The whole family sighed and looked at Raghav who was sipping the coffee in silent. Besides him was Prakash and Sanjay who were there to give company to him. Bala took Malini to buy ice cream giving the space for Raghav to speak to their parents. The long silence was broken by Lakshmikanthan.
Lakshmikanthan: Raghav, idhu seriya varuma? ( Raghav, will this work out ?)
Raghav: Appa, promotion oda transfer paa. Career la periya growth irukkum. Eppadi miss panna mudiyum ? ( Appa, its transfer with promotion. I will have a growth in my career. How could I miss this ?)
Devika: Career pathi naanga worry pannala. You both are just married and Malini is still young and eppadi thaniya iruppa. ( We are not worried about your career. You are just married and Malini is still young. How will she stay alone ?)
Raghav: Maa, I m taking Malini with me.
Krishnan: Raghav, nee office pona apram ava thaniya irukanum. Romba lonely ah feel pannuva. ( Raghav, she will left alone after you are gone to office. She will feel lonely)
Raghav: Appa, I will take care of her. Office pakkathulaye flat pakka soldren. ( I have flat close by our office)
Sujatha: Avanga pogattum vidunga venum na nama poi help pannalam. ( Let them go and if required we will go and help them)
Sanjay: Naa solren thappa eduthukathinga. Raghav , Malini rendu perum thaniya irundha avanga relationship ku oru space kedaikkum. Malini unga ellaraiyum depend panni irukka so anga pona rendu perukkum oru chance irukkum indha relationship understand panna.
( Don’t mistake my words but Raghav and Malini will get their private space if they let alone. Malini is dependant on all of you so if they go from here then they both will get a chance to understand their relationship)
Lakshmikanthan: Adhu ok, Malini thaniya irukanume Raghav office pona apram. ( That is ok but Malini will have to stay after Raghav is gone to office )
Raghav: Appa, konja naal than apram I will join her for work. Avalum nerayum learn pannuva. ( Appa, I will to office after a few days. She will also learn many things)
Krishnan: hmm correct .
Sujatha: Avalukku cooking theriyadhu. (she doesn’t know cooking)
Raghav: Maa, you don’t have worry. I can cook and she will learn too.
Devika: Malini enna solra ? ( What is malini’s opinion ?)

Lakshmikanthan: eppo ponum? ( when do you need to go ?)
Raghav: May be in another 10 to 15 days.
Lakshmikantha: Seri ok. We will go look at the flat and get all things ready before you go there and settle.
Krishnan: Yes, Naanga first poi veedu ready panrom. (Yes, first we will go get ready with your home)
Raghav: Done. Appo naa Malini kitta pesuren. ( I will talk to Malini)
Bala and Malini returned after having ice cream and Raghav looked at Malini.
Raghav: Malini , 10 or 15 days we will go to Bangalore ma. Ok va.
Malini: hmm ok. what about the surprise for amma and appa?
Raghav: go ahead and reveal by yourself.
Malini ran to their room and returned back with bags of clothes they purchased for them and gave them each a bag. They were puzzled and looked at Raghav and Malini.
Malini: You four are going for a vacation to Simla in two days. Its a 4 days trip.
Lakshmikanthan: Enna da Raghav, neenga pogama engala poga solringa. ( what is this Raghav ? Instead of you guys you want us to go ?)
Raghav: Appa, I think you all need to go for a vacation to relax. Anyhow we are leaving to bangalore so thaniya vacation vendam.
Sujatha: Raghav edhukku da? ( Raghav, why all these?)
Malini: Maa, onnum solla venda just go an enjoy. ( Maa, don’t refuse just go and enjoy)
After a long arguments and Raghav assured that he would stay at home and work, they agreed and started packing for their vacation. Malini helped them to in doing it.
Finally on the day of leaving, both their parents left after giving numerous instructions to both Raghav and Malini. Both sat in the living leaving out a exhale.
Malini: God, how hard did they made or us to send them on a vacation.
Raghav worked from home and he cooked for them and took care o the house hold with help of Malini. They watched movie, went to beach, cooked at home and everything was perfect for the first two days. The third day a call from Devika send shivers to Malini and she must have got a panic attack when she heard that Raghav’s aunt was already on her way for a surprise visit and would reach in a short while.
Malini: Raghav …. seeekira vaa , uunoda sidummonji chithi varangalam… ( Raghav come fast .. seems like your frowning faced aunty is coming)
Raghav almost choked and came downstairs and looked at the nervous Malini. This time call was from Sujatha and Malini spoke to her.
Malini: sollu ma ( yes tell me maa)
Sujatha: Malini, nalla nyabagam vechuko andha Krishnaveni romba tholla pudichava. Ava munnadi vaa, po nu pesadha. Nalla ponna nadandhuko appo dhan Raghav ku mariyadhaya irukkum.
