Recap: Vikram got a report from Raksaht and was devastated on reading it.

***********************

Vikram’s blood boiled as he read the report. His hands clenched the pages, his vision blurring with rage. The hospital records confirmed that Priyanka had undergone six abortions in the last two years, and any further termination would result in the removal of her uterus.

Seething, Vikram stormed out, gripping the steering wheel so tightly that his knuckles turned white. He sped through the streets recklessly, his mind spiraling with betrayal and fury. Upon reaching the mansion, he marched straight to the guest room, only to find it empty. Frustration clawed at him, and he ran his hands through his hair, sinking onto the living room couch. His thoughts raced, flashing through every moment of deception, every lie he had believed. Eventually, exhaustion took over, and he drifted into an uneasy sleep.

The next morning, Sahana was jolted awake by the ringing of her phone. Her hands trembled as she answered the call, Rakshat’s voice filling her ears with shocking revelations. Each word struck her like a blow, and her heart ached for Vikram, he must have been shattered by the truth.

Without a second thought, she got out of bed and went in search of him. As she stepped into the living room, she found him asleep on the couch, his face still etched with pain even in slumber. A deep sigh escaped her lips. Gently, she picked up a blanket and draped it over him, her fingers lingering for a moment as she fought back tears.

He needed time to process, to grieve, to make sense of it all. Knowing that, she left quietly, setting out to meet Rakshat.

Vikram woke up with a splitting headache, a dull throbbing echoing through his skull. As he sat up, his fingers brushed against a blanket draped over him. His gaze lingered on it for a moment before realization struck, it had to be Sahana. Despite everything he had put her through, she still cared for him. Why? After all the torment, the cruelty, the indifference, why was she still looking after him?

He clenched his jaw. He needed answers. But first, there was unfinished business.

His phone buzzed, breaking his thoughts. “PA Calling.” He picked up instantly.

“Yes, tell me. Did you find out the details? Go ahead.”

“Sir, she is Madam’s best friend from school.”

Vikram shot up from his seat. “What?!”

“Yes, sir. They were very close. She even lived in Sana Mansion since her college days after losing her parents in an accident. However, she left about six months before your marriage. Since then, she has had no contact with Madam.”

His grip tightened around the phone. “She knows Sahana?”

“Yes, sir. She has visited ABC Hospital multiple times for six abortions in the last two years. She frequently checks into XYZ Hotel, VIP Suite 555. There is no record of the owner.”

Vikram exhaled sharply, his mind racing. “Find out who is behind her.”

As the call ended, he sat back, his thoughts spiraling. If Priyanka and Sahana had once been best friends, then Priyanka must have known about Sahana’s love for him. What had happened between them? Why had they cut ties? And why was Priyanka still circling around his life like a vulture?

His life had become a tangled mess of deceit and unanswered questions. But not for long.

Vikram rose to his feet, his resolve hardening. He searched for Sahana, but she was nowhere in their room. He let out a sharp breath, his patience thinning. Without a second thought, he called the maids and dismissed them from the mansion.

No distractions. No interruptions.

Today, Priyanka would answer everything. A while later, Priyanka arrived, draped in an expensive silk saree, jasmine flowers adorning her hair, a smile plastered on her face. She was confident, deluded enough to think she had won. Little did she know she had just walked into the lion’s den.

Vikram sat back, his face void of emotion as he watched Priyanka approach, her saree draped perfectly, jasmine flowers woven into her hair, and a smile that dripped with pretense.

“Hi, Vikram baby! When did you come home last night?” she chirped, her voice sickeningly sweet.

He didn’t return the pleasantries. His gaze was cold, unwavering. “Where were you last night?”

Her smile faltered for just a second before she quickly masked it. “I waited for you, but I got scared of staying alone with Sahana. You know how she is… she could do anything. So, I left for home. This morning, I even went to the temple and prayed for our happiness.”

Vikram’s voice turned sharper. “Where were you last night?”

She hesitated, her fingers twitching slightly before she forced a laugh. “I was at home, baby. Why are you asking “

The crack of his palm against her cheek echoed through the room. Priyanka stumbled, her body hitting the floor with a dull thud, eyes wide with shock.

“You filthy cheat,” Vikram spat, standing over her. “Did you really think you could deceive me forever?”

Tears pooled in her eyes as she clutched her stinging cheek. “Vikram, why are you acting like this? I love you! Please don’t be harsh on me, I can’t bear it.”

A bitter laugh escaped his lips. “Love me? My foot. I have never seen a woman as disgusting as you. Did you really think I wouldn’t find out the truth?”

She shook her head frantically. “I don’t understand what’s happening. Did Sahana manipulate you against me? Please don’t believe her! She’s capable of anything “

“Enough!” Vikram thundered, hurling a stack of hospital reports at her feet. “Look at these, you shameless whore. Six abortions? Over the last two years? You’re nothing but a filthy woman.”

Priyanka gasped, her face draining of all color. “No, Vikram! This is fake! Someone is trying to separate us. You have to believe me!”

Vikram glared at her, his disgust growing by the second. “I don’t care for your lies anymore. You have two minutes, decide whether you want to live or die.”

He pulled out his gun and aimed it directly at her. The barrel gleamed under the dim light.

Priyanka’s body shook violently as she scrambled backward. She had played many games, but she had never expected it to end like this.

“Don’t kill me, Vikram!” she sobbed. “I want to live!”

Vikram cocked the gun. “Don’t move. Now, answer my questions.”

Her voice wavered. “W-what do you want to know?”

“Tell me what happened between you and Sahana in the past. How is Rakshat connected to her? How did Sahana come to know me? Why aren’t you and Sahana on speaking terms anymore?”

He leaned in closer, his voice a deadly whisper. “And listen to me carefully. If you try to manipulate me or lie again, I swear I’ll make your death slow and agonizing. I have my own ways of extracting the truth. Now, speak.”

Priyanka gulped, her hands trembling as she realized there was no way out.

“Fine,” she whispered, her eyes flickering with something darker, resentment. “I’ll tell you everything.”

Then, she lifted her head, venom dripping from her words. “It was all because of that bitch, Sahana.”

Vikram didn’t hesitate. His foot connected with her stomach, sending her sprawling onto the marble floor, gasping for breath.

“You dare speak ill of Sahana again, and I will make you regret it,” he snarled. “Speak only what I asked.”

Tears streamed down Priyanka’s face as she clutched her stomach, pain radiating through her body. “I’ll tell you everything,” she whimpered. “Just please don’t kill me.”

Vikram’s jaw clenched. “Start talking. Now.”
