Chandrasekar sat alone in the private room of the hospital, cigarette smoke curling in the air around him. His mind replayed the joyful memories he once shared with Maya. Her laughter, her innocence, her dreams, all now reduced to silence. The weight of reality pressed on him like a boulder.

Rajesh entered the room and paused, noticing the smoke in the air.

“What happened? Did you get her?” Chandrasekar asked coldly, his voice edged with impatience.

“Sir, I have sent men. We will get information soon,” Rajesh replied.

“Do it fast. Call Maya’s friends. I want to meet them. Collect the details of the pub where Maya went in Ooty.”

“I will do, sir,” Rajesh assured, quickly leaving the room.

Meanwhile, Aryan, now fully composed, stepped out of the mansion with Ranjith. The streets were calm, but danger lurked in shadows unknown to them. As soon as they left, a group of armed men barged into the Aryan Mansion. Kowsalya and the maids screamed in fear as the intruders stormed every corner, overturning furniture and searching with ruthless urgency.

When they found nothing, they called Rajesh.

“Sir, they’re not here. Aryan and Sanjana are missing,” one of the men reported.

Rajesh hung up and returned to his temporary room in the hospital. He immediately called in his tech and security team, ordering them to trace every device linked to Aryan, Sanjana, and anyone associated with the mansion. Through his men, he had microphones planted in key areas of the house.

Soon, his inbox buzzed with incoming tracking data. Rajesh scanned the report and headed straight to Chandrasekar’s room.

“Is the work over?” Chandrasekar asked without looking at him.

“No, sir,” Rajesh admitted. “Aryan, Sanjana, and Ranjith are not in the mansion. According to tracking, they left late last night. Their last halt was at Trichy. Aryan and Ranjith alone have returned home. Sanju’s mobile has been switched off since then. It’s possible Aryan got wind of our plan.”

“What the fuck?” Chandrasekar exploded, slamming his hand on the table. “I don’t want lame excuses. Send as many men as you want, but the end result—I want her at my place. I want to show Aryan what hell looks like.”

Moments later, as he stepped out of his room, his eyes landed on Aryan and Ranjith standing in the lobby near Maya’s ward. A volcano of rage erupted within him, and he charged toward them. Ranjith immediately stepped in front of Aryan, blocking his path.

“Why did you come here? To plead for your life?” Chandrasekar barked. “You made my life hell, Aryan. Get ready to witness the same. I won’t spare even a single moment of happiness for you.”

“I’m sorry, and I genuinely feel bad, Mr. Chandrasekar, that your daughter is in this state,” Aryan replied calmly, his tone firm. “But remember, all this happened only because of you and your blind love for her. That same love encouraged her to do all kinds of shit. I’m not here to plead for my life but to give you some facts to think about.”

He took a step forward.

“Stop messing around me or my wife. Instead, find out who the father of the child she lost is. If you need medical support from any part of the country, I’ll arrange it. The least I can offer is a piece of advice, stay away from my life.”

“That’s not going to happen,” Chandrasekar spat. “You will have to pay for my daughter’s life.”

“No way am I responsible for her, nor is my wife,” Aryan said sharply. “Take a fresh breath and think straight at least once.”

“Put your shit advice in your pockets,” Chandrasekar growled. “Try your best to save your wife from me.”

Aryan stepped even closer, locking eyes with him. His voice dropped, quiet but cutting.

“I don’t care about anything or anyone, and I will dare to do anything for my wife. Best wishes for your daughter to get well soon.”

Without waiting for a reply, Aryan turned and walked away with Ranjith.

They reached home and were greeted by the chaos left behind by Chandrasekar’s men. Aryan looked around at the destruction, overturned furniture, broken vases, scattered belongings.

“Ranjith, collect the evidence completely and record everything,” Aryan instructed. “Retrieve the CCTV footage too. Send a copy of everything to Rajesh.”

“Okay, sir. Shall I tell Kowsalya to get food for you?”

“No, I’m not hungry. I’ll have something later.”

“Sir,” Ranjith said gently, “we need to be strong and healthy, both physically and mentally. You need to take care of yourself for Sanju’s sake. I cannot answer her when she is back.”

“I will… after some time,” Aryan muttered.

He walked slowly to his room. The silence there was heavier than the chaos outside. On the nightstand, their photo frame stood, the glass slightly dusty, but the smile in it still shining.

Aryan sat on the edge of the bed, eyes locked on the picture, a storm of guilt, love, and determination swirling inside him.

