Chapter 75

Everyone in the room gasped and stood shocked on hearing everything about Manjari. Aadhi looked at Vimal who stood calm and composed.

Harish: Yes, I made it very clear that I treated her like how I cared for my sister but she was not ready to listen. She even met my fiance and finally my sister gave a clear warning to stay away from me and our family. Seems like she planned all of us as target for revenge.

Rishi: You fired her in two months because she forced you ?

Vimal: She was so dependant on him that she was moaning his name while being in bed with me. All the nights she stayed in the guest room she used to moan his name because she was so dependant on him.

Everyone shut their eyes in disgust and Hari, Kavitha, Aadhi and Rishi looked at Vimal who was glaring at Manjari. They felt too bad that Vimal had endured so much. Rishi kicked the stool that was on his way and caught Manjari’s throat gritting his teeth.

Rishi: Aren’t you ashamed to do such thing ? Didn’t we speak to you, tried to put sense in your skull about what you were doing then why did you hurt that man ? Tell me why did you kidnap my Aadhu ?

Rishi once again slapped her and Manjari laughed at him and others like a maniac wiping the blood from the corner of her lips.

Manjari: Why did I kidnap her ? Seriously you wanted to know because I hate her.. I hate you all. Every one of you failed to see what I was yearning for. My great parents were so strict that they wouldn’t take me out for park, movies or vacation, my brother was so lost in his world that he forgot that he had a sister and then I found Vimal, he was from a similar family but he was exact opposite of what I was and what you were. He gave me everything I wanted but there was a problem, Aadhi.. Aadhi.. Aadhi.. he was always boasting about his sister so I hated her and I wanted to remove her from his life so when your marriage was proposed I made sure you marry her. After all no woman in sane mind will live with a sadist like you.

Manjari felt a sharp slap and saw Aadhi glaring at her.

Aadhi: Mind your words, you are speaking about my husband and he is nothing like that.

Manjari: This is why I was behind you. You changed him in a way that I never dreamt of. He became a love sick puppy whereas Vimal kept me caged at home and my great in laws .. sorry.. .ex inlaws were so strict.

Kavitha: Have some shame woman, Vimal never let us interfere in your matters. He always protected you and gave you everything.

Manjari: One mistake..I did one mistake and everyone disowned me, my ex husband, this fucker avoided me for months and refused to touch me. He didn’t want to have a baby with me.

Hari: Good, he made a right decision.

Manjari: He didn’t want to have a baby with me but now he is behind that bitch Chaitra. They meet at restaurant, have lunch together.

Manjari opened the gallery in her mobile and showed the photo of Vimal and Chaitra.

Manjari: Harish, this idiot gave me everything and snatched it at the same speed he gave me. I begged him, I agreed to divorce, I was ready to do anything but he didn’t budge rather he fired me and banned me from entering his office. He found this Rithvika and now he is all lovey dovey with her. You are all fuckers.. I hate you.. I lost everything.. but she got everything and she is pregnant too. You thought you hid the news from everyone but I knew it. I couldn’t see her enjoying everything while I was deprived of everything in my life so I planned to ruin you all. I was following you all and made the rights moves and used the customer to distract my brotherrrrrrrr to keep him away. I knew Yuvraj found about me and I knew sure he would call my sister in law so it wasn’t a task when people were ready to work. All I had to do was throw some money.

Vani slapped Manjari and slumped on the floor crying. Raghavan and Rishi help her and they saw Manjari with disgust.

Raghavan: We were strict with you but that doesn’t mean we never loved or cared for you. Parks, movies and vacations, do you have any other complaints other than these ? We weren’t expressive but we gave you everything, we got you married to man you fell in love. Rishi gave you everything you asked for. He arranged for Resilience building program only for you. He made sure that you are taken care. You could have listened to us and agreed to visit a psycologist then all these would have not happened.

Manjari: Oh yeah dad.. you are right. Is that all ?

