, in all these years of my life, I’ve met many people—and many women who tried to make me fall for them with their disgusting acts. Everyone I’ve met so far… they were dirty in their mind and heart. You’re the only woman I’ve met who is pure—by heart, by mind, and by soul.

You always see the positive in every human, something not even I can do. You treat everyone equally, you trust the ones close to you with all your heart. You don’t have an ounce of jealousy or hatred. Who on earth can be so loving, so trusting, so giving? Only you. Only my Sana.

If trusting and looking only at the positive in people means being innocent, then be proud of your innocence.

If giving love and treating everyone equally is dumb, then raise your collar high—you are dumb in the most beautiful way.

If keeping everyone around you happy is said to be idiotic, then let the world call you an idiot. Because no one has the right to question your character.

No one can even stand next to your character or attitude. You are nothing less than an angel. My angel.”

He paused and held her closer.

“Coming to business… Do you think you are incapable of handling it? Or do you think your husband is incapable of managing business and needs help? I believe in you completely. Even if I don’t exist tomorrow, you will rule our empire. You’re my queen—born to be a queen. A queen doesn’t need help to rule. Likewise, you are capable of everything.”

He pulled her towards the dresser and made her stand in front of the mirror. He stood behind her, their reflections facing them.

“What did you say? I deserve someone beautiful? How could you say that, wifey?”

He gently touched her chin, lifting her gaze to the mirror.

“Look at the woman in the mirror—breathtakingly beautiful, even with tears on her face. You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.

I can live my life just looking into your eyes… such beautiful eyes. They wrap me around them.” His voice lowered into a husky tone.

“Do you know how hard I control myself when you are near me? If you allow me, I’d stay home with you forever, leaving all my business behind.

Do you know how you look when you pout? I wish to bite you every time.

When we are alone, I see the sexiest, hottest girl on my bed… and I want to be wild with you. But I don’t think you could handle my wildest side. That’s why I’ve let you be… for now.

But if you keep talking like this… then I’ll have no other option than tying you to the bed. And don’t complain later if you can’t get up.”

Sana turned around and hugged him tightly, burying her face into his chest. Vikram wrapped his arms around her, holding her with all the love in his heart.
