Chapter 8

Rishi choked on seeing Aadhi dressed in a shorts and a T shirt. He immediately turned around and shut his eyes trying to remove the sight from his mind.

Rishi: What the fuck are you wearing ?

Aadhi walked to his front and snapped her finger. Rishi opened his eyes and averted his gaze not looking at her.

Aadhi: Rishu, we are in Goa and are you planning to shut yourself in the room all the while we would stay here ? I m not wearing a swimsuit, Rishu. My shorts reaches my knees and I don’t think this would be awkward. Rishu, don’t tell me, you never wear shorts ?

Rishi: What I wear is my choice so shut up.

Rishi turned to leave but Aadhi stopped moving to his front once again.

Aadhi: Rishu, if you really feel awkward I will change. I don’t want you to be upset, please Rishu.

Rishi: Yes, it feels awkward.

Aadhi walked back to the room and got changed into her regular pjs and stood with a smile leaning on the wall beside the door. When Rishi was about to enter the room she stretched out her arm.

Aadhi: Rishu, I got changed because you felt awkward so we will not leave the cottage or visit any place until our stay here. Goa has a lot more than my knee length shorts and T shirt with sleeves.

She retracted her hand and walked to the living while Rishi stood spell bound on hearing her words. He shook his head and entered the room to refresh. Ten minutes later he returned dressed in his Track pant and T shirt, with his laptop he moved towards the pool and started working sitting on the sunlounger.

Aadhi followed him and sat on the other sunlounger beside him and started playing games on her mobile.

Aadhi: Rishu, which game do you like playing ?

Aadhi: Rishu, which is your favourite movie ?

Aadhi: Rishu, Who is your favourite actor and actress ?

Aadhi: Rishu, which is your favourite destination spot ?

Aadhi: Rishu, tell me some of your wishes from your bucket list.

On hearing no response she turned around and saw airpods plugged in his ear which wasn’t present when she decided to give him company. She sat watching him and fell asleep. After a long time Rishi turned to his side and saw her sleeping. He watched her for sometime before he shook his head to get rid of his thoughts.

At Vimal’s home he was in his room with Manjari and they were watching a movie cuddling on the bed.

Vimal: I hope your brother is taking care of Aadhi, she will become so excited on going out. She will love to eat different foods.

Manjari moved away from him and switched of the TV. Vimal sat leaning on the head board watching her actions.

Vimal: What happened Manju ? Why did you turn off the TV ?

Manjari: I think we should go to Goa and check on your sister. Vimal this is the fifth time and for god’s sake she is not a baby. My brother is with her and he is not a demon.

Vimal: What is wrong if I m worried for my sister, Manju ? Didn’t you want us to get married and leave that home because you hated that place ? Now I have sent my sister there to live with your brother and she sacrificed her life for us. Weren’t you the one who portrayed your brother as a demon and why are surprised when I worry for Aadhi ?

Manjari: Vimal, why did you let her marry him then ? You should have stopped their wedding proposal and you too should have married someone of your father’s choice.

Manjari started crying and Vimal pulled her to sit on his lap and wiped her tears.

Vimal: I didn’t mean to hurt you by speaking ill of your brother. I m just worried for Aadhi. Ok now stop crying and lets continue the movie.

Manjari hugged him with a smile and they continued the movie.

Back at Goa, Aadhi woke up feeling chillness and saw it was dark around. She returned to the living and saw some casseroles on the teapoy. She entered the bed room and saw Rishi asleep on the bed. Returning to the living she opened the lids of the casseroles and saw it was half eaten.

Aadhi: Too bad Rishu, you had dinner without me.

She skipped dinner and slept on the couch in the bedroom. Morning Rishi woke up and saw Aadhi sleeping in a sitting position hugging a note to her chest and a pen had fallen on the floor. He got ready and moved out of the bed room before she would would wake up. He opened the casseroles and saw it was untouched the way he had left.

Aadhi woke up hearing the continous ringing of her mobile. She saw it was from her brother and answered it immediately.

Vimal: Adhi, are you still sleeping ? Adhi its 9 a.m

Adhi woke up startled and looked around for Rishi but he was nowhere to be seen.

Aadhi: Bro, we went out for sight seeing and returned lated to our cottage so probable Rishu let me sleep. Any way good morning bro, thank you for waking me up.

Vimal: Good morning Aadhi, get ready and go have breakfast. Control your excitement when you go out duckling. Did you take the money I gave you ?

Aadhi: Yes bro

Vimal got the answer he wanted and stayed mum for few seconds.

Vimal Mv: If he had been good to you then sure you would have not taken the money with you kiddo. Your answer gave the information I needed.

Vimal: Ok Aadhi, buy whatever you want and I will transfer more money to your account.

Aadhi: No bro, Rishu is taking care of everything so I don’t need any money. I will call you back later.

She cut the call and quickly got ready in a jean and shirt. She entered the living and saw Rishi in a meeting with someone. She was about to sit when the door bell rang. She opened it saw the room service at the door step with a food trolley. She thanked him and pulled the trolley inside the room.