Inspector: I have recorded all ther confessions and now I will arrest her but after we produce her at the court she might be sent to an asylum for treatment if found to be really suffering with any disorder. A government doctor will recommended to examine her and all this will happen if you file a legal complaint against her.

Harish: I don’t know about her family but its definitely not safe for my family if she is out so I will file complaint against her. Yuvraj will testify everything.

Rishi: I have already filed a complaint about my wife missing and that should be enough to proceed further considering that she kidnapped my wife.

Inspector: Lady constables are waiting outside so I will take her with me.

Manjari: No.. no ..no ..no…. Bro, don’t do this. I m your sister and I did all these because I felt alone. Now that I m aware of the disorder I will agree to any treatment but please don’t get arrested. Please save me one last time, I swear to listen to all your words.

Rishi: You passed that stage and don’t call me brother, you lost the right when you kidnapped my wife despite knowing she is pregnant, you starved her and I found her in an unconscious state.

Inspector called the lady constables and they dragged Manjari with them. Raghavan and Vani broke down completely on seeing everything and cursed themselves for being the root cause of all the problems happening in their children’s life.

Rishi handovered both the guns to the inspector and everyone was stunned to see that.

Rishi: Both of my guns are licensed and I had to shoot those men for self defence. I will inform my PA to send the copy of the license and I will co operate for the enquiry.

Aadhi felt scared that Inspector might take Rishi with him for shooting those men so she immediately rushed to his side and stood before hugging him. Rishi smiled and pat her head gently before he shook hands with Inspector who took his leave.

Rishi: Aadhu, I m not going anywhere leaving you, relax baby..

Aadhi looked at him and he wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes. Rishi looked at his parents and grandpa who were devastated. Raghavan folded his hands towards Vimal and Harish but Vimal quickly stopped him and engulfed him a hug.

Vimal: Don’t be sorry for something that wasn’t in your control.

Grandpa: Its all my mistake, I should have noticed all these things. My wife had similar behaviour and I believe that is the reason she wanted to keep everyone under her control so Manjari would have inherited the disorder from her grandmother.

Harish: I think, its time for us to leave… Aadhi take care and Vimal, I m so sorry.

Vimal: Don’t be please, I m over everything and nothing affects me now.

Yuvraj: Aadhi, crushy baby, I m sorry. I hope we are still friends.

Rishi hugged him and Aadhi showed her fist and Yuvraj bumped his fist with a smile. Yuvraj, Harish and Rithvika walked out of the room and Rishi let Aadhi lay on the bed and hugged his parents to comfort them.

Rishi: I know you are devastated, at the same time I m not sure if you are upset over my decision but I think too much endurance is foolishness. I m sorry.

Rishi called the doctor to check Aadhi and he did as said and informed Rishi that Aadhi could be taken home. Rishi carried Aadhi to his car and the families followed him. They arrived at Rishi’s home and Rishi carried Aadhi to their bedroom to let her rest.

Aadhi: Rishu, I will be outside with you all, I m doing good now.

Rishi cuddled her and buried his face in the crook of his neck. Aadhi felt his tears and stroke his back mumbling I love you. Rishi stayed in her embrace for a while and later he pulled back from the hug removing her top he kissed her abdomen.

Rishi: Thank you being strong baby, daddy loves a lot. You are stronger than daddy and mommy. I love you.

Aadhi: Rishu, I want to bath, I m stinking…

Rishi chuckled and carried her to the washroom. He removed her clothes and bathed like a delicate doll.

Aadhi: Rishu, can I ask you something ?

Rishi hummed and Aadhi hugged him rocking their body under the shower.

Aadhi: Manjari, she shouldn’t have done all these things but we know that she has some disorder and she has to be treated so if uncle and aunt wants to help her please don’t stop them. They feel guilty that they are the reason behind her disorder and she is their daughter. We can’t expect them to let go of her just like that. Think of grandpa, he did so many things to fix his family but today he feels guilty that he failed notice that grandma herself was suffering with such disorder. Please don’t let them live in guilt for the rest of the lives. If supporting her in the treatment would help them feel good then please don’t stop them.