( Malini, remember that Krishnaveni is a troublesome lady. Don’t call Raghav in singular before her. Behave like a good girl only then she will feel proud of Raghav)
Malini: Nalla ponnu na eppadi? ( Good girl in the sense how ?)
Sujatha: hmmm indha Bhagyalakshmi serial vara Bhagya, jenny mathiri. ( Like the girl jenny from the serial Bhagyalkashmi)
Malini: Ayayo…enakku edhuvum theryadhe. ( ouch, I don’t know anything like that)
Sujatha: Raghav kitta sei da kanna.. please ( Asf from Raghav and do as he say )
Malini: try panren ( I will try) But when will she leave?
Sujatha: May be she will be there today and tomorrow. Naanga vacation vandhadhala neenga anga veetla irukinga solli irukom. ( Since we are here on vacation we told her that you both are at home)
Malini: ayyoo.
Malini looked at Raghav who gave an assuring smile and patted her shoulder. He quickly made coffee and filled in the flask and cooked lunch and prepared gravy and chutney for dinner and stored in the refrigerator.
Raghav: Malini, avanga vandha odane coffee kudu. Lunch lam ready ah irukku. Night dinner ku gravy lam ready so onnum worry pannadha. ( Malini, give her coffee once she arrives. Lunch is all ready. Even gravy for dinner is ready so don’t worry)
Malini: Seri pa. (ok)
The door bell caught their attention and Malini went and opened the door and saw Krishnaveni standing with a usual straight face.
Malini: Aunty vaanga, nalla irukingala. ( aunty, please come. how are you ?)
Krishnaveni: hmm nalla irukken nee eppadi irukka. Raghav enga. ( Hmm I m fine. How are you ? Where is Raghav ?)
Malini: nalla irukken. Veetla than la irukkan..shh irukanga. ( I m fine. He is at home only )Malini Raghav ku mariyadha di her mind mocked her. ( Give respect for Raghav her mind mocked her)
Raghav: Vaanga chithi eppadi irukinga? ( Welcome aunty, how are you?)
Krishnaveni: Nalla irken da nee eppadi irukka? (fine, how are you ?)
Raghav: hmm super chithi.(aunty)
Krishnaveni sat and looked around the home and Malini gave her water. Raghav eyed her and soon Malini came back with a coffee cup and gave to her.
Krishnaveni: Coffee nallu irukku. (coffee is good)
Raghav: Malini super ah coffee poduva. ( Malini make best coffee)
Malini showed her the room where Devika and Lakshmikanthan stayed to refresh. Raghav and Malini sat in the living looking at each other. Soon Krishnaven came out and sat with them.
Krishnaveni: hmm apram marriage life eppadi irukku? ( Then, how is you rmarriage life?)
Raghav: Nalla pogudhu chithi. Lunch saptu rest edunga tired irupinga travel panni. (Going good aunty. You have lunch and have some rest. Should be tired after travel)
Malini: Naa lunch eduthu vekkuren. ( I will serve the lunch)
Krishnaveni sat in the dinning and Malini served the rice and sambar with potato fry.
Krishnaveni: Sambar nalla irukku. cooking nalla theriyuma? ( Sambar is good. You know cooking?)
Malini: Theriyum (I know) aunty.
Krishnaveni: Enna dhal use panna romba different ah irukku ? ( what dhal did you use, its very different ?)
Malini: enna dhal ah ? ( What dhal ?)
Malini looked at Raghav who rubbed his forehead and suddenly showed her the empty glass to her and she smiled at him.
Malini: Ayyo water kondu vara maradhutten irunga aunty idho varen. ( Ohh I forgot to get water, I will get it now aunty)
Krishnaveni finished eating and asked them have food and waited for them. Raghav and Malini had their food in silence.
Krishnaveni: Yen ivlo silent ah irukinga. seri Malini nee Raghav ah eppadi koopdura. Naa vandhadhula irundha nee kooptu pakkave illaye? ( Why are you both so silent ? Malini how do you address Raghav ? I haven’t seen you calling at all?)
Malini: Nana Naa vandhu vandhu … Mama, vaanga ponga nu koopduven. (mee…mee. I I.. I call him mama)
Raghav choked on the food he was eating and immediately Malini patted his head and gave him water.
Malini: Enga sapdupodhu porumaiya sapta enna ? ( ji, why don’t you eat slowly ?)
Raghav widened his eyes at her and she blinked indicating his aunt and he nodded his head.
After lunch Krishnaveni went to rest and the couple went to their room and as the door was shut Malini held her chest and breathed in and out to calm while Raghav laughed at her.
Malini: Nalla siri. Avanga eppo povangalo. ( You keep laughing. I don’t when she will leave )
Raghav: Night mattum adjust pannu nalaiku pack pannidalam. ( Adjust for the night alone.,I will somehow pack her in the morning)
Malini: Eppadi? (how?)
