Chapter 47

Aadhi was settled in the living with her books to catch up with her missed portions. At 6.30 she heard the door bell ring and scrunched her nose in confusion since it was early for Rishi to return from office.

Aadhi: How come he is back so soon ? I m sure the traffic would be peak at this time so how is it possible ?

She placed her book on the couch and quickly rushed to open the door. As soon as she did, Rishi hoisted her with her legs around his waist. He pressed her on the wall beside the door and started kissing her. They parted from the kiss and he pressed their forehead together and both had their eyes closed trying to catch up with their breathe.

On feeling their breathe turn even they opened their eyes and Rishi pecked her forehead before he carried her to the couch.

Aadhi: How did you arrive so early ? I haven’t even started with dinner yet.

Rishi: Traffic would be at its peak after 6.30 so I started exactly at 6 from office and drove at the maximum speed possible.

Aadhi: You are unbelievable Rishu.

Rishi: That I am love. Now ..now, I love the way you surprised me Aadhu. You look hot in my shirt and I would love to be welcomed the same way everyday. Hot kiss from my hot wife.

He winked at her and Aadhi smacked him with her book from the couch. Rishi chuckled and rushed to get change. Whe he entered the kitchen Aadhi had already stared preparing dinner. He helped her as they talked about their day. Just like he promised he helped her with studies after they had their dinner.

They walked in the terrace for a while hand in hand before returning to their room. Aadhi was about to lay on the bed but Rishi beckoned her to the couch and opened his laptop to show something to her. Aadhi sat next to him curious to see what he had for her.

Rishi opened a building plan which Aadhi couldn’t understand so he opened the 3D view of a beautiful home. Aadhi froze on seeing the name ” Aashu’s Abode ” on the compund wall of the home.

She looked at him and saw him smiling at her already.

Rishu: A simple home for us just like you wanted, the one you made with sand at Goa.

Aadhi: You remember ?

Rishi wiped her tears and turned her face to look at the animation of the home he planned just like she wanted.

Rishi: Now, I want you to confirm this plan or we can do any changes if required. This weekend we shall visit the plot were we shall start the construction immediately. Not only the home, we shall have a beautiful little garden, a pool in the backyard and a gym too. I made this plan in such a way that we shall construct more rooms to enlarge our home when our family grows.

Aadhi watched the rooms, kitchen and the hall of the home. The backyard had a gym room, pool and a litle garden in the frontyard. As the video ended she hugged him with a forced that made Rishi stumble.

Aadhi: I love you Rishu, I love you so much. How long will you keeping surprising me like this ?

Rishi: As long as possible Aadhu.

Aadhi: Don’t you think we should meet your parents ? They would be upset that we aren’t keeping them updated on anything happening in our life.

Rishi: I will meet them next week end and I will reveal the plan of constructing our own home.

Aadhi: What about me ? Don’t you want me to join me with you to visit them ?

Rishi: Nope, not until I feel that you would be respected. I won’t let you be at a place where you are not respected so don’t worry about them, I will take care.

With a smile he closed the laptop and they retired to the bed to sleep.

Two days later Aadhi and Malini were in the canteen having lunch when Yuvraj sat opposite to them with a smile. Both the girls greeted him with a gentle smile and proceeded with lunch.

Yuvraj: Aadhira, I hope you received the circular about the culturals. Have you registered your name in any of the events ? You too Malini, have you registered your name ?

Aadhi / Malini: nope not yet.

Yuvraj: Please do it. I will be in the auditorium to register the names, please do participate in the culturals. Life gives one chance to enjoy the life at college and all these events will give you an opportunity to create a lot memories to cherish in future so please don’t miss it.

Malini: Actually we are crazy dancers but don’t expect us to win in the competition and if that is ok we are ready.

Aadhi glared at Malini but she ignored it and continued her conversation with Yuvraj.

Yuvraj: I like the spirit Malini. Participation matters and win or lose you will have some memories. So I will see you both in the auditorium after the class hours.

He bid bye to them and left from there. Aadhi immediately pinched Malini’s arms and glared at her.

Aadhi: Why did you do this ?

Malini: Come on don’t be a boring sport. Trust me, your crusy baby will be over the moon to know that you will be dancing in the culturals. I bet that he will be seated in the first row to watch you dance so lets rock the stage in the culturals.

Aadhi: Did you ever think that we might have to stay back after college hours for practice ?

Malini: So, your Rishu would return home only after 6.30 and I m sure we wouldn’t be staying such long hours for practice so why worry ? Or how about we seek special permission to practice at home ?

Aadhi: I don’t know, lets see. Let me inform Rishu that I will be late today else he will be worried.

 Aadhi picked her mobile moved away dailing Rishi’s number which he answered immediately.

Rishi: Yes love, I have been waiting for your call. Did you have your lunch ?