Rishi: Aadhu, I don’t want to risk our lives anymore.

Aadhi: I will not force or request you to accept her because the damage she caused in our life and my brother’s life are too much but we can’t say the same to uncle, aunt and grandpa. Let them decide, Rishu.

Rishi: Let the case proceed and we shall discuss this later. Now you need to rest so stop worrying about others and think about us and our baby.

Rishi dried her body and made her wear his shirt before he carried her to the bed. He laid next to  her and waited until she asleep before he reached the living. He saw Vimal in the kitchen cooking and both their parents and grandpa lost in thoughts. He entered the kitchen and helped Vimal in the cooking. Later they served to their parents and when they denied to have anything Rishi forced them to eat. Later they all left leaving Rishi and Aadhi alone.

The next day, Rishi with his family and Vimal arrived at the court and they greeted Yuvraj and Harish who were already waiting with their lawyer. A few minutes later they saw a police jeep stopping and Inspector got down followed by lady constables and Manjari. She glared at them and followed the Inspector to the court room. Vani and Raghavan sobbed when Yuvraj’s lawyer produced the evidence against Manjari, Harish had given the CCTV footages from him office room and Yuvraj called the doctor who suspected Manjari to be suffering from DPD disorder.

The judge read out that Manjari should be sent to a government asylum for examination. Everyone walked out of the courtroom and Rishi stopped his family.

Rishi: I will wait in the car, if you wanted to meet her.

Vani thanked him and rushed to meet Manjari but she ignored her mother got in the jeep along with the lady constables. Rishi hugged his mother and guided her to his car.

Rishi: I will request the Inspector to let you know about the details of the asylum she will be sent.

He dropped them home and drove back to his home. Aadhi was in the kitchen preparing lunch and Rishi hugged her from behind.

Rishi: She will be sent to an asylum for examination. Based on the doctor’s report judgement will be given. I did as you said and mom tried to speak to her but she ignored mom.

Aadhi: Its ok, atleast uncle and aunt will not feel that you aren’t stopping them so relax. They will get her somehow.

One month later:

The doctor who examined Manjari confirmed that she was suffering from DPD disorder. Based on all the evidence and medical reports, the judge ruled that she should be admitted to an asylum until certified fit for release by a doctor. Upon her recovery, she would face two years of imprisonment or could be considered for release if the case was withdrawn. Following the court’s orders, Manjari was taken to an asylum in South India.

Vani, Raghavan and Prithiviraj watched her leave without sparing a glance at them. They had tried a couple of times to visit her at the asylum but she refused to meet anyone. On seeing the police jeep leave Rishi drove his parents back to their home.

He reached home and saw Aadhi sleeping. He discarded his shirt and got in bed with her. Feeling him next to her Aadhi snuggled into him and kissed his chest. Rishi chuckled and kissed the crown of her head.

Aadhi: What happened ?

Rishi explained everything and caressed her back gently.

Rishi: Court has did what we intended to do so there is nothing for us to worry Aadhu. Its been more than a month now Aadhu, its like you have locked yourself at home. Lets go out for dinner today and may be a short vacation.

Aadhi: Dinner is ok but vacation will be too much, I don’t want to scratch the wounds of uncle and aunt.

Rishi: Will you please forget about her and think about us or do you have plans on locking yourself at home until she will be released ? Aadhu, we are having our baby, you need to distract your mind and be happy. Didn’t the doctor say that your mood and emotions will affect our baby directly ? You lost weight baby, I can’t see you suffer like this.

Aadhi: I m sorry Rishu..

Rishi: Don’t be sorry, because I m gonna punish you baby…

Aadhi: How would you punish me ?

Rishi: I will make sure you scream for mercy, will that be ok love ?

Aadhi smiled and Rishi hovered balancing on his elbows and started kissing her.