She placed plates for them and waited for Rishi to finish his call. 15 minutes later he finished the call and moved to the dining and served the breakfast himself.

Aadhi: Good morning Rishu, I m angry with you. How could you leave me and have dinner all alone ? I woke up and looked for you but you were sleeping.

Rishi ignored her words and had his breakfast looking at his mobile.

Aadhi: Rishu, shall we watch a movie after breakfast. Its boring and we agreed to stay in the cottage for the 3 days so we shall keep company and also lets get to know each other.

Rishi stopped looking at his mobile and even pushed the plate a little. He proped his elbow on the table and looked at her with a smirk.

Rishi: You are a double faced annoying brat who doesn’t know to respect the personal space of others. I have never seen someone as clumsy and annoying as you. You never would have learnt the words silent, calm, patience, being polite, truthful, etc etc etc.. I don’t think there something else left to know about you, so excuse me.

He pushed back the chair and returned to continue his work. Aadhi played with the fork pondering over his words. She quickly finished her breakfast and called the room service to deliver some popcorn and coke. She waited for the delivery and on receiving it she rushed to the couch and sat on the other end with her legs folded and the popcorn bowl on her lap. Rishi watched her perplexed and Aadhira picked up the remote and turned on a movie. She increased the volume and started watching it.

Rishi clenched his fist to the high volume and Aadhi whistled to the romance scenes.

Rishi: Shameless

Aadhi: Rishu, don’t tell me you don’t watch movies especially the romance ones. How could you call me shameless for watching a romance movie ? God, you are lucky to have a romantic wife.

She winked at him and Rishi walked out with his laptop while Aadhi continued watching the movie. Rishi couldn’t tolerate the noise and gave up on his patience. He returned to the living and saw Aadhi dancing to the song and imitating the steps and swaying her hip. He simply picked the remote and switched off the TV.

Aadhi: Too bad Rishu, why did you switched it off ?

Rishi: We are going out. I can’t be locked in here with you. I wanted to be sane at the end of 3 days.

Aadhi: But you are uncomfortable in watching women dressed in short dresses Rishu so its better we stay in.

Rishi: You have 5 minutes, get dressed in whatever you want.

Aadhi wore her sneakers and picked her handbag all ready to leave.

Aadhi: I m ready Rishu, lets go. May be tomorrow I will choose something different. Today I m lazy to get changed.

Rishi: I won’t be your baby sitter so the least you could do is stick around.

Aadhi: Rishu, I will be very good so don’t worry now lets go.

She squealed and they walked out locking the door behind. The driver opened the door for them and Rishi informed him to drive them to Fort Aguada.

Aadhi: Rishu, seriously you wanted us to visit the fort ? This is the first place we will be visiting so please choose some better destination.

He plugged in the aripods and Aadhi took the cue that she had to shut her mouth. On reaching the spot she got down and walked around the fort. Rishi sat on a parapet and looked at the sea. Aadhi walked around for a while, watched the sea and started taking his pics. Rishi saw her running here and there clicking photos and shook his head.

Rishi Mv: Sure she is crazy. God, how long will she click her photos ?

He ignored her and continued watching the sea. Aadhi got bored and returned to the car. An hour later Rishi looked for Aadhi and cursed her for going out of his sight. He returned to where their car was parked and saw Aadhi playing games in her mobile. Without a word he got in the car and Rishi informed the driver to take them back to hotel.

Aadhi: Rishu, aren’t we going to somewhere else ? It would be boring. How about we have lunch in a restaurant ?

Hearing nothing from him she leaned on the window watched the road and the people who were smiling and enjoying their life.

Aadhi Mv: One day me and Rishu will be like you all, happy and walking holding hands just like most of you do here.

They returned to the hotel and ordered lunch in their room. They served themselves and Aadhi was looking at Rishi without eating her food. Rishi dropped the spoon and looked at her with annoyance.

Rishi: Stop staring at me girl. Don’t you know it irritates to watch someone like a creep ?

Aadhi: Rishu, you are not someone. You might not consider me as your wife but you are my husband Rishu and I was looking at you for a reason. Tell me, do you ever smile Rishu ? I never saw you smile for even once. Please smile once Rishu.

Rishi: I think humans need some reason or some incident to smile at.

Aadhi: Rishu, humans need reason to cry but why a reason to smile. A smile will increase your life span. Don’t you want to live many years with me ? We are newly married.

Rishi: I m worried about the next 2 days and here you are talking about the rest of the life ?

Aadhi: What are you plans about our life Rishu ? I have read some books, the idiot, stupid male lead will plan on divorcing his wife after 6 months. Do you have any such idea Rishu ?

Rishi: No.

He wiped his hands made his way to the room to look after his business. Aadhi felt happy on hearing his instant answer that he had no idea on divorcing her.

Aadhi Mv: Sure you will fall in love with me very soon Rishu. Love you.
