If the earth could open up, Chandrasekar might have gladly buried himself six feet under. The past few days had been nothing short of torment. All the love he had for his daughter, all the blind trust and affection he poured into her happiness, it had cost him, both in business and personal life. And now, the news of her pregnancy had completely shattered him.
“Maya, what are you saying? When did you meet Aryan?” Chandrasekar’s voice was firm, disbelief lacing every word. “As far as I know, he never even spoke to you. How did you meet him then?”
“Believe me, Dad,” Maya pleaded, her eyes desperate. “I went to Ooty with my friends and met him there. He promised to accept me in his life soon.”
“Are you sure, Maya? If that’s true, why didn’t you tell me all these days?”
“Sir, sorry to interrupt,” Rajesh interjected. “The day Maya madam was in Ooty, Aryan sir was in Chennai at his home. I checked personally and even informed madam.”
“No, Dad!” Maya snapped, glaring at Rajesh. “There must be some misunderstanding. Aryan was in Ooty that day. Believe me.”
“Sir,” Rajesh continued firmly, “Aryan sir was in hospital that day. You already have the information I gave you.”
“You mean…” Chandrasekar trailed off, turning to his assistant for confirmation.
“Yes, sir,” nodded Rajesh.
Chandrasekar turned back to his daughter, trying to contain the anger rising in him. “Maya, listen to me. Aryan would never do something like this. I’ve known him for years. He’s very sentimental. He won’t betray anyone like this. Calm down and tell me clearly—how did you meet Aryan in Ooty?”
Maya hesitated. “We went to a pub… my friends and I. I met him there. We talked… he stayed with me. He said he’d take me in his life soon.”
“Did your friends see him, Maya?”
“No, Dad. They didn’t.”
Chandrasekar lost his temper. “Are you stupid or have you completely lost your mind and conscience? What the hell, Maya? How come only you saw him there?”
“Believe me or not, he came to meet me there,” Maya insisted. “I’ll speak to him. If he knows I’m pregnant, he’ll marry me.”
“No, Maya. You’re not going anywhere. Stay home.”
“Enough, Dad!” she screamed. “I need to tell him that I’m pregnant. How can I not?”
Before he could stop her, Maya stormed out of the house and drove straight to ARC Towers to meet Aryan.
Chandrasekar looked at Rajesh, his heart pounding. “Rajesh, what’s happening?”
“Sir,” Rajesh explained calmly, “the day Maya madam was in Ooty, Aryan sir was with Sanjana at the hospital. All his friends were there too. That was the day the chief doctor took Sanjana to the beach house and confirmed her pregnancy. Aryan sir couldn’t have been in Ooty. Something is fishy.”
Chandrasekar’s phone buzzed, it was Maya’s phone ringing… right there, on the table.
“We need to stop her,” Chandrasekar barked. “Come, let’s go.”
They quickly tracked the GPS in her car and followed her. Meanwhile, Maya reached ARC Towers and demanded to meet Aryan. But the receptionist informed her that Aryan wasn’t there. Frustrated, Maya got back into her car and drove to Aryan Mansion.
Inside the mansion, Pradeep, Keerthy, and Pavithra were spending some cheerful moments before taking their leave. Aryan and Sanju had just returned to their room upstairs.
“Aryan,” Sanju smiled, admiring her hands, “these bangles are so beautiful, right?”
“They’re pretty,” Aryan said, pulling her close. “But my glowing wifey is even more beautiful. I can’t stop admiring you.”
They cuddled on the bed as Aryan kissed her forehead and pecked her lips.
“I just can’t wait to carry our baby in my arms,” he whispered, moving down and kissing her baby bump gently.
Sanju sighed. “It feels so different, Aryan.”
“What is it, baby?” he asked, holding her tight. “Just relax, I’m here. Why are you worried?”
She leaned into his chest. “I don’t know… I feel like… we’re drifting apart.”
“Are you crazy, Sanju? You know how much I love you. How can I live without you? Don’t think like that.”
“If something happens, then…”
Before she could finish, Aryan crushed his lips onto hers in a hungry kiss that only broke when she struggled to breathe.
“Sanju and Aryan are inseparable,” he said fiercely. “I will protect you and our baby. If someone tries to take you away from me, I swear, I won’t stop until I find you. And if I fail… then I’m probably dead. But not before ensuring you’re safe. Your hormones are messing with your head, baby. Don’t overthink.”
