Chapter 58

Chaitra woke up in the morning and smiled on seeing the gifts her parents gave her at midnight after a little celebration. She opened her wardrobe and pulled out a box and settled on the bed. With a smile she opened it and picked a photo and smiled on seeing the person in it.

Chaitra: Its been 6 years Vimal, 6 long years that I realized my love for you but you were a forbidden fruit since you were best friend’s brother. I couldn’t open my heart to anyone, even my best friends. I wasn’t bold enough to confess my love to you and when I was ready to do, you were already in love with that witch. Even if you weren’t mine, I would have been happy if you had found someone who loved you truly. It hurts to see that you are suffering in your marriage and it broke me when I got to witness everything with own eyes. I suggested you to divorce her not because I will hold a chance but I don’t want you to suffer anymore. Live your life Vimal.

She placed his photo back in the box and picked a piece of chocolate wrapper and looked at the handkey, shirt, perfume bottle.

Chaitra: It wasn’t my intention but my hands moved on its own and stole these things from your room. What is with you guys always considering your sister’s friends as sister ? Only if you had noticed that I never called you brother while Malu always called you bro. Why should I blame you when I was a scaredy cat and failed to confess my love ? Today is my birthday but I m so unlucky that I will never receive a wish from you.

Chaitra placed the box in her cupboard and got ready in the outfit her mother gifted her. She arrived in the hall and engulfed her parents in a hug.

They heard the door bell ring and Chaitra moved to check. She opened the door and saw a man standing holding a huge flower bouquet in his hand. He delivered the flowers to her and Chaitra saw a card in it. She was about to squeal on reading Vimal’s name in it but stopped since her parents were watching her. She informed her parents that it was from her friends and excused to place the flowers in her room and immediately twirled around holding the flowers to her chest and kissing them.

Chaitra: Oh my god, oh my god, finally after such a long wait he wished me. Thank you god .. thank you so much.

She picked the card and hugged to her chest and placed it safe in her box before placing the flowers in a vase.

Vimal was on his way to office when he received a call from Chaitra and he answered it immediately.

Vimal: Wish you a very happy birthday Chaitra. May all your dreams and wishes come true.

Chaitra Mv: I had one wish but  I never got that so now atleast I want you to be happy.

Chaitra: Thank you so much, I called you to thank for the flowers, they are so beautiful and I love them.

Vimal: Good, you liked them. I know you have plans with Aadhi and Malu so have a wonderful day.

Chaitra thanked him and cut the call feeling so happy. She heard her mother call that Adhi and Malini had arrived to pick up her so she rushed out and the girls joined in a group hug. Aadhi and Malini gave their gifts to Chaitra before they got in the car to enjoy their day.

They arrived at the mall as usual and started the day with shopping. Aadhi chose a shirt for Rishi and watched Chaitra and Malini choose outfits for them. Later they entered a theatre to watch movie. Aadhi was seated in the corner seat and she smiled with a blush reminiscing the day she watched movie with Rishi and the way he was teasing her.

By the time the movie was over they were starving and had late lunch together. They decided to return home and since Aadhi would be bored at home being all alone she decided to visit Rishi’s office and surprise him as it was her long term wish.

She bought special cookies and cake for him and informed the driver to drive her to Rishi’s office.

Rishi was in an important meeting with his department heads in the conference room and the meeting was going on and on for more than 2 hours. Sudhir was in his cubicle since Rishi had assigned him to work on an important report. He heard the sound of heels and was shocked to see Manjari. She was about to enter Rishi’s room but Sudhir stopped her immediately.

Sudhir: Madam, Rishi sir is in a meeting in the conference room.

Manjari huffed and looked at the time from her wrist watch and decided to wait for a while to meet him.

Manjari Mv: I need a job and since this is family business why should I look for a job outside ? I will talk to him and be a part of the business. Why didn’t I think about this idea before ignoring him yesterday ? I will convince him and I need a job before anyone find out that I was fired 2 months back.

She got settled on the couch in the lounge and started scrolling through her mobile and stalking Harish from his social media accounts. 30 minutes later she moved to use the washroom and at the same time the door of the elevator opened and Aadhi stepped out of it. On seeing her Sudhir immediately rose to his feet and greeted her with a warm smile.

Sudhir: Aadhira, how are you ? What a surprise that you are here at office ? Sir is in a meeting but I will let him know that you are here.

Aadhi: I will wait for him Sudhir so don’t bother to disturb him. He is back in office after 10 days and sure his schedule must be loaded.

Aadhi passed a box of chocolate to him which he received happily. Aadhi saw the employees from the floor watching her. Everyone knew her identity since Rishi had her photo in all his social media accounts. Sudhir didn’t pay heed to her words and rushed to the conference room to let Rishi know about Aadhi’s arrival.

Rishi who was in a meeting was super shocked and surprised on hearing Aadhi’s arrival. He immediately walked and saw her admiring the interiors of his office.

Rishi: Aadhu…

Aadhi looked at him with a smile and immediately Rishi hugged her and gave gentle kiss on her temple. Adhi felt shy that everyone was watching them.

Aadhi: Rishu, people are looking at us

On hearing her speak in husky voice Rishi chuckled and kissed her forehead before he pulled her to his room.

