Chapter 9

Recap: Mithun makes Reyansh realize the reality and later Reyansh ask Asha’s help to know Vaishu’s past.

Asha entered the kitchen and saw Vaishu was cleaning the kitchen counter after completing her cooking. She smiled on seeing Asha entering with the same smile on her face.

Asha: Ohh dinner is ready ?

Vaishu: Yes Asha maa and I made chickpeas curry and you just prepare appam when sir arrives for dinner.

Asha: He will love the combination. You could cook something simple and still he will have without any complaints Vaishu.

Vaishu: He works all day and comes home tired. Again instead of resting he spend time with Ishaan and Ishika. When he does so much for us then the least I could do for him is to cook his favourites.

Asha: Ok come lets go to room and chat until Reyansh returns from office.

They entered the room and Vaishu kissed her babies cheek and sat leaning on the head board looking at them.

Asha: Vaishu, how did you learn to cook such delicious dishes ?

Vaishu’s face fell hearing her question and Asha felt bad to look at her fallen face but she wanted to do it for Reyansh and Vaishu.

Asha: Did I ask something wrong ? I m sorry Vaishu..

Vaishu: No Asha maa, you asked nothing wrong its only my fate which has gone completely wrong.

Asha: I look at you as my daughter Vaishu. You can tell me anything if it will make you feel better.

Vaishu: My father owned a clothing export company and we were a happy family. Everything changed over night when my father and mother both died in an accident. My father’s sister came over to stay at my home and took care of me.

Few weeks everything was good and they treated me well but I don’t know what happened they started abusing me. I was home tutored and was not allowed to meet anyone out of home. She taught me little cooking then made me their permanent maid to do all the chores at home.

I didn’t had anyone to help me. Months back her son asked my hands for marriage and without knowing my interest I was married to him in a very closed ceremony or should say like a secret marriage. He never spoke to me and considering as my fate I did all his works still nothing changed.

For six months it continued and one day my aunt said him to take me on a honeymoon and it would change our relation. He did take me and spent two days sight seeing and he was really nice to me. I thought may be he was changing but I didn’t knew it was all their plan.

On the third day of our stay he arranged for our wedding night after six months of marriage. I was scared of him, scared of his family, scared of the arrangement he made that night.

Vaishu broke down into tears and Asha hugged her consoling her. She gave a glass of water and gulping it Vaishu continued again.

Vaishu: I was not ready for that thing. I shook my head and stepped back denying the night but he slapped and forced himself on me until I passed out. Morning I woke up on the bed naked and he was wearing only a boxer sitting on the couch smoking.

I… I couldn’t stand…and he laughed at me…

Vaishu closed her mouth to control her sobs that might wake up Ishaan and Ishika. Asha gulped down and sobbed hugging Vaishu.

Asha: No girl deserves this Vaishu. Its good you are divorced. You deserve someone to love you like you are a queen. Don’t worry but what happened to your father’s business ?

Vaishu: After we returned home I never saw him. But I knew he was taking care of the business. A month later I was found to be pregnant. I hated everyone but I couldn’t hate my baby, it was a part of me. Everyone started abusing me more after knowing my pregnancy.

One day I begged him to let me go and I will take care of my child. Only then I knew the trap they made for me. He placed a condition to let me go. He wanted me to sign all the properties and business to his name with all my will and also the divorce papers as mutual consent or he threatened to kill my baby.

I did what any girl would have done. I agreed to everything and first I signed all the papers he gave me. Three months later I signed the divorce papers too. They took me to check up and I got to know I was carrying twins. I was so happy that finally I had someone for me. I ignored them and focused on my babies.

Court gave an order for us to stay together for six months. After six months our divorce was approved but what I didn’t expect was they throwing me out of my own home in the middle of the night with nothing in my hand.

I was wandering without any place to go and no one to provide me shelter. I was trying to cross the road and that was the time Reyansh sir found me.

If he hadn’t saved me then I would have died with my babies.

Asha: How come a man can be so heartless ? Didn’t he have even a bit of courtesy for his babies you were carrying ?

Vaishu: He hated me to worse only after he knew I was pregnant. He had some lover and after I signed the papers he started living with her not that I cared for him. I m happy with my Ishu and Ishi. I wanted to raise them like Reyansh sir, kind and caring to everyone, to give love to everyone.

