Chapter 87

Vimal shot open his eyes on hearing Chaitra hiss in pain and gulped on seeing their position. He instantly moved away and sat on the edge of the bed holding his hand in his hands.

Vimal: Fuck… what have I done ?

Realisation sunk in him that he was living the dream in real and he had no idea if he forced himself. Chaitra blinked in confusion on seeing him react such way.

Chaitra Mv: What happened to him ? He did initiated everything and why is he reacting as if he did a blunder ? Is he regretting ?

Chaitra covered her with the duvet and switched on the night lamp to look for her camisole. She found it on the bed beside her and quickly wore it still not understanding what was happening with him. She looked at the time and saw it was 2 am and sat with her legs down and her back facing him who was looking the other side. She waited for him to speak on what happened all of a sudden but on hearing nothing she sighed and sauntered to his side and stood with her hands folded.

Chaitra: Could you please explain what just happened ?

Hearing the strict tone in her voice Vimal gulped and shut his eyes feeling ashamed that he forced himself on her. Quickly he knelt before her and shed tears.

Vimal: I m sorry, I didn’t meant to force myself on you.. I thought.. I thought it was dream and I didn’t know I was reacting to it in real.

Chaitra: You didn’t force on me and it happened with my consent so relax and get back to sit on the bed because I need answers for my other questions.

Vimal sighed in relief that he didn’t force her yet he felt ashamed that he did things out of his mind.

Chaitra: Were you doing things in real thinking all those to be your dream ?

Vimal: I m sorry, I… I didn’t know I was reacting in real.

Chaitra: SHUT UP, now tell me whom did you see in your dream and with whom were you doing all those things ?

Vimal was scared for a while and his chest started heaving in anxiety. Chaitra saw him sweating and poured a glass of water for him. Vimal gulped the water and looked at her with tears in his eyes.

Chaitra: I need answer and no way I m leaving until you answer my question so just blurt it out. Who was in your dream with you ?

Vimal: You…

Chaitra shut her eyes for a fleeting moment feeling relief wash over which Vimal didn’t fail to notice but that didn’t last long and instantly she opened her eyes and all Vimal was fear in her eyes which never wanted to see in his life.

Chaitra: I didn’t want things to happen without us being conscious still it happened still I don’t regret it but I want to know if you regret everything ? Vimal, do you regret ?

Vimal: Its not regret but I did feel the same that anything that happens between us should happen with complete consent and consciousness but I did.. all these.. I m sorry Chaitra.. there is a lot you need to know.

Chaitra: Let me know then, nothing will change between us if you don’t open up to me about what is happening with you and what you feel. Did you feel uncomfortable all these days when I hugged you and kissed you ? Do you feel that I m forcing you in this relationship ? just tell me please.

Vimal saw her on her knees and tears rolling down her cheeks. He raised his hand to wipe her tears but Chaitra swat his hand and glared at him.

Chaitra: You haven’t answered my question and if you are not ready to give me answers then get out and never come before me until you are ready to answer me.

Vimal entered the closet and Chaitra felt the air knocked out of her lungs. She thought he left to pack his things to leave the room but Vimal returned with a file and a box which he placed it before her.

Vimal: Answers to your questions are in this file. I have been visiting a psycologist for treatment. Before the divorce I met him to get over the loss of my baby and the trauma because of which I was not able to give a chance to her. Later things started, we were fine and then I met him again after I decided to divorce her. I was hurt deeply and couldn’t get over the fact that she was moaning a man’s name who wasn’t me.

Chaitra was shocked on hearing his words and more tears rolled down her cheeks on seeing the man who was broken beyond repair.

Vimal: I was able to get over the depression and all the mental stress though the hurt existed until a dream started haunting me. Few weeks after the divorce I had a dream, I was having sex with a girl and that was … that was too intense. When I woke up I couldn’t recollect her face but strangely I was able to recollect all other things including her body features. That dream didn’t stop with that day and continued most of the days. She invaded my mind totally and I couldn’t focus on anything. I had to take cold showers by the sexual frustration so I once again met the psycologist.

By now Chaitra was shocked and scared. She felt a fear engulfing her heart knowing that he was seeing a woman in his dream.

Vimal saw her face and revealed everything the psycologist told him.

Vimal: I didn’t know whom my mind was hallucinating and to get away from the dreams I started taking sleeping pills.

Vimal opened the box and dumped them all on the floor before Chaitra.

Vimal: These are all the things that I have seen in my dream associating her. I didn’t know what was happening. I visited a jewelry store to buy a gift for you and even bought a ring for you.

Vimal opened the small box and revealed the ring to her.