“I’m sorry… I love you,” she whispered.
“I love you too,” Aryan replied, caressing her hair and kissing her temple.
Downstairs, chaos erupted.
Maya barged into Aryan’s home, screaming his name. Ranjith and Bala tried to stop her, but she pushed past them.
“Ranjith,” she shouted, “call Aryan now! He will meet me!”
“Please, madam,” Ranjith pleaded, “maintain your decorum. You can’t just walk in and demand to meet him. If you want to talk, take an appointment and meet him at his office.”
“Shut up! Call him now!” Maya screamed.
Ranjith sighed and walked up to Aryan’s room. Maya’s eyes caught the living room, beautifully decorated with flowers. She paused, confused by the festive setup.
Upstairs, Ranjith knocked on the door. Aryan opened it.
“What happened, Ranjith?”
“Sir, Maya is here. She’s creating a scene downstairs.”
Aryan frowned. “Why is she here? I thought everything was settled. Wasn’t she supposed to leave the country?”
“Yes, sir. But she’s refusing to say anything.”
Sanju heard it too. “What problem is she going to create now?”
“I’ll go,” Aryan said. “You stay here.”
“No, I’m coming,” Sanju insisted. “I don’t trust her. Let’s go together.”
“Fine. But don’t take anything she says seriously, okay?”
Sanju nodded. Aryan kissed her forehead and they held hands as they stepped into the lift.
When they reached the living room, they saw Maya. She turned—and her expression twisted in shock seeing Sanju’s baby bump.
“Aryan… she’s pregnant?” Maya gasped.
“None of your business,” Aryan snapped. “Why are you here?”
“How could she bear your child?” she shrieked.
“Maya, stay in your limits. She’s my wife. Who else would bear my child if not her? Just tell me why you’re here.”
“I’m pregnant, Aryan!”
Aryan and Sanju exchanged a glance, faces unreadable.
“Your personal life doesn’t concern us,” Aryan replied coldly. “Still, congrats.”
“What do you mean, ‘my personal life’?” Maya yelled. “You’re the father of the child!”
Aryan’s temper exploded. He kicked the side table, startling everyone.
“What the hell is this new drama? Just get out, Ms. Maya, before I lose my patience!”
“You promised to marry me!” she screamed. “And to chase this bitch from your life. Did you forget?”
“Shut up, Maya!” Sanju stepped forward. “Mind your tongue! How dare you come into my home and claim Aryan’s child with someone else’s seed? Get out now!”
“We met in Ooty!” Maya shouted. “He promised me! We were together! You’re the one who needs to leave!”
“Ranjith,” Aryan ordered, “call her father. Tell him to take his daughter away before I do something I’ll regret.”
Sanju’s voice was calm but fierce. “Since the doctor confirmed my pregnancy, Aryan hasn’t even gone to his office. He’s been with me all the time. How could you possibly meet him in Ooty? Go find your real child’s father and get married at least now.”
Fed up, Aryan and Sanju turned and walked away.
Behind them, Maya screamed, “Aryan! You can’t cheat me! Accept this is your child! Or I’ll make your life hell! You can’t abandon me and our child!”
“Shut up and get lost!” Aryan yelled without turning back.
“I’ll make you come to me, Aryan! You will marry me! It will be Aryan and Maya! If I have to kill Sanjana for that, then I will! I will give everything for our child—including you!”
Aryan and Sanju went upstairs, slamming the door behind them. Maya, consumed by rage, stormed out of the mansion and drove recklessly into the night.
Just then, Ranjith called Chandrasekar.
“Sir, your daughter has just left after creating a huge drama. Aryan sir wants you to control her and stop her cheap acts.”
“Convey my wishes to Aryan… for his second child,” Chandrasekar replied grimly. “I’ll do my part now. Just wait for my show.”
Before Ranjith could respond, the line went dead. Chandrasekar tracked Maya’s location and rushed out.
Maya, blinded by her fury, drove at a dangerous speed, unaware of the road’s sharp crossover. From the right, a massive truck emerged.
With a thunderous crash, it collided with her car.
The vehicle rolled over twice before landing upside down, lifeless and mangled—just like the lies she had spun.