Rishi: so what if they saw us ? You are my wife, my love and I got all rights to love you. You surprised me really and I love you baby. Did you miss me already ?

Aadhi: Shut up Rishu. Malini and Chaitra decided to return home and I thought of giving you a surprise visit since I will be alone at home doing nothinng. I bought cookies and cake for you but I want you to go back and get done with the meeting first. I can wait in your room until you get done with meetings or I shall return home and watch a series.. you know..

Rishi: Why do you want to  watch some series when you have me to teach you everything and I will make sure you reward me with more scratches on my back my dear wild cat.

Aadhi: Stop teasing me, I m not a wild cat. I just love my husband and I m so innocent.

Rishi: Ofcourse you are so innocent so why not show your innocence in our office too ? I will have some memories to boost my energy to work more efficiently.

Aadhi: No way Rishu, go back to your meeting now.

Rishi hauled her effortlesly and made her sit over his table. Aadhi opened the box and fed him a piece of cake.

Manjari who had watched Rishi and Aadhi hug and enter his room gave a deadly glare Sudhir.

Manjari: Why didn’t you inform my brother that I was here to meet him but you couldn’t wait to inform about Aadhi’s arrival ?

Sudhir: Madam, it was sir’s strict order to not disturb him unless it was his wife. He would have fired me if I made Aadhira wait to meet him. I will let him know now, please hold on.

But Manjari ignored him and barged into Rishi’s room but quickly turned away on seeing Rishi and Aadhi kissing each other.

Rishi who heard the door open screamed a fuck while Aadhi jumped off the table and hid behind Rishi feeling embarrased. On seeing Manjari, Rishi was shocked and pulled Aadhi before him.

Rishi: Manjari ? What are you doing here ?

Manjari slowly turned to them and  cleared her throat but Rishi was pissed that she lacked manners and interuppted his moment with his wife.

Rishi: You should have knocked before you enter someone’s room Manjari.

Manjari: I thought you are my brother and not someone so I entered assuming of having some space in your life and office.

Rishi: You are my sister and yes you do hold place in both my life and office but there is something called privacy. Let it be, why didn’t you call me or message that you will be here ?

Manjari: I wanted to discuss something important do I decided to show up without notice but if you insist I will make sure to contact your PA to book an appointment.

Aadhi: Manjari, he didn’t mean that. you definitely don’t need an appointment to meet your brother.

Aadhi passed a smile at her and looked at Rishi who was holding her hand but she knew he was grappling with his own emotions still she decided to give the siblings the space to talk.

Aadhi: Rishu, I will leave now and we shall meet at home.

Though Rishi wanted Aadhi stay back he knew he had to confront Manjari and also to discuss whatever she had to discuss with him so he bobed his head and gestured Manjari to be seated and holding Aadhi’s hand he walked her out to see her off.

Aadhi bad bye to Sudhir and Rishi pulled her into a hug and kissed her forehead before le let her step into the elevator.

Rishi: Baby, message me once you reach home. I will see you soon.

Aadhi bobed her ehad and Rishi returned to his room not before informing Sudhir to wind up the meeting and postpone it to the next day. Every one who had never seen Rishi smile were shocked to see him being so lovey dovey with Aadhi.

Manjari was looking around the office room that looked so classic with a spectacular view through the glass walls. She looked at the photo frame of Rishi and Aadhi which was on the table. Thye were hugging and smiling at each other, they looked so much in love and she was about to touch it when the door opened and Rishi entered loosening his tie. He settled on the couch and pat the sapce for Manjari.

Manjari: Bro, I m sorry if I upset you.

Rishi: No issues now tell me what is that you want to discuss with me.

Manjari: Bro, I was thinking of quitting my job and join our business. I have some ideas and experience so I think I m ready to join business. I don’t mind any position though I hold rights in the business equal as you.

Rishi: Good to hear Manju and sure we shall speak of that but I have something else to be discuss with you. What is happening between you and Vimal ?

Manjari: Nothing brother, we are fine and its just usual fights between husband and wife but we are doing good.

Rishi: They way you acted around Vimal, Aadhi and even me was completely different. I don’t think its some usual fight between husband and wife. I m not the right person to advice on relationships because I have myself messed up a lot in my life but I cannot say the same to a person like Vimal. He is a man I have admired since the day I met him. He has been the perfect son to his parents, a perfect brother to Aadhira and to you… he has been the best and perfect husband. I swear no man would tolerate certain things that you did to him and his family yet that man had backed you and accepted you with all your flaws.

Majari: Bro, I swear nothing is serious like you exaggerate. We are good except that he is not happy with me working in a different office so I thought I will join our business and the problem would be solved.

Rishi: You could have come to me and I would have spoken to him because he is not a man who will suspect his wife just because she works in a different office under someone or he might must be really concerened about your safety that he would have expressed his thoughts.

Manjari: This is the problem, everyone of you don’t miss a chance to impose that I m the only one who is not perfect. You are my brother but you are so sure that Vimal would never be wrong and you have made up your mind that I m the one who could be wrong. Now I don’t think you will be ready to let me work in our office or should I say your office…so I will take my leave.