Vimal: I instantly like it and chose this for you but I also saw the toe rings which I saw in my dreams. The woman was wearing it and I didn’t know what came over me or I thought I would buy the ring and whoever woman was in my dream will never get that but the gift got exchanged and you got the toe rings.

Chaitra: You imagined me to be the woman from your dream ?

Vimal: You are the woman from my dream.

Chaitra was shocked and now she poured a glass of water and gulped it before she tied her hair in a bun and looked at Vimal to continue.

Vimal: I recognized your toes on the day we got married and I was so shocked. Later I saw the mole on your collarbone, the one I saw in my dreams. I was going mad of everything happening with me. I met the psycologist once again and confessed that you are the woman from my dream and he said that there some things that my mind has taken a liking over years but I really pay attention to it. He said with time I will realize it. That happened the same day when I bought flowers for you. I never talked to you about your likings but I realized that I have noticed your likings to yellow roses. Not only that I realized that I chose this home which was one of your wishes too. Too many things happened and it made me realize that I did notice you but I really didn’t heed much to it. May it was because you are my sister’s friend.

Chaitra: You saw my mole ? I may not be the only woman with a mole on the collar bone.

Vimal: I saw you in my dreams, I mean your face. You started haunting my dreams more often. I stayed awake late night to avoid the dreams because I was scared between the dream and reality. I was scared that I could mess up in real considering it to be a dream and that exactly happened today. I m happy with the way we were progressing and all the attention from you. I was waiting for the right time to reveal you about my dreams but I swear, I didn’t expect this to happen.

Chaitra: I repeat my question Vimal, do you regret ?

Vimal: No, not a bit if you assure that I didn’t made you uncomfortable. I swear not to regret if you let me do those things with all your heart and definitely I will not regret if you were fine with what happened even when I m not in love… yet Chaitra. I like you and my walls that I successfully built around my heart are crumbling little by little. You are succeeding in making me fall for you. I like you more.. a little less to accept it as love but I m not far to that.

Chaitra: Did you feel like you were forcing yourself on me in the dream ?

Vimal: No, you let me do it just like always you did in my dream.

Chaitra: I don’t regret hubby dear.

Hearing her call him hubby dear felt like relief washing over and his shoulders slumped finally relaxing. He duck his head and looked at the floor.

Vimal: Do you feel I m disgusting to have such dreams with you ? But it was not my intention and happened on it own.

Chaitra: Don’t call it disgusting becasue I m happy that I did have a place in your heart even before we got married and I m so happy on knowing that you did notice certain things about me. I love you Vimal, nothing about you will be disgusting to me. You have a golden heart and you are my man.

Vimal looked at her and tears of joy brimmed in his eyes.

Vimal: Why didn’t you confess your love the sooner ? Why did you let someone break me to the extent I m suffering so much today ? Why did you take such a long time to come into life ?

Chaitra: I was always there Vimal, its just that you didn’t listen to your mind and heart. I m now here, we are together and I will not let anyone walk over us just like that. I will cherish you hubby dear.

Chaitra moved close to him and cupping his cheeks she pressed her lips on his forehead. Vimal instantly hugged her and buried his face on her stomach feeling solace in her embrace. Chaitra raked her fingers through his hair and pat his back to calm him down.

Chaitra: Ok, now that we are clear of everything lets get back to sleep.

Vimal pulled back from the hug and they laid on either side looking at each other. Vimal scooted a little towards her and stretched out his arm. Chaitra moved close to him and laid her head over his arm and they cuddled feeling their heart and mind at peace.

Chaitra: Hubby dear, I m your wife and I love you so much. You don’t have to just dream anymore when I m in real next to you. You could show me what happened in your dreams. Its too bad that I don’t get to know what happened between us and only you enjoy those moments.

Vimal: Chaitra ….

Chaitra: I m serious hubby dear, start living in real and your dreams will stop haunting you. I m yours Vimal, don’t stop yourself back.

Vimal looked into her eyes and then at her lips.Chaitra closed her eyes and leaned closer ready to give her whole heart and soul to him. Vimal slowly touched her cheek and the next moment he pressed his lips on to her soft ones. For a while they didn’t move and let their mind and heart savour the moment of their lips meeting for the first time. Later they moved in sync as if they were meant for each other and knew the symphony of kissing.

Vimal interlaced their fingers and held them on either side, he hovered her continuing the kiss and their bodies were glued to each other. After it felt like an eternity he saw her falling short of breathe and broke the kiss. He pressed their forehead and slowly started peppering kisses over her face and moved to earlobe. His lips trailed down to her neck and Chaitra moaned feeling his lips on her pulse.

Vimal: Are you sure baby girl ? There is no going back once we start this…