I don’t how long we will be able to stay here but after I leave this home I will tell Ishaan and Ishika about Reyansh sir, Mithun brother and you Asha maa. I will never miss a day to remind them about how much you all love them. May be one day if fate let us we will meet again and I wish to be a better situation.

Asha: Why would you have to leave this home ?

Vaishu: How can I stay here forever Asha maa ? Sir helped me when I was in the verge of dying. I can’t take advantage of his care. He has his own life to live and I can’t be a burden forever. I really wish for his well being and I will be the most happy to see him start his family. He will be a great father Asha maa. Will he call me for his wedding after I m gone from here ?

Asha: We don’t know what happens the next moment so why do you talk of leaving this home ? But I m sure of one thing, his marriage will not happen without you and also he will be great father. Will you listen to me once ?

Vaishu: Enna Asha maa sollunga  ( What Asha maa, tell me )

Asha: Don’t leave this home until Reyansh decides to get married. He will be left all alone if you leave this home. I never remember him returning home so early like he is doing now. He hates coming to an empty home. He is so happy being with Ishaan and Ishika so don’t take away his happiness. He is my son and I want to see him happy.  Will you do this please ?

Asha shed tears and Vaishu hugged her.

Vaishu: I will stay on one condition.

Asha: I will do anything you say Vaishu please stay here.

Vaishu: Ok, you will not do any work from now on and let me do the works.

Asha: Ohh I hate to see my daughter work alone so how about we share equally ?

Vaishu: done my dear Asha maa.

She smiled and hified with Asha and they both saw Ishaan awake.

Vaishu: Acho ennoda Ishu endhirchitingala ? Paathingala Asha maa Reyansh sir vara time ku correct ah endhirichitan. Seri vaanga mummum kudichitu ready ah irunga unga sir varuvaru muffin sollitu. Neengalam vilaiyadalam.                                                                                                                     ( Aww my Ishu baby is awake ? Look at him Asha maa he woke up to the right of Reyansh sir’s arrival. Ok come on baby you can finish with your milk and be ready for your Reyansh sir. He will come calling you muffin and you all can play then. )

Asha: Aama vitta Reyansh ivangala avar koodave vechukuvaru pola. ( Yes seems like Reyansh will keep them with him only )

Vaishu: Aama Asha maa ivangalum parunga namma kitta irukka vara nalla thoongitu avar varum podhu mattum nalla muzhichitu irupanga ( Yes Asha maa, these little ones sleep when they are with us but when sir is around they will be wide awake )

Asha: They love each other ‘s company a lot.

Vaishu laughed whole heartedly for the first time and Reyansh who was hearing everything recording in is mobile cut the call and got down from the car slamming his fist against the bonnet of the car making a dent on it due to the force he hit. Mithun rushed to him and pulled him back.

Mithun: Are you mad Rey, what are you doing ?

Reyansh: Didn’t you hear what has happened to her ? How could someone treat her like that ? Did you look at her face, how innocent and how much pain she hold in her eyes ? How could that bastard do this to her ? Mithun we should find him and I want to kill him with my hands. I want to give him thousand times more the pain he gave her.

Mithun: Rey calm down. Let us not dig further into her past and bring back anyone to her present at this time but we will do something at the right time.

Reyansh: I can’t be at peace until we do something to them Mithun.

Mithun: I will find who is that bastard and we will do something at the right time Rey but before that you need to work on something else. Didn’t you hear what she said about staying at your home ?

Reyansh: She will not leave me and I will not fucking let her go. I will do anything to keep her with me. I cannot live without seeing my muffins. They deserve everything in this world Mithun. I want Vaishu, Ishaan and Ishika with me forever Mithun. I can’t let them go and I will not let them leave me… I will not let them leave me.. fucking I will not let them leave me.

Mithun: Calm down Rey….

Reyansh: Mithun, she thinks I m doing this to her like I do for everyone but she is special Mithun. I was right when I guessed she will never return to that bastard of her ex husband. She is really a strong girl and see she is moving on but wanted only Ishaan and Ishika in her life. How could she think of leaving just like that ? And…and she wants me to get married ?

Mithun: Yeah she wants to see you married and settled in life with family…and she thinks you will be a great father.

Reyansh: If that is what she wants then it will happen. I will make that happen. Lets go didn’t you hear Ishaan is awake and I need to return home. I don’t want him to wait and miss me. Ishika will also be awake by now.