Raghav: Plan podren. ( I will make the plan)
Malini slept and Raghav continued his office work. By evening Malini jerked wth the loud voice of Krishanveni and ran downstairs and saw her sitting rubbing her head.
Malini: Enna achu aunty? ( What happen aunty?)
Krishnaveni: Ivlo neram acchu tea podalaya? ( Haven’t yo made tea yet ?)
Malini: Tea ah???
Krishnaveni: Tea thane ketten. ( I asked for tea only right ?)
Malini: Idho poduren aunty. ( I will prepare right now aunty)
Malini ran to the kitchen and called Raghav and informed him. He rushed out of the room and slowly went to the back of the house and saw Malini through the window.
Raghav: Malini naa solra mathiri sei ok va? ( Malini, do as I say ok ?)
Malini nodded her head and followed his instruction carefully.
Malini: Raghav tea powder edhu ? ( Raghav which is tea powder ?)
Raghav pointed to the container and she proceeded and finished making it.
Raghav: First nee our spoon eduthu sip pannu eppadi irukku nu. ( First you take a spoonful and sip to taste it)
Malini took a sip of the tea she made and jumped in happiness that Krishnaveni ran to the kitchen. Looking at his chithi coming Raghav hid.
Krishnaveni: Enna achu yen kathura? ( What happened. Why are you shouting ?)
Malini: Aunty tea super ah irukku. ( aunty tea is very nice)
Krishnaveni looked at Malini shockingly and Malini soon cooled her excitement and gave her the tea. Raghav went back to his room and chuckled at how he saw her getting excited for making the perfect tea.
Krishnaveni: Raghav koopdu tea kudikka. ( Giev some tea to Raghav too)
Malini: hmm.. Ra.. Mama she called slowly
Malini Mv: ayyo oru mathiri irukke…indha amma vera appadi pakkudhu nammala vera vazhi. ( Arghhh its very weird. This aunty is also glancing at me)
This time she raised her voice a little
Malini: Mama…Mama..
Raghav heard her voice and his heart fluttered to hear her call him mama. He calmed his heart and went down.
Raghav: Enna Malini ? ( What Malini?)
Malini: Tea kudikka vanga. ( Ji come to have some tea)
Raghav smiled at her but he knew that he instructed her to make tea for single person but there would enough coffee in the flask so he asked her for coffee and she gave him the coffee. After having tea, Malini gave her a quick tour of their home and settled in the living.
Krishnaveni: Malini unga akka pathi yedhachum therinjudha? ( Malini, did yo hear about your sister ?)
Malini’s face fell on hearing her.
Raghav: Illa Chithi. Ajay pathi kooda therila. ( No aunty, even we didn’t hear anything about Ajay too)
Krishanveni: Ajay nalla paiyan. ellame pochu. Paaru nee koda vera vazhi illama avasarama marriage panna vendidha pochu. ( Ajay is a good boy. Everything is spoilt. See, you too got married in urgency)
Malini had tears in her eyes an wiped it before they could but Raghav was quick to see her.
Raghav: Eppo irundhalum naa marriage panni iruppen chithi. Nan indha marriage la romba happy ah irukken. Ungalukku teriyadha enakku Malini ya evlo pudikkum nu. ( Anyday I would have got married aunty. I m happy in this marriage. Don’t you know how much I like Malini?)
Krishnaveni: Adhan oorukke theriyume. ( that the world knows )
Raghav: Avala vida yaaru enna nalla pathuppa. Apram Ajay kooda yen ippadi pannan nu namakku theriyadhu so Keerthy mattum thappu solla mudiyadhu. Vidunga mudinju pochu.
(Who else will take better care of me other than her ? We don’t know why Ajay did this so we can’t blame Keerthy alone. Let it go its over already)
Krishnaveni: adhuvum seri than. Malini unakku indha marriage la ok dhana? ( You are right. Malini are you ok with this marriage ?)
Malini: hmm nanum happy ah irukken. Avar enna pathukitta mathiri yaarum pathukka mattanga. ( hmm I m happy. No one will take care of me like he does)
Krishnaveni: Renu perum sandhoshama irundha seri dhan. Raghav pudhusa marriage agi irukku wife ku daily poo vangi thara mattiya? Po poi vaagitu vaa. ( good if you both are happy. Raghav you are newly married and are you not buying flowers for your wife ? go and buy some )
Raghav looked at Malini and then left home.
Raghav Mv: Indha chithi mela kova padratha thanks solratha theriyalaye kadavule. Nalladhum panranga, tension um panranga. ( Should I feel angry over her should I thank her ? She is doing good also giving tension)
After some time he came back with flowers and stood looking at his aunt and Malini. Krishnaveni looked at him standing still with a confused look.