Somewhere in a remote village, Sanju slowly opened her eyes, rubbing the sleep away. Her gaze darted around the unfamiliar room, and confusion clouded her face. This wasn’t her home… nor a place she recognized. Her mind flashed back to the night before Ranjith entering their room, the news about Maya’s accident and miscarriage. But everything after that was a blank.

Panic rose within her as she realized Aryan wasn’t beside her.

“Aryan?” she called out, her voice quivering.

Moments later, a woman in a white coat hurried into the room.

“Who are you? Where is Aryan? Which place is this?” Sanju asked, her voice trembling.

“Hello Sanju,” the woman said gently. “My name is Dr. Banu, and I’m a doctor. Aryan sir has arranged for me to take care of you.”

“Where is Aryan?” Sanju demanded again.

“Sir is not here. It’s only you and me, with two more people to assist us.”

“Which place is this?”

“We are far away from Chennai. He has sent you here for your safety.”

Sanju’s eyes searched for her belongings. “Where is my phone? I need to talk to him.”

“I’m sorry, Sanju. We cannot talk to him. It’ll only be one-way communication. Aryan sir will call when it’s safe. You’ll have to wait. But he’s given me a letter for you.”

Dr. Banu handed her a folded envelope with care.

“After you read the letter, please get fresh and come out to have food. You haven’t eaten in a long time. Your dresses are already arranged in the wardrobe. Relax, you’ll be safe with me here.”

She turned at the door, pausing for a moment.

“You can believe me. Call me if you want anything.”

With that, she gently closed the door behind her.

Sanju’s hands trembled as she opened the envelope. Her heart clenched as she unfolded the letter written in Aryan’s familiar handwriting.

Sanju my love,

I love you. I’m sorry to send you away without even taking your consent, but you would have definitely not accepted to go if you were conscious. I had no other way than sending you while you were asleep.

You’ve suffered a lot because of me. Please forgive me, and I promise to clear all the mess around us once and for all. We will be back together soon. Please don’t be mad at me. I know you’ll miss me a lot and I will miss you too. I’m nothing when you’re not around me, but this will be short-lived, and everything will be fine soon.

I don’t want to risk your life and our baby’s life now, so please stay at that place for the time being. There are many tracking us, so we cannot connect through any gadgets. I know my sweetheart is so strong and will take care of herself and our baby for my sake. Better days are coming, wifey… wait for them.

Dr. Banu is my trustworthy person and she’ll take care of your health.

I love you, Sanju sweetheart. Now get fresh and open the wardrobe. I’ve given all comfy clothes that you’ll love. Wear my purple hoodie and there you’ll feel my love. Take care.

Love you,

Your love,
Aryan

Tears streamed down Sanju’s cheeks as she gently caressed her bump, sobbing softly. Her stomach growled reminding her that she had to stay strong for the little life growing inside her.

Wiping her tears, she got up and walked to the wardrobe. Her heart melted seeing her favorite gowns, soft cotton kurtis, and plenty of Aryan’s shirts and tees the ones she loved wearing the most. She chose a soft track pant and slipped into the purple hoodie Aryan had mentioned.

She tied her hair into a bun and stood in front of the mirror, running her fingers over the hoodie, taking in its scent.

“I love you, Aryan. I miss you,” she whispered, voice breaking. “Please come back… and take me with you. Please.”

Her eyes fell on a photo frame placed on the nearby table. She picked it up it was one of their favorite pictures. She kissed Aryan’s image softly.

As she slid her hands into the hoodie’s pocket, her fingers brushed against something. She pulled it out and found another letter, folded neatly.

Love you, wifey,

I know my wifey will miss me, so here’s a little surprise for my love.

The place you are now is our home. Go look around and you’ll see and feel my presence everywhere. I may not be present physically, but my soul is with you. And there is a special person to take care of you.

Don’t cry after seeing the entire place.

Love you, Sanju baby.
Take care.

Sanju held the letter to her chest and kissed it, placing it gently back in her hoodie pocket. She wiped her tears and stepped out to explore the place Aryan had chosen for her.

As she walked around the house, her eyes welled up all over again. Every corner, every little detail whispered of Aryan’s presence. The scent of him lingered in the air, the warmth of his love soaked into the walls. She was dumbstruck by the care and thought he’d poured into this home for her.

Tears rolled down her cheeks endlessly as her heart ached with longing.

“I miss you, Aryan,” she whispered. “I wish you were here… I would’ve hugged you so tight and kissed you breathless… and just cuddled with you forever.”