Aadhi hummed and explained him about the culturals and about Malini forcing her to participate in the dance competition.

Rishi: Wow thats amazing idea, thank Malini on my behalf and please let me know the dates so that I will inform Sudhir to clear off any schedules on that day.

Aadhi: You are unbelievable Rishu. Fine I will let you know and I will be late today since we have to register our names and about the practice we shall discuss at home.

Rishi: Alright love, take care. I love you.

Aadhi: Love you too Rishu..

Aadhi cut the call and Malini bumped on her shoulder to tease her. Aadhi dragged her to their classroom. After the colleg hours Aadhi and Malini arrived at the auditorium and saw students waiting in a long queue to register their names.

Yuvraj smiled at them when it was their turn to register their names.

Yuvraj: Wow, I m so happy that you both made the decision, I thought you both backed off.

Malini: Senior, you should have made some special arrangement for us to register our names quickly rather than standing in such a long queue. Since you never made one you shouldn’t blame us or thought that we backed off.

Yuvraj: I m so sorry madam, may be next time I will use my power to make special arrangements to you both.

Yuvraj received their registration forms and read Aadhira’s name which she had written as Aadhira Rishikesh. He smiled at her and informed them that they would discuss more in detail the next day.

Malini dragged Aadhi to a bakery to relax for a while and have snacks since they had to stand for more than an hour to register their name.

Aadhi: Malini, by any chance are you trying to hold me back until Rishu would return home and feel disappointed on not seeing me ?

Malini: Why would he feel disappointed on not seeing you ? You did inform him about the culturals so he would understand or is there something else I m missing ?

Aadhi Mv: Yeah my Rishu would be returning home expecting me to receive him with a kiss.

Malini noticed Aadhi trying to hold back her smile and placed the cup of coffee on the table turning her attention completely to Aadhi.

Malini: You kow how painful it is to be unmarried and have a married friend at the same time. God, let me get married before I get a niece or nephew.

Aadhi held Malini’s hand and dragged her out of the cafe and they got in the car to return home. Aadhi arrived home and entered her room directly to get changed but she heard the door bell ring.

Aadhi: Who could be here at this time ? Sure Rishu wouldn’t here.

She rushed to the door and opened it only to be shocked on seeing Grandpa, Vani and Raghavan at the doorstep.

Aadhi: Hello uncle, aunty, hello grandpa, please welcome.

She moved aside and let them enter inside. She fidgeted with her fingers feeling curious and scared about their sudden visit. She let them be seated and entered the kitchen to prepare coffee for them. She poured the milk in the vessel and held the counter top for support to relax. Few minutes later she served them coffee and got seated opposite to them.

Grandpa: How are you Aadhu and how about your studies ?

Aadhi: Good grandpa, thank you.

Raghavan: We are here to talk about you both and Manjari too. I heard she had joined her friend’s office to work so we thought it would be good if she works under Rishi. Also we thought it would be good if you both come live with us.

Vani: You both got married after living apart for six months. Now we don’t want any misunderstanding between you both so its better we stay as a family.

Aadhi was shocked on hearing their words and didn’t know what to say so she just bobed her head.

Aadhi: I will call Rishu…I . I will inform Rishi that you are here to meet us.

Raghavan: No, let him come on his own, we don’t mind waiting. I see he must be returning in a while.

Aadhi bobed her head and decided to cook dinner for everyone. She excused from them and entered the kitchen to start the work immediately. Vani entered the kitchen and helped her in the cooking.

Vani: How is your life Aadhi ? Are you happy now ?

Aadhi: Yeah, ofcourse we are happy aunty so life is cool.

Vani: Did you try to talk to Manjari ? Rishi’s father is not ready to forgive her so I couldn’t talk to her. She did a mistake and that doesn’t mean we should disown her.

Aadhi: I will talk to her aunty but she must be doing fine. My brother doesn’t hold grudges or hates some one for too long and he loves Manjari so he will stand for her and take care of her.

Vani: If only she had given birth to the baby then everyone would have cherished her and the baby. Actually I wanted to talk to you about the baby too. I spoke to Rishi couple of times but he wouldn’t listen to my words. I know you are young and you have a dream to achieve but as a mother I m worried for my son. He is already 30 and I don’t think it would be fair to let him wait for another couple of years to have a child of his own. You can still achieve your dream having a baby Aadhi. We would support you for sure. Just think over my words.

Aadhi bobed her head and continued with the cooking. Once she was done she placed the casseroles on the table and joined grandpa, Raghavan and Vani in the living. Just then when Raghavan was about to say something the door bell started ringing and Aadhi prayed Rishi to have some patience and look at the guest before he goes feral on her.

She turned back and saw everyone’s gaze fixed on the door. She sighed and slowly opened the door. Rishi smiled at her and Aadhi opened her mouth to alert him but he was too impatient and started kissing her immediately.
